    Your Nickname:Chris
Have you read and do you agree to the Code of Conduct?: Sure do!
How did you find us and decide to write with us? I've been here since the beginning.
If you have written other characters here, list them all: Pretty much just Marcus Annwyl.

    Full Character Name: Vane Hendric

City & Country of Birth: London, England
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn?: Pureblood
    Alma Mater: Hogwarts; Hufflepuff.
Job: Werewolf Hunter, and Potions Master
Creature type: Werewolf. He is the very thing that he hates.
    Ex: Registered Werewolf, Unregistered Vampire,
Loyal House-Elf, Treasury Guild Goblin, etc.

Employed? If yes, where and for how long: He is self-employed. His reputation gives him the opportunity to take jobs where he is the most needed.

Where does your character spend the most time?: Since moving back to London, he has rented out a small flat. It's more or less just a place to sleep. A few miles outside of the British Isles, he has a cave that he uses as a Safe House. It's unconnected to the Floo Network, and can only be travelled to by broom or by Apperation.

What is your understanding of your character's special abilities or
    attributes and weaknesses?
On a full moon night, he's a slave to his dark half; the werewolf that begs to be let out. His Wolfsbane potion keeps it at bay, but he dreads the night that the potion just won't be enough. His cave is far enough away from civilization that he won't have to worry so much about that day.

He's used his decades-long affliction to better understand the mentality of the werewolf, so he can be a better hunter.

Wand: Alderwood, with a rigid strength and a smooth finish, dyed black; Chimera Scale core. This wand was one he gained in a duel with a powerful Dark Wizard. He's had it customized to possess a silver tip, ideal for his werewolf hunting.

Physical Description:He's a bulky man who carries himself very nimbly. He is rarely without his weighted cloak and his robes which have been outfitted with metal plates in select places. They are his best defense against being injured in his line of work.

    (Optional list)
    Build/Body type: Muscular
    Estimated Height/Weight: 6'7"; 260lbs.
    Hair color: Dark Brown
    Eye color: Blue
    Skin color: Slight tan
    First Impression: Imposing
Any odd/outstanding features?: He always has a thick beard stubble. He's rarely in a position where he can shave.

Is your character a dark creature?: My understanding of werewolves in the HP universe tells me that no, I am not a dark character. Plus, his fur is more of a gray than a real dark tone. Pa-zing!
Is your character currently under pursuit by the Ministry of Magic? No. In fact, he's been contracted by them a couple of times.

Personality Description: Vane Hendric is a loner by nature. His job makes it easy for him to give up things like human emotion and friendships. That said, he's pretty easy to work with when he is forced to team up. He's not the nicest or friendliest person to be around, and his size and affliction don't really help his case. His life has been filled with loss and death, hate and betrayal. For him, there's no going back to the man he once was so long ago.

    History:
Vampires and Werewolves should include how they became a
vampire or werewolf. House-elves should include any terms of
service for a house-hold. Ghosts should include manner of death,
    place haunted, etc.

    Just some points of interest:

    - Vane Hendric was born to a middle class family, and always had a strong support structure growing up.

    - Vane Hendric and Fenrir Greyback were once friends. They were both attacked and turned by the same werewolf. Before the incident, Vane had been an Auror-In-Training.

    - Over the years, Fenrir gave in to his darker half, while Vane resisted it.

    - Fenrir killed an innocent man, and Vane decided enough was enough and abandoned Fenrir as a friend and ally.

    - Fenrir took it personally and enacted revenge for what he considered a betrayal on Vane's part. He killed Vane's family, the only people he truly loved. Vane chose at that moment to hunt down any and all werewolves. No one should have to suffer the way he did.

    - Vane stopped his training as an Auror and became a drifter, taking odd jobs while learning how to control his dark half. The death of his family at the hands of his best friend changed him forever. He became a loner, resisting any opportunity for human connections.

