[Sept 19th] Friday Night I crashed your party... [Charlotte]

After a day of flying, Jax enjoyed kicking back relaxing and well enjoying his time off. The friends all went on their merry way, plans to meet up that evening still hung in the aire like the fall breeze he could feel as it crept up on the unsuspecting folks wandering in and out of the knot holes the live in. There was little routine to his life, in order to make him a little more home bound he went off and bought a puppy a month or two prior to getting his new flat. The puppy, an English Bulldog, was brilliant he was feisty and full of energy much like his owner. The biggest benefit was the fact that dogs were natural bird magnets. When a girl saw a bloke walking a pup they saw them as the caring sensitive type, and for some reason thought he was the kind that they could trust with removing their unmentionables. Jax was all to happy to oblige while the puppy would often end up carrying off shoes or bras left discarded in the hall way of his flat.

Jax named the pup Archie and the two were a pair to be reckoned with. With his natural charisma and famous mug gracing much of the latest magazines, Jax was pleased to report an up swing on his nightly shenanigans. They increased when adding in the cute puppy factor to the equation. Watching other blokes floundering in pubs and clubs, Jax wondered if he should give them the secret weapon, instead he just watched as they struck out one after another.

When he was younger, Jax had been there. If he hadn't struck out as often as he did he never would have learned what he needed to survive without attachment. Moira taught him that by dropping him like a hot rock after their last year in school. Suffering from that misstep gave him the drive to better himself and move away from feeling that torture ever again. The love he thought he felt for her became loathing, and he soon found womanizing easier than connections.

Walking into his flat there was a scratching and scrapping that could only be attributed to the sound of his puppy scurrying down the hall to his arms. Picking the pup up he chuckled as it licked his face, "Wanna go out?" He could hear the pup bring up a small bark as he hopped out of Jax's arms and started to circle at his feet. Pulling off the leash from the wall hook near the door he clipped it on the green collar around Archie's neck and lead him outside. The puppy moved like a moth to a flame knowing the park location better than the direction to his food bowl. The pair moved seamlessly through the alley towards the streets leading him to a blissfully muggle free park, where he could walk the dog and not feel pestered. Finding their stride once they arrived, Jax moved while the puppy hopped about towards bugs and passers by.

Friday. At last. Charlotte had had quite the busy week, what with being a charitable social butterfly and all... She and Lia must have sauntered in and out of at least a dozen soirees in the span of four nights, and that didn’t count the non-business related activities (like shopping, lunching, and moaning over the inadequacy of mankind’s majority). All in all, it had been a successful week for the young St. James woman, who was now very much enjoying her ‘time off’ from her non-career by picnicking alone in pretty park near her penthouse flat.

A very inconvenient, lavender-silk-and-faux-mink blanket was spread on the grass and beds of leaves. She missed the summer, when she could wear less and bask more in the rare London sunshine, but she also liked the autumn made her feel. Spread on the blanket in a favorite sweater and silky stay-ups, the young woman flicked through a new magazine. A thermos of tea and a small box of ladyfingers, apple slices, and cucumber sandwiches sat beside her on the blanket, along and discarded camel coat and her reed wand, which was lit to provide light as the sun made its descent and the moon hinted at taking its place. Charlotte lay on her stomach, her legs crossed behind her so that her heeled boots, tapping innocently on the material, nevertheless looked somewhat dangerous to passersby.

In her wan blue peripheral, Charlotte spotted something distinctly cuddly and adorable. Tearing her eyes away from a papparazzi feature on Ajax “Jax” Woolfolk of Magpies fame (who happened to be a blue-blooded ex-classmate, for good measure), the young woman looked up for a more properly selfish view of the puppy trotting by on the park’s smooth, snaking path.

But it wasn’t the bundle of painfully precious puppy which held her attention, so much as the man walking the cute canine. He bore a striking resemblance to the same handsome face plastered in the tabloid feature, and Charlotte immediately realized that he was, in fact, the very same Jax Woolfolk.

