9:30AM, tryouts begin in thirty minutes.
(Students may watch, but, of course, only Ravenclaw students may tryout.)
(Students who already are on the list must tryout anyways, though they're going to get their spot simply by default. This is just to show that they made the team.)

(The Seeker position is a little bit iffy right now. I'm not quite sure what's happening with it.)

Attention Ravenclaw Students!!

Ravenclaw Quidditch tryouts are finally here! Yes! They are!

Come tryout at 10:00AM on Sunday, October 5th, 2008 (Well, obviously 2008).

Invite your friends, invite your not friends, and bring a coat!

Be SURE you bring a coat, actually!

~ Leon O. Monroe.

Leon Othello Monroe was quite surprised to find out this year that he had become the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. Though, not surprised at all since he was basically the only older student left on the team ever since the Maddoxs left. Leon would finally take his throne as Keeper and he just hoped that his fellow teammates would make the team. Leon didn't want to pick favorites, but he had high hopes for those. This was his moment to show he wasn't spineless.

Carrying the trunk of quidditch balls, stacked with a box full of pumpkin juice, and the flier he hung up all over the Ravenclaw common room, Leon wasn't so sure if he was being awkward or not. Perhaps he shouldn't have written so much. Just gotten straight to the point. Oh, people will laugh at him. No one will come. Leon sighed and stopped in the middle of the field and achingly dropped the boxes. Usually, he wasn't suppose to bring the trunk out by himself, but Leon didn't expect anyone to help him. His broom was already there next to a clipboard with a list of names of the previous Ravenclaw team members with spaces for possible members. Both of which were staring at him like he was an idiot.

Leon let out another sigh and opened a bottle of pumpkin juice. He spent the leftovers of his birthday money for all this juice, he didn't want it to go to waste. He'd probably end up giving them away at the lunch table or to a mischievous student who sells goods when the Professor weren't around. Not that he usually did that, he just thought it would be a nice gesture. Leon sat down his drink on the trunk and stared around the empty field. It was cold out, just as he suspected, and there wasn't anyone in sight yet. Then again, he was very early to the field. Perhaps people will start coming as it rears ten o' clock.

It wasn’t that she was nervous about tryouts.  Oh no, not she, Adrienna Marie Hayes.  She didn’t get nervous at quidditch events, as she had always been confident enough to know she would do well.  She had no doubts about her ability to play the game of quidditch, but yet something still tugged uneasily at her stomach.  Perhaps it was the fact that Leon would be there, waiting to watch her play.  But that couldn’t be it, she had decided as she stepped out and began the chilly walk to the pitch.  Since when had she been worried about boys?

It was cold, frigid really, and Adrienna was glad whoever printed the flyers – presumably Leon – had possessed the forethought to make a reminder to bring a coat.  Though, knowing people in general, someone would inevitably forget and end up freezing their broomsticks off.  More of an advantage to herself, she thought as she smirked.  Her hands, however, were more important to her role as Chaser, and at the moment, they were bare.  She never wore gloves while she played quidditch as it slightly hindered her ability to throw the quaffle, but now she wished she had something to cover them with.  As a chilly wind blew across the grounds, Adrienna shoved her hands into her pockets and tucked her nose into her blue and navy scarf.

The pitch was in sight now, looming with an almost tangible air of excitement, just as it always did when she thought of playing her sport inside it.  She shivered as she came into its walls and under its house banners.  She found herself looking at them as she walked across the pitch to the boy she knew stood waiting for the team to arrive.  Knowing she couldn’t stare at the bird on the Ravenclaw flag for eternity, she finally looked away as she approached Leon.

She had not noticed when they had spoken on the Grand Staircase a few weeks before, but Leon was extremely tall.  His shadow would probably swallow Adrienna’s average 5’7” at noon.  Oh well.  As she observed his unusual tallness, she realized that it sort of added to his mysteriousness.  The tall, dark, and handsome type.  Adrienna rolled her eyes at herself.  She was quoting from her mother’s elusive Lifetime movie encyclopedia that she carried around in her brain and spouted knowledge from when she found it necessary.  Most of the time, Adrienna had no idea what she was talking about, but that is irrelevant.

