[October 17] Cuddle me something FIERCE

Outfit

11:23 p.m.

The fire was crackling in it's place as students and their pets settled in for the night. Ainsley Gairden was situated comfortable in pajamas on the sofa by the fire. Her cat, Penelope, was curled into a ball of white fluff on her lap, and a book was placed in-between her hands as she read with ease. Many students wouldn't consider her a studious person, or even a literate person, just because she was known to have a good time too many with boys around the school. Heck, even a girl or two may have dipped into Ainsley's garden.

But it was late in the evening, classes had ended, and all she could think about was if the abused maiden could escape her evil father and be with the handsome boy-next-door type. Yes, it was muggle fiction, but she was technically a quarter muggle blood. No one truly got her, really. Well, except maybe Reynaud Chancelier. He was adorkable to say the least, and unlike his cousin, Beatrix, he was more intimate with his affections and actions. Ainsley took those moments for granted. They were close, close friends. Some might say the best of, and Ainsley would gladly take it.

She was hoping he'd show up in the common room soon, as he generally was a night owl himself. It would give her relief, someone to talk with, smile with. She knew he wasn't really into her, or girls in general for that matter, but she loved him just the same, and she knew he liked to cuddle, too. As she continued to read, her thoughts lingered onto Razzy-dazzy, as she heard footsteps enter the room.

Those Cozy Pajamas!

Usually perched at the window or hiding away in a dark corner of his room, Reynaud Chancelier was, for once, moving around late at night. It wasn't that he was uneasy about something, he was just a little bored. And boredom wasn't good for a boy in his position. So, Razzy began to entertain himself by looking and crawling under his dormmates' beds, only for them to awaken and yell at him for being so weird. But, Razzy had collected almost one galleon in sickles by the time he was done, so he didn't mind being kicked out of his dorm for the rest of the night. They always liked him better when he hid in corners.

The only other place he had to go was the common room. Naturally, Razzy slowly made his way to the common room, seeing the fire still going much to his pleasure. He would have immediately snuggled up on the couch if it weren't for the fact that someone was already there. He paused in his steps and eyed the figure. He found out, quickly, it was an good acquaintance of his, Ainsley. People would consider them best friends, but, of course, Razzy didn't consider anybody anything in his mind. That didn't stop him from clinging onto the girl as if he was some sort of lonely animal. Then again, he did that to a lot of his close companions. But Ainsley was much more special than them.

Without feeling the need to announce himself, he sat down on the older girl's armrest and grinned down at her. "Up late, I see..." His grin spreading wider, "Couldn't sleep? I, personally, was kicked out of my dorm." He glanced around the abandoned common room before looking back down at the girl, "What are you reading? Care to share?" Unlike his insane cousins, Razzy wasn't very into muggle things. But whatever Ainsley wished to talk about, Razzy would listen. For his obsessions were always more important than himself.

As the footsteps grew louder by the thud, she smiled at the thought of who it was. And then, there he was, by her side, grinning his usual, quirky thing. However, it was surprisingly charming, too, and it always caught her off guard every time he smiled at her. True, she had a small crush on the boy, but then again, he was special to her. Like, the only boy who didn't treat her as meat, and from a girl's view, he treated her with respect and friendship, rather than claws and eye sores.

His explanation amused her ever so much, as she laughed at him being kicked out. "Oh Razzy. Well, at least you got kicked out for being something of a scavenger, an adventurer. I like being away from my dorm. Those girls..." She sighed. "Just because I've kissed all their boyfriends, they seem to have it out for me." She sighed again, longer and heavier this time, and set her book on the common room table next to them.

At his inquiry, she flipped the book over on the table. "Um, it's titled, Harriet's Hideaway. My brother recommended it to me. He's big into the soaps, and well, this book is soap in text form." She smiled, then patted the area next to her occupied by her feline, to which she pushed off the couch. "Altair would grimace at that, but oh well, snuggle up next to me and tell me of your day."

"Just because I've kissed all their boyfriends, they seem to have it out for me."

A flicker of jealous sparked across Razzy's face before he just went back to grinning down at the girl. He always became overprotective of his obsessions, and believed they only belonged to himself. But, Ainsley was a free spirit and Razzy was learning to accept that. "Who could blame them? No girl could ever compare to you..." Perhaps it wasn't the most brilliant idea to fuel Ainsley's confidence, but Razzy was a charmer and simply wanted her to be happy. Which had gotten quite easy over the years they knew each other. Razzy had definitely changed since they first met, but for now he was still the same kind boy he was. He couldn't help he was growing into his sad future.

"Um, it's titled, Harriet's Hideaway. My brother recommended it to me. He's big into the soaps, and well, this book is soap in text form."

Razzy bit his lip, nodding. He didn't really know what soap had to do with books, but he pretended he knew what she was talking about. "Is it good? The book, I mean?" Razzy's eyes flickered around the cover before gliding back to Ainsley. He never exactly knew why Ainsley liked him so much. Razzy was always thrilled when someone he grew fond of returned his cutesy smiles. He was basically Ainsley's lapdog ever since they began talking. He would fight her battles if she told him to, and would immediately take off his jacket to give to her if she simply shivered. Whether the girl knew it or not, she was lucky to be Razzy's favorite.

"Altair would grimace at that, but oh well, snuggle up next to me and tell me of your day."

Doing as he was told, the skinny boy slipped down next to Ainsley and wrapped his arm around her. "Well..." He thought about his day, his classes and whatnot. "Er- Well... I had... Classes today... I only attended a couple." He admitted, sheepishly. Razzy wasn't a fan of school. His interest was dropping quickly as time grew on and his parents were afraid he'd just eventually drop out of Hogwarts and lurk around Knockturn Alley. Little did everyone know, no matter what, that was indeed Razzy's fate.

"How was your day, Ainsley?" Razzy added, quick and soft. Most of his companions didn't like it when he skipped class. It was best he changed the topic.

"Is it good? The book, I mean?"

Picking it up, she examined the critic's comments on the back and on the inside sheet before placing it back down. "It's not bad so far. Every one else seems to like it a lot." She then realized that Razzy had no earthly idea what a soap was, beyond the stuff that you clean yourself with. "Oh, and by soaps, I meant these television shows where drama is basically overplayed. You do know what a television is, right?" She knew he was pureblooded, but some of them knew muggle things, because, seriously, Voldemort had been gone quite some time, so wizards could definitely intermingle within the muggle realms if they so chose.

"How was your day, Ainsley?"

At the thought of him skipping class, she frowned, but then again, she wasn't the most studious either, and she definitely wasn't her sister. "Well, as much as I wish you'd attend class, with that brilliant brain of yours, I won't lecture you." She smiled as he curled up next to her. She started running her fingers through his hair and playing with it while she spoke. "My day was just dreadful. Classes of course took place, and those were alright, but seriously, I think every girl here hates me. Except Abbie, but she doesn't count." She sighed, continuing with her fingers and Razzy's hair. "Not that I really care, but after awhile, it can get tiring to be the arse of blonde jokes and bad flirts."