Lips parting and brows raising, she sat up a little and tilted her head of dark locks at her old schoolmate. “Jax Woolfolk,” She spoke casually, crawling forward just a bit (and as gracefully as she could manage) to give the purebred dog a gentle, if uninvited scratch behind the ear. She waited for the man’s reply, wondering what he had been up to, and why such a busy quidditch player was now caring for a dog. With a flick of her wrist, she closed her magazine and offered him a smile. "What a stud," she said, cooing at the animal. Clearly, she meant the man, though she spoke to the dog, as if he were the handsome knockout of the two.

Score one for a puppy getting the ladies attention. Jax trotted up behind the little tugging ball of fur and wrinkles. The soft grass was squashed as he moved quickly towards the intended target lounging out on the grass gracefully. Eying his prey from heel to hip to chest to face, Jax was almost caught off guard with the recognition of the beauty before him. Surely it would seem a man about town such as himself would know people when he ran into them, and when their face didn't quite strike a chord, he was generally known to them.

It was a rare occasion when Jax was out on the town that he wasn't approached by someone who knows him by trade or his past. While in school his motivations were skirt chasing related rather than book learning, there were plenty of stories leaked to the media about his lack of academic work ethic and constant philandering.

His flat wasn't too far off from the park, it was a brief walk to get there. The park being so close was a large reason for purchasing the piece of property. When he realized how easy it would be to go jogging, walking, and for all intensive purposes chat up female joggers and picnickers, it was a no brainer. The choice was simple and became even easier when the puppy came into his life. There would need to be a place where the two of them as a unit could get exercise, and somewhere he could train the little rascal.

Archie padded about near the pretty witch eagerly nuzzling her free hand. "Why hello there," giving her a patented Woolfolk grin, Jax realized how he knew her. The two hadn't spoken in years, what was her name? Jasmine... no that was the waitress the other week. No her name started with a C. Perhaps it was Carrie, or Carla... As he approached her features became more familiar.

"Charlotte..." he said quietly to himself. The name rang in his ears and jived with the face, "Charlotte St. James, what a small world this is. I see you met Archie," he knelt down as the puppy padded about playfully running over to his master and then back to the female who appeared to have treats all about her. "Long time no see, what have you been doing with yourself?"

Charlotte pursed her lips into a pouting kiss, teasing the irresistibly teddy-bear-cute dog, and turning her cheek toward him just in time to spare her mouth. The puppy licked the side of her face and Charlotte squeezed her eyes and scrunched her nose in hidden (or not so hidden) delight. Puppies were immune to the rules of germs and slobber. They were simply too cute. Much easier to kiss than babies, it seemed.

When he spoke her name, she finally looked up at the man who-- Charlotte wasn’t blind, after all-- had certainly aged nicely, and was even more devilishly glorious in appearance than he had been in school... where, of course, his golden hair and seductive smile had also many a hearts. If Charlotte hadn’t been fooling around a man twice her age, and if Jax hadn’t been enamored with that silly Ravenclaw, she might have tried her luck then. What girl wouldn’t have?

Secretly pleased he remembered her-- though her ego wouldn’t allow her to admit this aloud-- Charlotte smiled brightly and continued to smooth the puppy’s permanent wrinkles with one manicured hand. “I didn’t know you were a father,” she teased. “Hello, Archie,” she added, looking down again at the dog, who seemed to know its name, and also the extent of its own adorableness. There was no other reason it could have responded with that cute, floppy, puppyish pounce.

Standing slowly, Charlotte held out her hand to the quidditch star. “I’ve been... Mmm...” She seemed to ponder it for a moment before giving an answer. “Trying all sorts of things,” she said at last, trying to keep it vague. She didn’t, technically, have a job, though she spent a good chunk of her time participating in benefits and investing money. “Nothing as exciting as playing for an international team.”

Shifting slightly, she crossed one heeled boot behind her and managed to shift her discarded coat atop the magazine. “Are you only visiting or do you live around here? I haven’t seen you,” she said suspiciously, raising a brow and smirking just barely. "I heard your brother is a professor now. Two very different lives for the Woolfolk boys..."

The way the puppy was attacking her face with kisses, he had to admit he was a rather proud poppa. Obviously the little pup was learning from his father's (Jax's) tutelage. Watching the puppy go from his out stretched arm and then back to Charlotte, he had to let out a small chuckle. Attention whore.... he muttered as the puppy circled and ran towards the food she had laying close by.