Adrienna soon realized that her feet were still moving, which was bringing her closer to Leon Monroe and the conversation between them that would soon follow.  She thought she felt her brain twitch at the prospect.  What was she to say?  Did she say hi?  Did she wave?  No, waving was stupid.  Then she found herself in the embarrassing situation of standing a yard away from him and not knowing quite what to say.  So she said the very first thing that came to mind…

“Hey,” then she looked up at him, “you’re extremely tall.”

Oh, she was stupid.  Of course he was tall, and he probably knew that.  Not mention how many other people knew that and most likely pointed it out idiotically just as she had done.  Her words made clouds that swirled around her face, and she hoped it was hiding her flushing cheeks at least long enough for it to fade.

It wasn't his first time outside that day and it had been bitter cold earlier that morning.  Despite being the morning of tryouts, Sasha had been up and out for his usual morning jog long before breakfast and, really, the day had only gotten warmer since then.  Since he was old enough to ride, tending the family's dairy cattle had been a part of his responsibilities.  Despite his stepfather's lucrative position as a banking CEO, the family had a long tradition of tending cattle - Gerhard claimed it was a symbolic representation of their long history of land ownership.  The symbolic dregs of the family's history as land barons and counts.

Which, really only meant he was used to the early early mornings necessary to tend the cattle and still make it to school on time.  Even now, it was extremely rare that Sasha was able to sleep in - even on school holidays.  'Laziness isn't a Schlagenweit trait.'  Or so he'd been told countless times.

It was still cold the second time Sasha slipped out of the castle.  At least it wasn't raining.  But, this breath of cold air so early in the season seemed to be promising many cold and wet practices and games.  Sasha always figured the cold and wet was just motivation to keep moving and play harder.  Sitting around idly on your broom was unlikely to make you warmer.  Of course, this was assuming he managed to make the team.  His second year, Sasha had first tried out for the Ravenclaw team but the spot had been granted to the three, older incumbent team members.  It was during his third year that one of the resident chasers had finished Hogwarts, leaving an opening for Sasha to fill.  It had been a close call - Sasha had borrowed a housemate's broom to try out on.   It wasn't until after he'd made the team that Sasha had ordered his own Cleansweep Aero.  It was larger, bulkier and not nearly as quick on the pick up as the Nimbuses but it turned with a readiness that Sasha was accustomed to after years of playing polo.  And, it was the best broom he could get for the amount of money he'd managed to talk out of his stepfather. (He'd claimed he'd made the school's equestrian team and needed the money for a new dressage saddle.  Saddles - evidently - ran cheaper than brooms.)

As he was still 'technically' on the team until after tryouts (when either he'd be on it again or someone would take his place), much of Sasha's gear was still in his locker.  Bringing his broom home over the holidays was, of course, not an option, so just as Sasha's trunk and wand remained on his bed in his dorm over the summer, his broom remained securely in his locker.  He'd managed to sneak in a few practices since the start of the year (only one of which was interrupted by a group of bullying Slytherins) and, as long as he made no serious blunders, he figured he had a good chance in remaking the team.  Just so long as Leon didn't hold the debacle of the previous year's Cup match against him.  Given the circumstances (getting cornered by the Slytherin team and kissed by Ava Grosvenor), Sasha had managed as well as one might expect with such interference.  And, the way his teammates had ganged up on the Slytherin team was hardly his fault.  But, Sasha fully understood that, for some inexplicable reason, he'd been the weak link in the team during the game.  Hopefully, Leon would recognize that Sasha had little to do with how ... susceptible, apparently? ... to kissing he was.

When not required to wear his quidditch uniform, Sasha found he preferred practicing in some of his polo gear.  With the thin, waterproof, wind resistant jacket layered over a basic polo shirt (with a warming charm applied for good measure) matched with thick and close-fitted riding pants (also magically warmed), Sasha had a fair amount of flexibility and reach.  His thin, supple, warm riding gloves seemed to work well and - even better yet - wearing them to practice made it easier to, legitimately, claim he'd used his riding gear at school.

Sasha offered his two housemates a polite nod and a shy grin as he reached the center of the field where Adrienna and Leon stood.  "'Allo," he offered, oblivious to the flush of color that had spread across his fellow fifth year's face.  And, the awkwardness that had prompted it.

“Hey, you’re extremely tall."

