An Improbable Communication [Fauna Blake] on November 05, 2009, 07:11:35 PM A letter arrives in the Great Hall at dinner time, unannounced and off-schedule from the usual mail deliveries, carried by a rather large and persistant barn owl. It is written on heavy parchment and in an orderly yet flowing script and bears a Ministry Seal on the back.T. One that is quite annoyed at being reduced to Post like some inferior bird. Instead of the Great Hall, the elf discretely arrives in the Hufflepuff common room to seek out her prey.T. Please arrive at the new Infirmatory on the Hogwarts Grounds promptly at 1200 hours on the before-mentioned date. The previous return owl will suffice as confirmation. Your discretion would be much appreciated. Tamis M. It had attracted some attention, but she’d simply written back as fast as she could while the owl pecked at her impatiently.Suddenly, as she was dipping her quill in the ink well, a loud pop sounded and Fauna’s hand jerked, upsetting the ink. Then she saw what had made the noise- a very grouchy house elf blinked over the table at her and handed her another letter, vanishing as soon as Fauna opened it.More confused and worried than ever, she read it over, shook her head at her housemate’s questions, and retreated to her dorm room to put the letter in a safe place. She’d meant to come back to the common room and clean up the spilled ink and her homework, but that thought quickly left her head as soon as she reached her room and sat on her bed, staring into space with a dazed expression. What in the world was she supposed to expect on September 14, at 1200 hours?