Pulling on the lead he laughed in a bark like shout, "Woah there Archie, we don't want to eat the pretty lady's food..." There were little things that could make a girl fancy someone, or find interest for an evening. Most often relied on by the male gender was liquor and poor judgment. Jax had a few more tricks up his sleeve, the arsenal he brought with him was fame, charisma, and now the newest member was Archie.

Sure it was cheap, it was still one of his tactics. Jax never had to explain his methods, so people who looked in on him might think he was that good. No the fact of the matter was Jax knew manipulation like the back of his hand.

The face wasn't immediately clear, though once he had said her name it was crystal before him. There was no doubt in Jax's mind that he was looking at Charlotte St. James a former school mate.

Nothing as exciting as playing for an international team.”

"Ah saw that did you. Yes, I do know my way around a pitch. Though that should would have been evident back in school," it was a little presumptuous that people would figure his future career based off school play. Not every star quidditch player came from Hogwarts, nor would that ever be the case. Jax just knew he was not meant for a simple nine to five pushing papers or hating his job like Ministry workers. Beaming at her with a cocky grin, he looked around "Mind if I sit?" He took a seat near her before she could answer.

When she mentioned his brother Jax shrugged, "We can't all bring in the gold." Never could he understand why his little brother wanted to be around children. "The grubby little brats are sure to bother him, I have no idea why he chose that job..." That and the worst thing was the devil spawn was now in school. Who would want to be around her?

“Oh, no, feel free to finish it off,” she offered, speaking as much to the man as to the puppy. Not that most twenty-something males (or dogs, for that matter) were fans of cucumber sandwiches, but a girl had to keep her figure. “I was going to throw it at the ducks, anyway... which I’m sure isn’t very ethical. Or legal.” But who was watching? She winked as she straightened up more properly.

Laughing lightly, Charlotte shrugged. There was an innocence in her eyes, but certainly not in her demeanor. “That’s right...” She mused aloud slowly. “You did play quidditch for Slytherin.” She hadn’t forgotten; no one would have. “And for free,” she marveled, still teasing him. With a flash of a grin, the young woman acknowledged the truth: he was impressive, and he had been impressive several years ago, too.

Returning to her place on the blanket she motioned with her head for him to join her. Who was she to refuse such an upstanding citizen?

Mmhmm...

Reaching into her picnic basket, she pulled out dessert: a bottle of red wine.

“I only brought one goblet,” she said, none too apologetically. Handing the bottle over the Jax, she meant for him to do the honors of opening it. “And I’m sure your brother is doing fine. He was just peachy the last time we talked. But...” She leaned forward a bit, reaching out to give Archie another rub as she stared at the eldest Woolfolk son. “I wouldn’t want to work with children all day, either.” She turned her attention to the dog, smiling down at him. “Most of them aren’t half as cute as Archie. My cousin’s children may be the exception-- shame their parents are a mess right now.” Oops, had she just divulged that delicate information?

Archie pulled on his lead padding towards the sandwiches. Rolling his eyes, Jax watched the puppy come near the closest morsel stiff it and realize that was not something he wanted to get into. Turning tail he headed back towards Jax who allowed the pup to crawl onto his lap and make a little home for himself. Archie had defenses most people didn't, the cuteness factor would protect him for a while. Not to mention that he had a spiffing personality, if Archie had no people skills it was unlike Jax would have snatched him up the way he did.

“You did play quidditch for Slytherin.”

A smirk crossed his lips, "Aye that I did. Loved those days too, adoring fans and rivals at every turn quite exciting. Cannot say there is the same sort of excitement with the big leagues, not stuck living next to the Cannons or the Falcons or sharing the same great hall." Not that he was down playing the rivalries that existed because they were ever present and focused in his mind. Jax just saw it as less pressing when the nitwits he had to fly against weren't less than half a castle away. It wasn't like he was playing against teenage hormones anymore, so the game became more serious.

His time on the Pitch against real teams, not Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, meant he had to play like every game was his last. Jax dove for quaffles in ways he never attempted in Hogwarts. Flying was an art, and his canvas was the rings. Protecting the rings and keeping his team on top meant he was a master of his craft, though he was not perfect his record was stellar and he was pleased with his work always trying to improve.