That voice all too familiar, Leon turned and saw Adrienna Hayes staring up at him. Causing a slight blush in his face. Leon hardly even noticed she had just greeted him with 'Hey, you're extremely tall' and gave her an awkward grin. "Um... Yeah... I am." Leon nodded, stuffing his hands into his pants pockets. He was built like a Quidditch player, that was for sure... He just didn't have the attitude all too much. That didn't mean he couldn't captain a team, though. Leon knew how to manipulate people... And lure them in with sweets and juice.

Then another younger student joined the two, a boy to much of Leon's relief. He gave him a big smile and a sigh. "I'm glad to see people coming early..." Leon really wanted to say that he thought his flier was off-putting and he was an awful captain and should go kill himself in his garden just as he wanted when Bombay set Leon free in the Greenhouse. Who's idea was it to make Leon captain? It couldn't have been Professor Bombay because that man had no soul and seemed to despise Leon with a passion. Then again, he also hated the whole world... Besides his precious plants.

Leon picked up his drink again and took a hesitant sip before grinning at the two Ravenclaws again. "Pumpkin juice? I brought a box-load..." He offered. With the cold weather, he really should have brought warm butter beer... Or some sort of alcohol that warms you up but is actually destroying all your body heat. Leon's brow furrowed and he shrugged, "So... What's- er- Your name?" Leon directed to the younger boy. He knew Adrienna, of course, and he should have known Sasha, but Leon wasn't really a team member the years before. He only knew the Maddoxs and Adrienna.

"I'm, er, obviously... Leon Monroe..." Did he really need to say that? Leon's face turned  a darker shade of pink and he could hardly bring himself to look at Adrienna. She had to have thought he was weird. But Leon didn't know he was totally different from the two younger students. The voices in his head were definitely normal. Everyone had them. Or so Leon thought. But Leon knew when to be embarrassed when he should. And Leon was embarrassed.

”Um… Yeah… I am.”

Adrienna wanted to bang her head against her broomstick.  How foolish she sounded!  Hey, Leon, you’re tall, and I’m an idiot.  I’m sure you didn’t know.  She was readying herself to say something intelligent to make up for what her first statement was lacking when she heard someone coming behind her.  She spun to see who was interrupting her smart comment, and to her indifference, it was Sasha Schlagenweit.  Sasha seemed like a nice boy and smart, too, but Adrienna had never truly bothered to speak to him.  She was sure, however, that they would get along given the chance.

“’Allo,” he said as he approached the two of them.

Adrienna glanced at Leon slightly impatiently as she mumbled, “G’morning, Sasha.”

”I’m glad to see people coming early…” Leon breathed, the fog that poured from his mouth so opaque that, for a moment, his face was barely visible.  It floated into the air and evaporated completely before Adrienna spoke.

“Were you worried about it?” she asked him, looking up at him from her feet.  “The turnout, I mean?”

Leon offered the two fifth years pumpkin juice, which Adrienna politely refused.  She didn’t eat or drink anything before she played quidditch.  If she did, she became quite air-sick.  Unfortunately, she discovered this in her first year the hard – and not to mention embarrassing way.  Her teammates never able to stand beneath Adrienna again, and she most certainly did not want a repeat, especially with Leon watching.  She shuddered.

Leon then continued to introduce himself to Sasha, which for some reason he seemed embarrassed about, and Adrienna assumed it was probably because he had already had his name listed as team captain on his flyers.  But then, introducing himself nonetheless, was the appropriate thing to do.  Adrienna’s mother had always taught her to always introduce herself in person, even if the stranger had heard of you before.

Even though Blake was a third year and the Hogwarts Quidditch teams were traditionally overrun by upperclassmen (or women), he felt pretty good about his chances of nabbing a spot on the team. He'd practiced enough with his brothers to know his way around the pitch blindfolded. In fact, the Knight boys could practically field an entire Quidditch team by themselves, save one. And even then that might not matter much against some teams, given the bulk and aggression that Callum, Darren and Harold displayed. Of course, that didn't mean all the Knights played the same way.

Blake could reasonably play any position well and some might even question why he wasn't trying out to be the team's seeker. But when he heard that there was a beater slot open (it payed to have an inside scoop from the other half of B squared), he decided that was where his efforts might be best concetrated. True, he was more of a lover than a fighter any day of the week and twice on Sunday. But he also knew that he had one advantage many other players didn't have. That came in the way of thirteen years of going toe-to-toe with his brother and the beater on the opposing Slytherin team.

