Re: [April 28th] Coagulation [Kia, Frank] Reply #15 on February 04, 2009, 07:58:49 AM At least River stopped… It would have been awkward to run after him into the bathroom (or wherever he might have been heading to). It was easier to apologize right here, for Frank anyway. He did genuinely feel bad—Frank would’ve kept it to himself had he known that Kia didn’t know.“It’s fine.”Biting his lip, Frank could tell River wasn’t being as truthful as he should’ve been. He didn’t like embarrassing his friend in public; in private was a different matter—they could laugh it off or something, because no one else was privy to what they were saying or doing. Here, though… well, anyone who wanted to could see what was going on, even if they didn’t understand it. “Let’s just pretend like nothing happened.”That certainly sounded like River. Nodding slowly, a look of concern and regret still on his face even when River offered him a smile, Frank swallowed and tried to smile back. “Sure thing, River.” He could do that for his friend. Instead of forcing apology after apology upon him, Frank could let it go and forget he had embarrassed his friend so much. Making his way back with River, just behind him, Frank sat down quietly and pulled the menu to him, feeling bad for snapping at Kia.“So…what are you going to do with that letter?”Glancing towards Kia, Frank bit his lower lip and figured he would apologize after, or when they were alone. Maybe River would run to the bathroom or… or something. Whatever, he would do it. She was just trying to offer some advice, and he had been embarrassed himself for giving away something River had obviously wanted to keep a secret.“I dunno. It’s probably a joke. I don’t know why anyone would write one to me anyways…”The waiter came over with his tea, and after checking on everyone and accepting Frank’s order of a sandwich and crisps, they were once again alone. Picking up his tea, he blew on it a moment before taking a sip and setting it back down. “You’re a very pretty girl, Kia. I’m sure whoever wrote you one—” At this point, Frank was assuming that was what the conversation was stemming from, what with the snippets of conversation he had heard. “—Likes you and… was afraid to tell you in any other way.” Skip to next post Re: [April 28th] Coagulation [Kia, Frank] Reply #16 on February 10, 2009, 04:55:32 PM River was feeling so uncomfortable, he almost missed the change in Kia's mood. The girl became less interested and probably was confused by everything Frank and he had done. Kia was a very private person and she often hides her feelings. River could accept it, since he had the same habit. For him, it was easier to just pull back from people and became unattached rather than to confront them. That was why even though he looked stiff and cold, he felt a lot of things happening inside him.“You’re a very pretty girl-"River eyes narrowed in distaste at Frank's words. He decided to add, "-and a very nice one too." His tone was unreadable as usual. River let his male friend finish his words patiently. "I agree with Frank. The person must like you a lot." He folded his hands and sat back on his chair. "We don't really know him...or her. I think you should be careful as well." He was referencing to himself, but decided not to tell any details. Enough details for today, thank you very much. Skip to next post Re: [April 28th] Coagulation [Kia, Frank] Reply #17 on February 11, 2009, 03:34:45 PM “You’re a very pretty girl, Kia. I’m sure whoever wrote you one—”"-and a very nice one too." “—Likes you and… was afraid to tell you in any other way.”Kia was surprised when Frank called her pretty. After their little spat only a few minutes earlier, she had expected him to agree or even mock her a little. The two had never been exceedingly close, in fact, Kia knew very little about him aside from the fact that he was River's friend. This could, of course, be blamed on her lack of interest in other people's personal lives and her choice to use her first impression as the deal breaker. She had misjudged him apparently, his words seemed to be spoken in earnest and she couldn't help the blush that touched on her cheeks when they both complimented her. Compliments always threw her off. Trying to hide her embarrassment, she took a bite of her sandwich and chewed slowly."I agree with Frank. The person must like you a lot. We don't really know him...or her. I think you should be careful as well.""Thats the thing..." She said quietly, thinking back to the letter "... He seems to know me. I mean.. he mentioned things that... well... someone would only know if they were close to me. Which either leads me to believe that I do know him and can't remember him... or that he is a stalker..." She trailed off a bit at that last part, unsure if she wanted to broach the subject with River or not. He may have been quiet and standoffish, but she had a feeling that he would go after the guy if he could find him. Kia knew she would if someone was stalking her friends or family. She surprised herself by changing the subject and focusing on something she really never cared about, that is, someone elses romance life "What about you Frank... You like anyone?" She was sure the question would throw River off, since she never asked this sort of thing, but she was willing to listen if it meant Frank took the focus off of her for a few minutes. It was his way of agreeing without being too sidetracked that he didn’t finish what he was trying to say. Kia was a nice girl, from what Frank could tell.“I agree with Frank. The person must like you a lot… We don’t really know him… or her. I think you should be careful as well.”Nodding again, Frank found that it was easier agreeing with River than adding more thoughts. It was about reassuring Kia and also trying to help her without bogging her down with too much to think about. At least that is what Frank was thinking. He was looking out for Kia’s intuitive and deep thinking mind so it didn’t overwork itself with the issue at hand. From the sounds of it, she all ready had.“That’s the thing… He seems to know me. I mean.. he mentioned things that… well… someone would only know if they were close to me. Which either leads me to believe that I do know him and can’t remember him… or that he is a stalker…”And there went the thinking more into it than possibly need be. However… it was a worrying thought indeed. Frowning slightly, rubbing his hand over his mouth, Frank considered it. River would be more likely to be able to do something about the entire thing, being the Auror after all. He could look through the proper channels, that sort of thing, if it turned out to be a stalker. Frank was an optimistic type of guy, however, and he stuck to the belief that a love letter was sent out of genuine affection, and if it wasn’t signed, it was that the person was too embarrassed or scared to tell how they really felt.“What about you Frank… You like anyone?”Blinking as he focused on the table, his frown turned into slight confusion while his brain switched gears to her question. Glancing up at her, letting his hand fall from his mouth, he bit his lower lip and shrugged a little. He was supposed to be going out for a date Jason had set up soon, but didn’t know much more on that. “Oh, ah…” Did he like anyone? Glancing to River, he raised an eyebrow and shook his head.“Not… presently. I mean, not seeing anyone. Things-” Frowning a moment, he leaned back in his chair. “Work is keeping me busy.” There, off that subject. He answered it well enough, he thought, without leaving himself open for more questions. He hoped… Skip to next post