Taking the seat offered, he shifted while his puppy flopped about again moving to circle Charlotte for another round of attention. "Ah, one goblet suppose we will have to make that work yes?" She didn't seem that disappointed by it, and neither was he. Popping the top of the bottle as he listened to her go on about her cousin's family. "A mess you say? That is truly a shame..." Women tended to talk more than needed but when they were that good looking he let them roll on whichever way they wish. "Archie seems to like you plenty I think, good boy" he said giving the puppy a small wink before handing the bottle back to Charlotte.

“No...” She frowned apologetically, almost sympathetically at the-- she had no qualms admitting to to herself-- ridiculously good looking young man. “Now you only share high salaries and exclusive parties. Where’s the fun in that?” Sarcasm, obviously. Charlotte loved a good party. In fact, she was fairly certain both she and Jax Woolfolk were categorically ‘the life of the party’. If the papers had anything to say about it. (Not to mention Charlotte’s academic memories). “I know I miss the quaintness of the Great Hall. Cold porridge and classes before dawn.” Alright, perhaps she was exaggerating... Hogwarts had been rather fun at times, and the elves had been good at their jobs.

She smiled, quite pleased when he sat down beside her. Anyone in passing might have thought it was too much pretty for one little square of the park-- the blond Quidditch stud, the brunette socialite, and the wrinkly, frolicsome puppy. And the wine.

One couldn’t forget a good bottle of elf-made wine. That was what made a real party.

“Of course he likes me. You both have good taste, don’t you?” She challenged, studying him closely for a reply.

Accepting the opened bottle from Jax, Charlotte, tilted her head a bit to absorb his expression while she slowly poured the aromatic, blushing spirit into the goblet. After the appropriate swirl, she toasted Jax silently, and raised the cup to her lips to take a brief sip. A test. “Perfect,” she announced, offering the other side of the cup to her fellow ex-Slytherin. She propped the open bottle against the picnic basket and settled onto her side, hand holding her cheek as she prepared to make light (or not so light) conversation.

“She’s hopeless. But let’s not talk about Quincy. We’ll be here all night.” And they obviously both had other things to do. Like each other. Perhaps, if all went smoothly, they could entertain one another that evening. “So where’s your place? The real estate around is soaring. I’d love to see where a Magpie hides out.” That wasn’t too blunt or anything.

“Now you only share high salaries and exclusive parties. Where’s the fun in that?”

Spoken like a woman who never felt the rush of the wind in her hair, or the feeling of other players chasing their tail through the sky. It was not for the faint of heart, or weak of stomach. Those who made a living in the skies were generally free spirited. There was never a person he came in contact who was tense if they were into the sport, not in a strung out sense, more intense for the game.

There were the rare group who didn't partake in the parties, he was not such a bloke. Jax was known well for his hard partying ways as well as his love for having gaggles of women following his ever move. "Yes thankfully such a heavy burden falls on my lot instead of your own." Giving her a playful wink as he took the goblet in his hands. Inhaling deeply he could smell the aroma. It was sweet, he enjoyed the bouquet he brought the rim of the chalice to his lips and took a sip. "Ah very good indeed, you know your wine that is a good sign."

“I know I miss the quaintness of the Great Hall. Cold porridge and classes before dawn.”

"Ah, my memory is a little foggy there... I don't remember that as much as the locker room and well snogging lasses in broom closets," well it was several girls until Moira came and killed that. Moira changed him greatly, he went from being romantic to womanizing. It might not have killed the pain, but it worked for the most part. Jax just buried the feeling, down down deep locking it away.

Pointing in the direction of his apartment complex he leaned back on his hands, "Aye the properties are getting scooped up by societies well to do. Archie has been finding himself in the company of a lot of rich pups, though I happen to think he is much better than their rat dogs." He leaned in a little to hand her back the goblet, "I would be happy to show you where the Magpies like to relax when we aren't flying." His blue eyes sparkled a little with mischief as he drank in the lass before his very optics,  she was definitely gorgeous and only grew more so since their time in school.

"Yes thankfully such a heavy burden falls on my lot instead of your own."

Charlotte let out a little, flustered laugh. He was a clever fox, wasn’t he? “Oh, I don’t know... I get into quite the predicaments sometimes. Slaving over martini glasses and chocolate fountains isn’t as easy as it looks. Have you ever tried to stay away from a chocolate fountain after giving it a taste?”