Not that Blake felt that his spot on the team rested solely with that. As far as he was concerned, it would be justified based on his own merits. He was a skilled beater regardless, just not in the same way that Callum was. He was more of a crafty type, finding ways to direct the bludger to optimize its effect. Still, Blake would relish the thought of making the team and eventually being the victorious Knight. It was petty and rather foolish (especially given his brother's size compared to his own) but he still harbored the fantasy anyway.

And, he had nothing to lose. The worst thing that could happen was that Callum would dislike him even more than he already did. Yeah, whoop-dee-do, he thought mildly. What else was new?

Decked out in his "play" clothes and carrying his broom, bat and padding (all of which were hand-me-downs), Blake headed over to the pitch in enough time so that he'd be on time. He arrived to see most of the other remaining team members already assembled. He was momentarily worried that he had cut it too close, but since he didn't see too many other prospective new members yet, his nervousness quickly subsided.

Even so, he still felt rather awkward walking up to the veterans and immediately attempting to strike up a conversation. He knew some of them away from here, but they were obviously on the team and he obviously was not.  Pretending that everything was the same as usual was not exactly something he excelled at. Thus, he slowly approached the assembled group and tried not to draw attention to himself, content to allow the others to continue to talk. He didn't really say anything until after the captain introduced himself. Seeing a lull in any conversation, Blake shifted his things awkwardly to one arm and gave a quick, casual wave of his now free hand. "Blake Knight." Sneaking a quick look at each of the others in turn to guage their recognition of either him or his undeniable connection to the other Knights at the school, he cleared his throat and added, "Uh.....yeah. I'm The Good Knight."

Its freezing out, Meg thought to herself as she walked from the castle down to the Qudditch Pitch, her broom in hand as she walked. It was the day of the Ravenclaw Qudditch tryouts, and she wore a jacket just as the sign suggested that they should. In addition, she wore gloves on her hands. After all, as a Chaser, she would need to use her hands a lot during Qudditch, and it would be helpful if she had feeling in her hands. Make that, it would be helpful if she didn't freeze them off, which would undoubtedly happen if she didn't decide to wear gloves to the try-out.

In retrospect, her hands falling off would probably be the least bit of Meg's worries. The previous year, her actions during the Qudditch House Cup game weren't the best as they could be. She was surprised that she wasn't immediately kicked off the team from that. Thankfully, the Ravenclaw team had a new captain, so she hoped that this new captain wasn't aware of what happened the following year. Or, atleast, that the new captain did not remember what happened. Yes, that would be the best possible situation for her during the tryouts.

Wrapping her coat tighter around herself, Meg tried to make herself warmer as she finally noticed the Qudditch Pitch in her view. She hoped that she was accepted to play again as a Chaswer for the team. Over the summer, she was essentially unable to practice, since she was a muggle-born. Her practice time was mainly after she arrived at Hogwarts.

As Meg approached the pitch, she noticed a group of four already were present. She knew that she wasn't late, so they clearly weren't about to start yet. Thankfully, she was able to arrive before she was late. After all, she would hate to lose her chance on making the team, just because she was late. That would be just as bad, if not worse, than getting kicked off for non-sporting conduct.

Once she arrived at the group, Meg spotted Sasha and Adrienna, both of which were in her year, already arrived. "Hi Sasha, Hi Adrienna," she greeted both of them with a smile. Looking at the other two boys, one who was older and the other was younger, she didn't immediately recognize either of them. "Hi, I'm Megan Ruiz," she introduced herself to the two boys.

“Were you worried it? The turnout, I mean?”

Leon turned, slightly, towards Adrienna, "Er... A bit, yeah." Who would follow a sign like that? His flier was ridiculous, yet he hung it up anyways. Leon wanted to say 'You had to have thought it was stupid. I mean... Did you read it? God. I am an idiot.' Which was funny in itself, since Leon definitely wasn't an idiot, just a nervous, little schoolboy. That was considered an adult. His brow furrowed at this thought. Perhaps Leon was thinking a bit too much today.