    - He eventually gained a mastery over potions, and learned how to brew his own Wolfsbane. He would later use his knowledge to create several different potions to help in his war against werewolves.

    - Vane lands a job near his hometown to remove a bandit threat. He tracks the group to a cave a few miles west of the mainland, and captures them. He keeps the cave as a hideout for his dark half.

    - A victorious duel with the Dark Wizard Xian gave Vane the wand he would use for the rest of his life.

    - Over the course of several decades, Vane develops a hatred for the werewolf, and slowly begins to succumb to the animal that lives inside him.

    - News of Fenrir Greyback's demise reaches Vane across the ocean to America, where Vane has been contracted for his assistance. It saddens him to remember Greyback before the infection took over his mind. Vane only wished though that it could have been him to get the final shot in.

    - After spending almost a decade in America, Vane finds himself back in London, where he recieves an unexpected message from someone he had teamed up with once before. The wizard's name was Alexander Belisario, and he had requested that he train his daughter, Ciarra. Vane iinitially refused to be a "daycare provider", but then saw what the young Auror-In-Training was capable of. It reminded him of himself a long long time ago. So he took her under his wing, and trained her in the most brutal, and effective, way possible.

    - Vane had gotten work of an up and coming werewolf threat culminating in his hometown. Figuring this would be the best time to test his proficiency as a teacher, travelled back to London with his apprentice Ciarra Belisario in tow.

What is your occupation? How do you go about it?
How did you get your current occupation?
How does your past and abilities justify your current skills?:

His history speaks for himself. He uses his affliction to gain an advantage on the werewolves he hunts. He's killed his fair share, but always as a last resort. With the werewolf threat looming at the London Ministry of Magic, Vane has been contracted by the Minister of Magic to assist in any way he can to prevent things from getting any worse.

    Writing Sample:
Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects
of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.

The countryside of Muggle London was ripe with activity. For the past year, on the night of every full moon, cattle would turn up dead. Their bodies mutilated by claw marks, and left half eaten and bloated by the coming morning. The countryside has it's advantages; wide open spaces, barely a person around when the change happens, when the dark half takes over. The downside being that if someone wanted to track down said activity, all they have to do is look for the patterns. There was a nice little area of activity, all localized near one little cottage.

Vane knocked on the door, and waited for a response. Nothing. So Vane knocked again. Eventually, a man opened the door and greeted him. He was small (for a man's height), and he looked like he didn't weigh much either. "Hello, what can we do for you?"

The man was friendly enough. "The name's Vane Hendric, I work with the Ministry of Magic in London. Mind if I ask you a few questions?"

He laughed at Vane. "London, huh? Aren't you a bit out of the city limits!"

Vane wasn't amused by the man's attempt at humor. "I'd like to ask you a few questions." Vane looked to his right and saw a face spying him from the curtains of a window to the house. "May I come in?"

"Um, what is it that you need to know?"

"There have been several suspected werewolf attacks in the area. Your area. Have you heard anything about it?"

"Nope. Sorry." The man quickly said, before shutting the door on Vane.

Vane took several attempts to be courteous to them, knocking on the door and getting more stern every time. By the fifth request, Vane was getting his wand ready. "If you don't open this door, I'm opening it for you! 3...2..."

The door slowly opened, leaving only a crack between it and the frame. Vane readied his wand and kicked the door open. He cautiously moved in, scanning the immediate area. In the corner of his eye, to his right, he noticed a faint green glow getting brighter as it got closer...

Sum up your character in one paragraph: He's infinitely trustworthy, but not the kind of guy you can instantly trust. He doesn't give off the signals as one of the good guys, but his motives are pure. He has spent his entire life keeping the werewolf within him from taking over, only to dedicate his entire life to capturing, trapping, and (if necessary) killing werewolves. When he's on the hunt he has a single-minded focus. He has no compassion for them and, if he has to, he was no qualms about ending their life.