Wine, however, wasn’t as naughty... or maybe it was, and that was exactly the way Charlotte liked it.

“Who did you snog in broom closets?” She challenged. Certainly it hadn’t been her. What a shame. “I thought you were all over that Ravenclaw-- what was her name?” She asked, as if she couldn’t recall. That would have been boring, almost a travesty to admit to remembering. “I would have liked to get under the skin of Demetri, but he was sort of funny in school,” she mused aloud. “He doesn’t age, does he?” Fountain of youth... and good times? “Anyway, I went for the older ones.” As in at least a decade graduated, and with a short stretch of time in which to produce heirs. Rest in peace, Adam. Rest in peace.

Though she still wore the engagement ring as a token of pride-- and really, because it looked so lovely on her hand-- Charlotte was careful not to wear it on the ‘Oops, I’m taken’ hand. Instead she let the obscenely large diamond decorate her middle finger. She was always on the prowl for fresh entertainment, and the Magpies Keeper seemed the perfect target of her attention. Blue-blooded, monied, and simply gorgeous. She could only imagine the physique under his stylish attire...

Charlotte’s hand brushed purposely against Jax’s as she took the cup back and sipped from it again. This time her lips touched the same place he’d drunk from. “It sounds like Archie needs a proper, friend then...” Her voice grew a bit higher, more babyish as she looked back to the puppy. She couldn’t help it. It was almost painful, how cute he was. “I’ve always wanted one, but I can never decide.”

Her eyes lighting up, she finished off the goblet and lay it back in her picnic basket before standing up and smoothing her dress. She gave a wave of her wand, and everything packed itself away. The blanket became animated, tugging impatiently under the Woolfolk man. “How about right now?” She asked, smiling down at him. Looking in both directions, almost comically, Charlotte bent down to pick up the basket and bottle of wine. She gave it a quick swig, not bothering to fetch the goblet again. “Don’t tell on me. I promise I don’t regularly get arrested for public drunkenness.”

Jax listened intently as she laid his woes onto him. "Oh how terrible, how do you deal with such a dreadful life? I can only imagine how difficult it is to live that way. I will be certain to keep my eyes on any roving chocolate fountains who wish to entice me with their cocoa decadence," his eyes moved onto her brown curls drawing him in more than any chance at sweets he knew of. This luscious treat was all the sugar he figured he would need.

Archie was pleased to see the pair chit chatting, though he could sense a change in his master's mood when the question of who the Ravenclaw was in school. "Moira..." he muttered regrettably, "We all make mistakes... she just happened to be one of my many." No one was perfect, and if he knew where he would be standing at the end of that coupling he never would attempted it in the first place. "Though there were plenty of others who made their way into the broom closets with me before she came into view..." he was known as a player before her and had increased his antics afterward.

There was many things liked already about Charlotte, the knew one another from the past and she grew up to be quite the knock out. The only draw back, a nagging one, was her constant need to discuss his meddling baby brother. Jax was as close to Demetri as one could be to a little brother. At least he cared more for Demetri than their spawn of the dark mark sister. Jax liked his brother, he just preferred not to hear his name linger on the lips of Charlotte when he was busy flirting with her on a blanket in the park.

Interested in a puppy of her own, he thought about that with growing curiosity. Filing it away for a later date, Jax continued to think about the here and now. What he had in his presence was a woman dripping with beauty, elegance, and class.

Watching her polish off the glass of wine, he helped her clean up the items around them. Archie bounded about knowing full well that they would be walking soon, and he was eager to make a move. As was his master feeling a little rush when she asked to see his flat, "What better time than now to show my humble abode to a lovely lady?" Once their former space was clear he held out his arm to take hers, "Allow me to escort you miss..." he grinned a mischievous smirk at her as intentions spun about in his head.

“I would marry a man who would move chocolate fountains for me,” she teased. Well, perhaps not, since, technically, magic made it rather easy. But still, one would have to have quite the pair of... well, it was better left unsaid. But making such a scene at a party just to pleased the spoiled St. James woman would be quite the feat. Not that she expected Jax Woolfolk to be so involved in pleasing her. Not yet, anyway.