Then two more students joined in, one he vaguely remembered from the previous year. But, neither of them recognized him. The boy piped up, quickly,

"Uh.....yeah. I'm The Good Knight."

Leon stared at the boy for a moment before saying "... I- I don't... What does that mean?" He wouldn't know about Callum or the other Knight brothers. But Leon shrugged it off, anyways and grinned. "Leon Monroe." He wasn't surprised no one knew who he was. Then again, who else would be the tall seventh year? There were no other seventh years on the whole team. Leon's eyes flickered over to the girl who appeared,

"Hi, I'm Megan Ruiz,"

"Er... Leon Monroe." He said once more. Leon doubted he really needed to repeat himself anymore, unless someone was going to tryout for Seeker. Leon knew that there was a beater that had joined at the end of the season last year, and he didn't think anyone else would come. After all, Ravenclaws these days were so... Uppity. Not many would be joining in on Quidditch. Though, Leon hoped, that Waker would at least show up and loosen out his nerves. But, this was the best could do for now. Leon stared down at the box of juice and sighed. What a waste of money. He straightened himself up and grinned at the younger students, "We'll be beginning soon."

Everyone was early, though... Maybe he should slow down. Leon ignored these thoughts and picked up the clipboard he had laid out. "So... Everyone confident today?" He smiled hesitantly. Leon jotted down everyone's names before speaking up again. "What're you all trying out for?" He eyed everyone. This was the easiest way he could do this, though he knew everyone wasn't going to respond quickly.

Adrienna had to admit, that she had been worried no one would show also.  Not many people who had been on the team last year had mentioned it, and a lot of the other Ravenclaws weren’t into quidditch anyway.  She hadn’t been expecting many new additions, but she wasn’t going to tell Leon that.

“Just… just relax,” she offered her consolidation to his nerves.  “Everything will work out…”

As she said this, new more Ravenclaw emerged onto the pitch – one of them a Knight and the other Megan Ruiz.  Adrienna smiled at Megan when she greeted her, but she didn’t know the Knight boy and so said nothing to him.  It seemed he was different than rest of his brothers.  For one thing, he was in Ravenclaw, and for another thing, he announced himself as ‘the good knight’.  Adrienna grinned at this comment, and hoped she would like him better than she did Callum.

It was quiet for a few moments as a wind blew and Adrienna shivered, feeling the chill through her thick jacket.  Next time she was going to cast a warming charm on this blasted jacket, and she wished she had brought her wand out or she would not hesitate to do so now.

”So… everyone confident today?” Leon asked the group.

Adrienna knew he was talking about quidditch, and she couldn’t have been more sure of herself in that aspect.  But she was certainly not feeling too confident in herself otherwise, definitely not today and normally not any other day either.  Of course, it was inevitable that she would be required to converse with her teammates, and so she would without complaint.  She would just be herself, and nothing could go wrong, right?  She fidgeted uncomfortably and sighed.

”What’re you all trying out for?” Leon asked, looking at all of them in turn.

“Chaser,” Adrienna said quietly, feeling self-conscious with so many near-strangers around her.

"What're you all trying out for?"

"My name is Beatrix Dark and I AM A BEATER!" Oh how she loved saying that. Beatrix walked with her arm hooked in her best friend's (as everyone should know by now, it was Zoey Gabriel McAdams, of course), her broom flung over her shoulder, and had a huge, redcheeked smirk. Beatrix usually dressed for the heat, no matter how cold it was outside, during Quidditch season. She liked the freezing cold as she zipped around the field, hitting people with bludgers. Though, after having the whip of frost thrown at her face, she regretted wearing what she had, but was certain she would be fine... If not, she could steal Zoey's or Sasha's coat.

Or... Blake's. Beatrix pulled her arm out of Zoey's and flung it around Blake's waist, giving him a huge hug. "You're trying out!? That's great! That's superb! Ohh, imagine us on the field, smacking bludgers and laughing together..." She was practically squeezing the life out of him. After letting go, she sent another life-squeezing hug to Sasha and another to Megan. Not that she hadn't seen them in a while, she just was glad they were there with her. Beatrix turned to Leon and thought about breaking his back, also, but instead she just grabbed a bottle of pumpkin juice and settled back into Zoey's arms.

