    Good to go! - Niobe/Sarah

    About You, the Writer:
    Your Nickname: Tess
Have you read and do you agree to the Code of Conduct?: Yup.
How did you find us and decide to write with us? Found it on rpg-directory.com.
If you have written other characters here, list them all:  I only have this one.

Full Character Name: Adrienna Marie Hayes
Character Birthday & Age: January 23, 1993, and she is 15.
City & Country of Birth: Harlow, Essex, London
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Halfblood
House & Year: Ravenclaw, 5th year

    Talents/Skills: Quidditch, Art
Birth Order: 2nd and last Hayes child
Siblings: Andrew Oliver Hayes, age 19 to date; Adrienna and Andrew were close when they were younger.  Adrienna often confided in Andrew things she wouldn’t normally tell anyone else, but as time went on and especially after Andrew began to attend Hogwarts, they grew apart.  Andrew was seen less and less around the Hayes’ home, and then the tension peaked the night Andrew arrived home one late stormy night with the Dark Mark and his mother turned him back into the rain.  [[[For story, click here.]]]Now none of them see or speak to Andrew, and sometimes, particularly when it rains, Adrienna misses him.
Parents:Adrienna is close with her mother, Cassandra (Cassie for short), often spending days chatting with her and watching her mother’s darned Lifetime movie collection.  (An activity that Adrienna secretly enjoys.)  They share the wizarding world together, something she could not say about her father, Lionel, who detests anything to do with magic since Andrew left because of it.  There is tension between Lionel and the rest of the family because of his wariness of the wizarding world, and to ease it, they have an unwritten policy not to speak of anything pertaining to magic, wizards, or Hogwarts around him.  When they feel like it, though, Cassie and Adrienna often escape outdoors to speak of their magical adventures.
Relationship Skills:Though she is timid and takes her time when making friends, Adrienna is kind and will do just about anything if it will assist someone in need.  Sometimes, because of her shyness, she is awkward in social situations, but she makes up for it by being sincere (occasionally with an apology for her idiocy or foolish commentary).  She enjoys listening and is willing to give advice to anyone who asks it of her.  Adrienna also has some trust issues (especially with boys) because of her brother.

    Height: about 5’6” or 5’7”
    Weight: 130
    Race: Caucasian
    Eye Color: Blue
    Hair Color: Black
    Glasses or contact lenses? No.
    Skin Color: Pale
Shape of Face: ovalish, slightly square jaw
    Distinguishing Features: Freckles
How does she dress?Neatly and sort of in trend with the Muggle world since her father disallows wizarding clothes at their house.  Muggle clothes are the only things she owns, and she likes them anyway.
Health;Good.  Adrienna is in decent physical condition due to quidditch.
    Hobbies:drawing, playing quidditch
    Greastest Flaw: Lack of confidence.
Best Quality:She’s really quite pretty, but she doesn’t know it.  Equally as well, she is also a bit comical when she has an opportune moment.

Educational Background: Went to a Muggle public school until she was eleven and has attended Hogwarts ever since then.
Intelligence Level: Adrienna is a very intelligent person.  She is very resourceful and is always thinking ahead.
Short-term goals:Win the Quidditch Cup before she graduates, enjoy her time at school, and then… well graduate.  Haha 
Long-term goals: To play professional quidditch or, if not, then to be a wandmaker.  She hopes to be married eventually, too, but boys are usually the last thing on her mind.
How does she see herself? Adrienna sees herself very differently from others.  She believes the only thing she possesses is smarts and a knack for riding a broomstick.  Although she doesn’t think she is anything worth doting over, others seem to find her interesting.
How does she believe she is perceived by others?Adrienna thinks that she is seen as the shy, quiet kid that more confident people believe they can pick on.  But people rarely tease her about anything.  She sometimes is awkward in social situations and thinks that this makes her seem strange to others.
How self-confident is she? She is confident in her ability to accomplish things such as playing a good game of quidditch or drawing, but when it comes to conversation and sharing interests, she is less than certain about her skill.
Does the character seem ruled by emotion or logic or some combination thereof? Adrienna has always been a logical thinker.  Sometimes she lets that get in the way of emotions, but other times, her emotions and her logic are used together to make decisions and take action.
What would most embarrass this character? Saying something stupid in a conversation for which she would have to later apologize for.

Introvert or Extrovert? Introvert for sure.
How does she deal with anger? Adrienna does not get angry very often, as she has a high level of stupidity tolerance.  If something does bother her, she usually keeps it to herself and lets it slide off her back.  If the problem persists, however, because of her impatient nature, she will say something to the offender.  Usually it comes out sort of snappish, and she has to apologize.
With sadness? She just cries when she needs to and moves on.
With loss? Losing someone close to her is hard, especially after losing contact with her brother.  Typically, it isn’t the loss that perturbs her as much as the reminder of her brother.  Also, when she develops a close relationship with people, she tends to have separation anxiety should she find herself in their absence.
With conflict? She will say something if it is bad enough, but otherwise, she will simply let it be.
What would she change about her life? If she could, Adrienna would bring Andrew back home and everyone would get along at the Hayes’ house.
Is the character judgmental of others? Not usually, though there are instances where one must be judgmental to stay safe.  Such as with strangers.
Is she generous or stingy? Generous when in the mood.
Is she generally polite or rude? Adrienna is polite unless someone is on her nerves.

Wand: Birch with a unicorn hair core, 11”

Physical Description: Adrienna is quite pale, with numerous prominent freckles splattered across her cheeks.  Her hair is soft and black, sweeping the bottom of her shoulder blades when she walks and her eyes are unusually blue, considering the strong contrast with her hair color.  Body wise, she looks athletic with cut arm and leg muscles, but she still maintains a slightly wiry waist.  She is about 5’6” or 5’7”.