Undoubtedly, they were each working on each other. It was what happened when two beautiful and confident people came into contact. Especially when it was a reunion of sorts.

“Moira, right,” she said vaguely, and quite uninspired, as if she were remembering a face she’d forgotten entirely. “I never understand what you saw in her,” she admitted candidly. “Did she have ladybits made of gold, or...?” Tilting her head with mock innocence, Charlotte waited for an answer. Of course, she’d known he’d been something of a playboy pre-Ravenclaw-infatuation. She’d simply chosen to forget when she prodded him about Moira. Something about those stuffy squares who were always studying seemed to trap the best of Salazar’s clan.

Remembering another thing she wished to appear to have forgotten-- and, presumably, Jax had-- Charlotte carefully tread around the edges of her teenage years and youthful desires. “And you didn’t have a single rendezvous when you were latched onto her?” She kept her voice light, humorous. She wondered whether he remembered a time when she’d approached him, only weeks before she’d made eye contact with her future fiance in Hogsmeade. It had been after a game, a smashing Slytherin victory, and she’d try to flirt her way into a more adventurous scenario with the older boy.

With the puppy bouncing behind them, Charlotte held onto Jax’s arm and moved gracefully, rather poisonously in the direction he’d noted. He was leading the way, of course. The park was beautiful at this hour, and Charlotte was glad the traffic through its reaches was calm. The rustling leaves and scenic and spreads of grass and trees seemed to compliment the rather aesthetically pleasing pair. They took their merry time, but still reached Jax’s building briefly. It was a blue chip location. “I’m jealous,” she announced, waiting for him to lead her up. “This is closer to the park than my place. How did you get your mits on it? I bet you aren’t even here half the time...” She appraised him suspiciously, with dancing eyes. Quidditch players traveled a lot.

Archie was leading the way more than Jax. He was enjoying the little witty chit chat they were exchanging back and forth. The eyes of people as they passed made him smirk, there were surely going to be whispers about this meeting in the next tabloid publication. Jax could see the pair of them splashed on a cover of some cheap two knut rag, looking for the pull of the house witches and frumpy wizards making a living with their nose to the grind stone, they seemed to need a jolt of sleaze to make it through their bland colorless workaday lives.

Jax didn't mind making the paper, he was in there often. Mostly they wrote about his constant partying, and choice of ales at local pubs. When he made the papers and magazines for his conquests however he actually enjoyed picking up a copy to see what they got right and what was flawed from the word go.

This time, he was attracted to say the least so it wouldn't be terrible for them to key in on his need. Jax figured by her desire to see his flat she mirrored his own want, and needed the opening to do so. Archie however was along for the walk enjoying the company as he did all of Jax's lady friends.

“Did she have ladybits made of gold, or...?”

He rolled his eyes, "Not hardly. I have to say it was misjudgment on my part, foolishly I thought she felt something that she didn't. Never would I play the fool again," his voice matched his intensity.

“And you didn’t have a single rendezvous when you were latched onto her?”

Jax shrugged, "No, if you can believe it I stayed faithful to the bint only to have myself kicked to the curb in the end. Think of all the fine birds I missed out on due to my decision to stay faithful to the wrong person. Believe you me, there is plenty of regret there." They made their steps towards the flat enjoying the scenery, "Enough about her, I forgot about her until you brought her up." Moira was not a conversation piece by any stretch.

"I know a guy who knows a guy," he replied coyly making his way up his steps. His arm had been crooked around hers, this time however he allowed his hand to make it's way down her forearm and to her waiting hand. Unlocking the doorway he used this time to allow Archie to fly up the steps as he led the beautiful St. James woman into his waiting flat. "I might not be here for much of the time, but when I am I make the most of it." That's when he decided to make his move based on the blatant signals being shot in his direction. There in the door frame however he pulled her into his body pressing her lightly against the door way he grinned before pressing his lips to hers. Allowing his hand to find her cheek, he brushed the soft skin there with his thumb enjoying the taste of her sweet lips. There the wine had lingered waiting for him to sample it once more.