Beatrix WOULD have hugged Adrienna, but she wasn't sure if she was that welcome enough to Beatrix yet.

Though Beatrix really wasn't the type to steal warmth from other people, she had to in this case. Plus, Zoey was tall and big (Not big, but bigger than Bea) and Beatrix was small and could be blown around by the wind. He could spare a little warmth. "I think we have a nice setup here," She grinned.

The new captain seemed a bit nervous.  Ok - more than a bit nervous.  It was a state Sasha was well aware of - he could recognize it in another with little to no effort.  It did feel a little strange to be the one causing the nervousness in the other (he was generally the recipient).  "I'm usually early," he offered with an awkward shrug.  Of course, early was relative.  Really, it wasn't hard to make it to a 10:00 meeting on time.  "And, if you made it to any of Maddox' old practices, this is quite a reasonable hour in comparison."  He nodded in greeting to Adrienna.

Sasha shook his head, passing on the offer for a pumpkin juice.  He was too nervous for that.  "Maybe after tryouts," he said, with a shrug.  Especially if he made it back on the team.  "Oh ... I'm um Sasha," he offered as Leon ask after his name.  "Sasha Schlagenweit."  He nodded as Leon introduced - the offered name was, actually, not necessary but he wasn't going to say such.

To his surprise, Blake showed up.  Though in a younger year, and despite having been pummeled by his older brother about a week ago on this very quidditch pitch, Sasha often found himself in Blake's company.  He was quiet, friendly and (very unlike his brother) rather unassuming.  Sasha offered the younger Ravenclaw a grin and an encouraging nod - he'd been in his third year when he'd made the quidditch team.

"It means, he's not the Knight brother that gives people black eyes for practicing on the quidditch pitch," Sasha offered to clarify for Leon, absentmindedly rubbing his temple with the heel of his hand.  It seemed perfectly obvious to him what 'the good Knight' meant.  But, perhaps, as a seventh year, Leon was beyond Callum's reach.  Others were showing up to practice.  He nodded in greeting to his fellow teammates as they approached.  Megan Ruiz, his fellow fifth year and chaser and Beatrix, the resident beater.  Though, Beatrix seemed to have forgotten - or neglected on purpose - to dress appropriately. But, Sasha remembered thinking the same thing several times during the previous season.  Color flooded his face as she drew him into a hug and, awkwardly, patted her on the back.

Sasha had been a chaser for two years so it seemed that was the obvious answer to Leon's question.  And, he did offer it.  "I ... I know our last game was ... "  And, he figured that was, easily, grounds to be denied a spot on the team again.  "But, I was thinking I would try for Chaser again.  And, maybe, ... I don't know - I'd like to try out for Seeker, perhaps."

Figaro Sellaphix was so atrociously bad at Quidditch, and so emphatically desired to play and bothered Hufflepuff with so much ferver that he was essentially banned from Hufflepuff try-outs, practices and had to stay well clear of the locker-room at matches.  He endured this exile with relative ease, his pride not at all bruised, nor his drive at all diminished.

He followed pro Quidditch on the Wizarding Wireless, shouting with his mates in the common room or Great Hall when a match was on.  And he tailed his friends from other houses when they went to practice or matches.  Slytherin, of course, wouldn't have him.  And Gryffindor hadn't yet thrown him out this year.  And with his new found study-buddy Sasha Schlagenweit in Ravenclaw - well, Figaro had to go and support the bloke.

He clambered into the bleachers.  He put his wand to his throat and spake Sonorus

"Oy!" his voice broke the cold October calm of Scotland.  Some birds sqwacked out of a nearby thicket. "Oy! Schlagenwiet! Up here!"

He waved with all his might to try and grab Sasha's attention.  He could see the Ravenclaws clearly enough.  He knew who they all were and Beatrix was unmistakable.  Her clothes were louder than his enchanted voice.

"Good luck!"

Bundled up in a magically warm trench-coat (similar in design to his cousin's but not as well-kept), Graham made his way onto the pitch.  It was an all-right turnout although he hoped more would come soon.  With the turnabout in Captain, it was up to Graham to ensure his house had the chops to win the cup.  He knew Monroe to be an alright sort, but there was a difference between leading by grades and leading on the pitch.  It seperated the boys from the men (not that Graham had any actual experience with that test).