Adrienna is a neat dresser, as she never fails to have all clothing and hair tucked and fluffed in all the right places.  Her robes are never a crease far from perfection.

Personality Description: Adrienna is a quiet girl by heart, preferring to speak when spoken to and listen when asked to lend an ear.  Often, people come to her for advice on various things because she is willing to listen and provide well-considered feedback.  Although she is shy, she also likes to be accepted and have fun, and she usually becomes more open with people that are closer to her.  Along with this, Adrienna is very considerate and sympathetic of others, no matter how large or small the situation, and also quite witty and cynical.

Despite all the positive aspects of Adrienna’s personality, there are naturally some areas in which she could improve for even as it is her strength, Adrienna’s shyness is also her handicap.  Many people misinterpret Adrienna’s introverted manner as snootiness or arrogance, which frequently prevents her from making friends easily.  She also tends to be a bit impatient had countless times become frustrated when lengthy assignments or long term goals do not grant her with immediate results.

History: Hayes is not a surname most would recognize in the wizarding world, as they live very quiet, normal lives.  Their family is, however, known by those who are familiar with it to be an enemy of the Dark Lord and of the pureblood superiority belief system.  Despite this general assumption, there have been few Hayes who, in the far past, have betrayed this lovely way of thinking and devised their own ideas.  Many of these traitors have since joined arms with Death Eaters and died amongst their ranks.  Always there is one in every generation.

This is what had presumably and regretfully become of Adrienna’s brother, Andrew, who - after having a rather violent and heated row with their father - had set off his own.  He never wrote or visited.  In fast, neither Adrienna nor her parents have heard from him in years.  And although Adrienna wants to believe that Andrew was somewhere out there searching for them, she knows deep inside of herself that he was always meant to turn against them.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Too soft-spoken to be a Gryffindor, too kind to be a Slytherin, and too impatient to be a Hufflepuff, Adrienna is the perfect candidate for Ravenclaw House.  She has just the right amount of dry humor and intelligence in and out of school to be place in their ranks.

Writing Sample: This isn’t really about Adrienna, considering she is derived from a character out of an original story of mine.  But it is Harry Potter, and I did write it.  It’s an excerpt from a fanfic I wrote a while back.  Yes, it’s sad… I am a Dramione shipper…

"Draco sat amongst his new enemies at the Slytherin table, feeling unwanted but feared.  No one would tell him to move, but no one would insist that he stayed either.  He was securely in the middle, safe from their words but not from their disgruntled presence.  He rather liked thinking in peace, without the idiotic interruptions from his worthless friends.  Hermione had not paid him much mind earlier that day, and now she sat with her back to him.  Draco didn’t mind though.  He wanted her to be happy, and although he would much rather be with her, he respected her need for other, more relaxed friends.  However, upon glancing at them across the room, they seemed anything but relaxed.  In fact, they were abnormally tense, as if they were expecting something but not knowing from what direction it would come.  Draco observed as the Weasley girl – whom Hermione had mentioned was called Ginny – continued hurrying back and forth between the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor tables.  He was curious, but did not say anything as he recalled who surrounded him, the heartless monsters.

He looked to his left and right and saw that the seats were unoccupied.  None of the cold-blooded snakes wanted to sit with the traitor of their parents’ merciless leader.   None of them desired to be seen with him.  He shivered as he realized that he was already being shunned by his housemates when they didn’t even know the worst of the story.  Shunning now would be violence later if they ever knew the truth behind what he was doing.  No one would be on his side then, and no one would be left to take the blame.

Pansy was glaring at him with hate-ridden eyes a few seats down the table, a lock of her dark hair dangling in her face and hiding one of her intense eyes.  Unfortunately it did not lessen the uncomfortable effect the pupils cast on him.  It honestly didn’t bother him that she disliked him more than everyone else did, seeing as that was what he wished she had done long ago.  What did bother him was being alone again, in a place that he had thought would repel his loneliness, but instead, it had followed more closely.

Because of this, he was thankful for Hermione Granger.  He wondered if she knew she had saved him.  Probably not.  Little knew of the intensity of his pain, of his being at home, and no matter how many times he tried to explain his emotions to her, she would never understand either.  Nevertheless, she connected with him and helped him wash those memories away for a time, and perhaps that was the closest she would ever get to comprehending his anguish.  She could never tell what it felt like to receive the Dark Mark, to smell the burning of your own flesh, nor to watch it slowly become an evil scar.  Her life was vacant of a severe father, a father who did nothing but tear you down to build you up the way he wanted you to be, and she would never be able to relay exactly what it felt like to be responsible for someone’s death, to hear their painful silence and know it wouldn’t have been possible without her help.

And a tear dropped to the table as he realized that he could speak of those things with experience, that he knew what emotion each of them entitled.  He felt the laughing eyes along the length of the table, and he knew they were watching that solitary tear, as if that drip of saline meant he was defeated.  He heard Crabbe and Goyle laugh mockingly somewhere beside him, their eyes burning into the side of his head.  Then, against his wishes, another tear slipped between his lids, joining the first in a small puddle on the table, and embarrassed, he escaped through the Entrance Hall."

Sum up your character in one paragraph: An introvert by nature, Adrienna has known her shyness to be both a blessing and curse.  It is a fantastic trait to possess when listening but when conversing and attempting to make friends it seems to hinder more than assist her.  She is very aware of other people, always thinking of them first, which can also become a negative attribute.  But overall, she is a sweet, beautiful, caring girl with a lack of patience and confidence.
