Flynn Hughes is  working on a werewolf cure. Apparently the research got set back after the weird wolfsbane hybrid he created got damaged in a burglary. It seems that he may be getting close to the testing phase, though that's just a rumor.
Rumour has it that Margo Amherst,  owner of Death & Co, is secretly a vampire! Most suggestive of this is her rash decision to abandon the Ministry's fourth floor and embark on a career that allows for late night working hours.

February 17, 2011: Fergus McPherson and Primrose Woolfolk got into a verbal disagreement that turned into a duel.  McPherson cast a rather nasty boil hex on Woolfolk and enlarged her teeth.  Woolfolk, in response,  cast a locomotor mortis charm followed by silencio and then removed his tongue.  Both were quickly transported to St. Mungo's for spell reversal.

Overheard at a Notting Hill dinner fete thrown by Agatha Pendragon and her husband of twenty years Barnabas Cuffe: not so vague declaration that Genevieve Garcia-Gamp could be Cuffe's own daughter. Now wouldn't that be a family reunion...
Rumors from inside the Daily Prophet claim that Barnabas Cuffe hasn't been seen since the 23rd of January 2012. Speculations include he finally kicked the bucket or got committed to St. Mungo's in a psychotic break after being blamed for the anti-werewolf fliers.