"Monroe," he nodded, acknowledging the boy's authority at the moment.  Graham was really there just to watch and make sure those trying out knew the Ravenclaw team meant serious business.  If they wanted to dance about on broomsticks, they should have been a Hufflepuff.  He stood behind the new captain, glowering darkly to prevent any potential mischief.

But why in Merlin's knees would Sellaphix be there, of all places?  The loud voice was hard to miss, especially when enchanted.  He contemplated muting the boy, but everyone knew what the consequences were for casting spells on a student, especially when it was "uncalled for" by the Head's standards.  Graham tried desperately to ignore the boy, but it would only be for so long before Sellaphix pushed him to action.

[[I know not everyone announced their positions, but I'll just pretend they did]]

More people joined the field and Leon couldn't help but grin, proudly, at himself. He would treat himself later for his good work, but now he needed to act like a Quidditch Captain. He scribbled down everyone's positions, two beaters: Excellent. One keeper, of course. Three chasers-- But wait... A seeker, too? Leon's eyes stared down at the page and looked around at the students before they landed on Sasha, who seemed utterly embarrassed.

"I ... I know our last game was ... But, I was thinking I would try for Chaser again.  And, maybe, ... I don't know - I'd like to try out for Seeker, perhaps."

It took a little bit for Leon to think back before he remembered. Their last game had been a disaster. Not only did they lose, but the two beaters gained up on unsuspecting victims and Sasha had been sexually harassed by two Slytherin girls in attempt to steal the quaffle. Slytherins were known for playing dirty, why would Sasha blame himself? If anyone should be embarrassed, it should had been the two promiscuous, man-eating girls. Then again, Vienna Pascal and Ava Grosvenor were quite respectable... Just didn't have the right minds.

But, Leon smiled at Sasha and shrugged, "Clean slate, Mr. Schlagenwiet. Don't worry about it. I'll let you tryout for Seeker." He scribbled his name down next to 'Seeker'. "It wasn't your fault, anyways." Leon assured the younger boy. Leon himself wouldn't know what to do if he was ganged up like that. But Leon didn't want to think about it. Girls were strange creatures, and Leon thought this right after he glanced up to witness the older beater dressing like a lady of the night.

Professor Bombay was sort of the last person Leon wanted to see. But, he didn't seem too angry today... For once. But with a younger student bellowing from the stands and Bombay being such a stern man, this better mood would surely fade. Leon quickly pulled out his wand and murmured "Sonorus," (Considering the fact that Leon was a good boy and didn't attack students, he had to simply make an announcement.) "Could the spectators please refrain from-- err-- spellwork, please. You may cheer, though, just without charms... And I will have to ask you to leave if you don't heed my warning." Leon wasn't really preparing to take action, and he was sure the boy would understand. Leon just wanted Bombay to not hate him for the rest of his life.

Leon shoved away his wand and awkwardly grinned at everyone before finishing his small amount of paperwork and greeting Bombay with an enthusiastic smile and "Good to have you here, Professor. Care for some pumpkin juice?" Even though the Professor made Leon even more nervous than the glances he caught with Adrienna, the fact that Bombay was watching everyone like a hawk and breathing down his neck made Leon feel better. He wasn't alone anymore, and if he did anything wrong he'd be able to correct it ten times faster in fear that Bombay will kill him and his daffodils.

In my next post, we'll be starting. We'll do beaters first, since both of them are already posted.

Always being dragged around. He let himself do it, true, but nevertheless, he was the one who taught Beatrix how to do this whole dragging around, and now she was using it against him. But he wasn't complaining. He actually did enjoy watching Beatrix on a broomstick. She was a regular at the sport, and though Zoey was never really into himself, he was always Beatrix's biggest support beam.

He let her go, as she rushed and pounced multiple people. He knew Sasha hated her attempts at flattery, and apparently, so did all the other boys. Except Pennyapple, but that one was in his own house, under his watchful eye, so Vincent knew not to besmirch Bea's name in front of him. As she settled back into him, they sat and she curled into him. They truly were soulmates, but it wasn't really in their stars to settle upon each other just yet.

"Oh, Bea, you know I'll give you my love and warmth whenever you need it, or want it." He winked at her., smiling as most of the try-out people got ready.
