[19 octobre] Me and Mr. Fraiser

Zoey is wearing a…

On a Sunday afternoon, students were typically napping, doing homework, playing on the grounds, or many other activities that involved a relaxing atmosphere. However, on this Sunday afternoon, Zoey G. McAdams was rounding up multiple 'artifacts' he'd brought with him from home for Professor McHottiePants Fraiser to examine, gawk at, have fun with. He knew the Muggle Studies professor was a big fan of anything muggle, seriously, think of his title! And seeing as Zoey was muggleborn (or so he thought), he had many upon many muggle items to share with the professor. Plus, it would give him some one-on-one time with him.

Dressed in a muggle outfit, with layers over layers, Zoey looked a fool to the wizard's eye, but it was his typical dress, even if it was a bit more hyped up. Upon his bed, a stack of muggle romance novels, toys of Star Trek and Star Wars figurines, an iPod media player, and other items lay in a pile. With his wand, he transferred them all into a large tote bag, also muggle in fashion, and took his leave of his dormitory. One of his roommates was napping, and rather loudly with their snoring, as he exited, which caused Zoey to snort.

On his way up to the Muggle Studies classroom, he got multiple stares, but flashing his prefect badge on his back pants pocket, their quickly averted and their feet scampered faster. Finally at the classroom, he entered the room and went straight up to the desk of the professor, where he placed the tote bag and smiled from ear to ear, placing his hands upon his skinny hips. "For your pleasure, my professor." And then, he bowed.

There were many last minute preparations to be made in regards to the up coming research expedition to South America.  Isaac had been talking to various students and attempting to get everything in place in order to ensure a smooth first trip.  He had just sent an owl to complete arrangements for a Portkey and was now seated at his desk looking over the plans.

As it was a Sunday he was a bit shocked when someone actually walked into the classroom, and even more so when he saw it was a student.  Usually Sundays were a day to do last minute homework assignments or simply sleep the day away.  At least it had been that way during his schools days, he assumed things hadn't changed that much.

"For your pleasure, my professor."

He smiled slightly, resisting the urge to chuckle at the young man's slightly dramatic entrance.  On his desk now sat a tote bag, and inside were various items that would be associated with every day Muggle life.  Everything that would be quite foreign to anyone raised in a strictly Wizarding home, but quite common for the Muggleborns.

"Thank you, Zoey," he said.  "I've been trying to come up with some new examples of Muggle items for a third year class tomorrow...If I can borrow them until then you just saved me a trip in to London later today."

Picking up the iPod he continued on, "I can try to explain some of these things until I'm quite blue in the face, but to actually have an example of what I"m talking about is always better."

Zoey smiled at the professor. He was always such a pleasure to watch, even from behind. And to hear his voice, ah, the lovely accent that left his lips was like music. Zoey tended to daydream, and sure, Fraiser was in them often. But he wouldn't let anyone know that. Only Beatrix knew of these dreams, and only she would know. She kept his secrets and he kept hers. Soul sisters, er, mates for life they were, even if it was more a sibling bond than anything else.

Coming back to reality, Zoey piped up at the professor's comment. "Yes, sir, the iPod you have there, well, in modern technology, that is a classic. They have these things called iTouches now. What you're holding is a thirty gigabyte, those are memory terms, iPod classic. Still good for carrying multiple songs, videos, et cetera. But technology just keeps advancing, at least at Apple it does." He laughed and then tried to explain that, too. "That is the company that produces them. Not a literal fruit making musical devices." He winked, and held his hands behind his back.

Isaac nodded slightly as the young man spoke.  He had seen a young cousin on his mother's side with an iPod over the summer at a family reunion of sorts.  Thankfully the girl had simply assumed he didn't know what it was because he was 'old' not because he was a Wizard.  Still he'd allow the young man to explain the ins and outs of the company that made them.

"Good to know.  I wouldn't want my third years picturing an actual apple slaving away on an assembly line," he said.

Of course the term gigabyte still made little sense to him.  He knew it had something to do with computers which came in all shapes and sizes, including the one he held in his hand.  He felt better in knowing that some muggles his age didn't even seem to really grasp the ever changing technology.  At least it wasn't simply that he was from another world of sorts.

"By the way, I'm sure you've heard that I'm leading a trip to the Amazon...a research study and a chance for students to gain extra credit and field experience," Isaac continued.  "Have you given any thought to possibly signing up?"
