[April 16] Home (Ciarra & Scirey) on January 28, 2009, 02:42:41 AM It had been a incredibly long day. Things weren't exactly easy as just a trainee. And there was just too much paperwork for a position that should have to be tracking dark wizards. But Ciarra supposed that had more to do with the fact that things were so peaceful. That made it rather hard for her to ever prove anything if nothing ever happened. She should be happy for that reason but she wanted to show her Father how skilled she was. But she knew that being too hasty could come to be her undoing. As much as she wanted it, she knew she would have to wait.Coming in to the apartment, she moved to the living room and sat on the couch. She instantly relaxed and let out a long deep breath. Her chair at the office wasn't nearly as comfortable as the sofa. She could probably fall asleep here."Scirey, are you home?" Ciarra asked loud enough to carry through the apartment. Her room mate typically was home before she was, but on occasion she was out much later. It was one of the few things she looked forward too in the day was seeing her room mate. Simply because she was one of the few friends she had, or rather was able to talk too and see. And it was always nice to have that after a long day. Scirey would have never been able to afford such an apartment if it wasn't for Ciarra. An overstreched sweater fell off of Scirey as she painted from memory what the sunset had looked like. A small amount of light hit the canvas in front of her. A palate with dollops of paint was balanced on her crossed legs. Her brush was poised in midair as she figured out where the next stroke would be placed. This painting was just for fun. It felt nice to indulge in what she wanted and not to practice art for her job. She loved her job it was just that sometimes she wanted art for what she meant it to be not what the finicky publishers and tacky writers wished. She hated it when they whined that the painting was great but too simplistic or the sketch was not hard enough or it needed to be bigger, stronger! The real kicker was that she was paid to create her own interpretation of what the text is trying to convey and then create several different concepts or themes for the cover before actually working and they agree with one and then after several covers are finished and inked out they change their mind! A half clothed lady in the arms of a muscle man will draw more attention, the readers will love it! It was tasteless and a cheap way of luring buyers.Scirey glanced at her watch when she heard Ciarra call out. She had lost track of time. "Physically yes, mentally no. I'm out on the balcony. Dinner's in the fridge if your daring." She called out slightly teasing. Only with Ciarra she would dare to say anything on her mind. Ciarra laughed a bit, she got back up and moved to the balcony where she saw her room mate painting. "I'm not particallarly hungry. Whats the subject tonight? Or waiting for something to strike your fancy?" She leaned against the doorway with her legs crossed, supported with her left foot and crossing over in a t with her right. She was so tired but there was enough energy to spend time with Scirey, who she rarely ever got to see anyway. And that wasn't something she liked but things weren't the same as it was when they were in Hogwarts. And if they didn't live together they probably would have never seen each other for a few years. That would have been sad in itself.Kyle Gibson would be graduating from Hogwarts soon. She needed to talk to Scirey about Kyle staying here until he got his life going. Plus she had always treasured the friendship she had with Kyle. Plus he was sure that Scirey would get along with him anyway. So there certainly wasn't anything to worry about. She sighed wondering how Kyle was doing and if he was managing to stay out of trouble. She shook her head, Yeah right..."How's work going?" The blazing sky of color was finished and s he was working on the city below. The view was what they were staring at, only her interpretation."I've put work aside this is just for me." She said as she plopped the brush in the water jar causing a tiny wave of water to slosh outside. The old Scirey still at Hogwarts would have been angry that she had been so careless. This new and improved Scirey took out her wand and cleaned it up with a wave. She was trying to get used to using her wand instead of just her hands.Scirey leaned over and cleaned off the chair next to her by hand. She set the large notebook on her lap and began to flip through it. She pulled out a packet of parchment that was her project for and of Ciarra. "The series you requested." She said dramatically as she handed her sketches over. It all started with Scirey drawing Ciarra in the living room one night and it then turned into a large discussion of how Ciarra should be drawn, as in what scenes and such. Apparently the series was for someone special. Most likely Kyle Gibson. "work is work. I like it but at the same time i want to do mo re than draw and paint potion bottles." Which Ciarra could certainly respect, but at the same time one bad stroke on canvas could potentially ruin things, and a wand was the perfect solution, for an artistic witch at any rate. She wondered how much will power it took Scirey to use the wand anyway. As Scirey cleared the seat next to her Ciarra decided to make herself comfy next to her roommate. "The series you requested." Ciarra grinned and took it in hand and flipped through them. "Amazing as always Scirey." She reached over and gave her a quick hug, being careful if Scirey still had anything in her hands. "Your the best," Ciarra pulled back and gave her a wink. She planned to send a few to Kyle, and maybe sneak a couple into her Father's house. And then a couple for herself to hang up in her room. And that was something Scirey couldn't deal with for that long."Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?""Oh yeah, I stopped by the Burning Pot after the training session, and I think I ate a bit more than I should have, so I'm definitely still full," Ciarra said offering Scirey a smile. With her Father causing a bit of panic in the department it had gotten some of them irritated to work her more than usual. At least that was what she assumed it was."Any news from Cyrus?""Well his parents got a letter from him saying that he had finally gotten a lead on Aure. It wasn't a sure thing but it had been better than what he had been getting for a while," Ciarra sighed. That whole situation was hard on Ciarra since her and Cyrus had become quite good friends over the years, even if he was older than her. He was like the big brother she never had. And Aure was like a sister as well, though she hadn't seen her in a long time. Not since she had been working here in England about three years ago. Or maybe it had been longer? She couldn't remember. "I just hope he finds her, the two of them deserve to have a future together." Skip to next post

It's like a challenge, you are only given a few peices of the puzzle and you and another person are trying to fill in the blanks. Its basic stuff right? You just cycle through things like shape of their face, their eyes...then work on hair style, or maybe try to identify any scars they might have, you know just approach it with logic. But you can't be completely nervous about it if you want to do it enough to pursue it. I'm sure you would love it," Ciarra said knowing her friend a bit more than most did. She may love her job but it had to be boring.