Charlotte’s lips became a frown, or a smirk, or a funny frowning smirk of sorts. Luckily, she has nice features, and this new, strange expressions wasn’t insanely off-putting. He’d remained faithful. How sweet. But hadn’t Charlotte done the same, where Adam Sugarbee was concerned? Well, mostly... she’d certainly flirted while still in school, but who could blame her? Her last years, however, had been particularly minx-like. Whenever a boy got a little too friendly, she simply flashed the pretty engagement ring under his eyes and flitted away with a catch-me-if-you-can smile. And they never did manage to catch her. Not quite.

But before Adam, she’d been curious about a lot of the dashing darlings of Slytherin’s elite. Jax Woolfolk had most definitely been one of them. Whether he remembered or not, she would leave it to him to say. Or so Charlotte thought as they walked toward his place. “Yes, all of those fine birds,” she lamented, picking up on his phrase and emphasizing it in a teasing tone.

Her eyes caught his when he said he’d forgotten about the plain, good-natured Ravenclaw turned heartbreaker; whether it was true or not was irrelevant. Charlotte was pacified. There were more exciting people to remember... like Miss St. James. And here they were, having their own little private class reunion, even they hadn’t been in the same year, and if the festivities were bound to include new activities rather than recollections of past episodes.

“I know a lot of guys,” she defended. “But none who have helped me find a place like this. I’ll need to speak to your guy...” She grinned at him, squeezing his arm just a bit as they ascended. He took her hand a moment later and Charlotte felt-- well, there was no other word for it-- a jump in heart. How long had it been since a man had done that to her? Usually she was the one producing such feelings in other people. With an innocent little gleam in her eyes.

“The most of it, hmm--” But her question was cut off. Charlotte found herself pushed gently into the door’s frame. It was perhaps the most comfortable door frame she’d ever found herself in, or maybe it was just the view of the young man in front of her that made it so devilishly delightful. Returning the kiss with hesitation, she lazily linked her arms around his neck, letting them hang loosely, elegantly, while their lips had a formal meeting. She pulled away only to murmur. “So good to see you again, Woolfolk. You’ve really grown up, haven’t you?”

Though not officially invited any further than the threshold, Charlotte tugged at the man’s coat, willing him further into the warmth of his flat. The dog at their ankles made a stumbling dance of things, and Charlotte laughed between kisses and tugs. She held onto him to balance herself and pressed her lips to the place between his aristocratic jawline and warm neck. “Why wasn't I ever invited into the broom closet?” She found herself asking, though she’d vowed not to be the one to bring it up. She lifted her wand behind his back and gently shut the still-open door.

Jax hadn't had some shiny ring to fight off women, instead what he had was the loyalty which had remained steady and solid. There was a bounty of beauties he missed out on courting because of his stupid desire to remain true to someone who would only leave him devastated in the end. Oh well there was no use crying over spilled lipstick.

The flat was well furnished, much of it in black and white. Archie had bounded over to a large pillow near the side of a black leather couch in the middle of his living room. Allowing himself to be guided into the flat more he made sure to turn and lock the door as he was pulled from the frame. "You obviously do not know the right guys, they would have shown you the proper places to look." To think he was doing so well right there, she however had a look in her eyes telling him to give a tour... Or at least to get his silly arse into the room.

Not releasing her hand he smiled when she said he had grown up, "It is very good to see you again as well, I do hope that I will have a chance to see you more often." Smirking when she said that he had grown up he puffed out his chest a little, "That I have. Grown up and filled out in all the right places, which I must say you have done yourself." Looking her over approvingly then he pulled her a little closer, "So this is home would I'm sure you would like some sort of a tour, but how about some more wine first?"

Looking over at his pup he noticed Archie had dragged a large bone over to his designated black cushion. There the little puppy was sure to gnaw happily on the bone while he entertained his guest. Pointing his wand at the wizard wireless a gentle hum of music started to play as he escorted her to the living room. "I'll be right back," he took her hand and softly kissed her knuckles before making his way to the kitchen. Grabbing up two glasses he poured some sweet red wine from a bottle that was chilled in the fridge and brought it to the waiting beauty occupying space in his living room. Holding the glass out to her he smiled drinking her in against the furnishing in his flat, yes he most certainly liked how she looked in there. "So Charlotte, what do you do for fun other than charm people who are taking walks in the park," he took a seat on one side of the leather couch patting the cushion beside him beckoning her towards him.
