Wand:10 inches, birch, unicorn tail. Scirey’s wand is in near perfect condition except for a scratch in the handle. She is very protective of her wand, nothing in her possession receives better care other than her art supplies. Scirey’s wand is very bendy reflecting her openness to new ideals. The wand brings out Scirey’s creative side as it enhances her ability to perform charms and defensive spells.

Physical Description:Scirey Riven is most known physically for being, well short. Her small, petite frame is four feet eleven but when asked Scirey stretches the truth to five one when she can get away with it. She is thin, some would say too much, but she can’t seem to gain any weight. This to some would be a blessing but to one so small already it is a curse. If she misses a meal she could lose a pound or two which would send her even more below her target weight, only four pounds away at the moment.

Scirey’s appearance is unkempt with her fly away wavy light brown hair and paint smudged face. Her look screams waif, especially since a lot of her clothes are from her Hogwarts years and are a little worn and slightly overstretched. When she needs to she can be quite put together and even more than just her sweet child like prettiness. Her oversized blue eyes are hidden behind black rimmed glasses that she is constantly pushing forward.

Those who knew her mother always exclaim how similar they look. If one compared a picture of Scirey looking her best(or her mother’s worst) the similarities was uncanny. They both have (or in Scirey’s mother’s case had) the same deep blue eyes dominating a slightly round face. Scirey is shorter than her mother but she carries herself with the same natural grace. She tries her hardest to make herself look unlike her mother but at times it is obvious that she is her mother’s daughter.

Personality Description:
Ever since the abduction after her seventh year of Hogwarts, Scirey has been paranoid. She fears that whoever stalked her will find her again. She has a hard time of trusting anyone anymore.. She automatically is suspicious of nearly everyone fighting against her natural urge to trust. She is always wondering if someone is stalking her, or planning to hurt her or someone she cares about. Her nerves are pulled taunt and she is prone of jumping at the slightest sound. She’s more cautious now than she had been in the past. Despite all that Scirey is still as kind as she always been. She’s as patient as a rock but not as silent. While Scirey is still shy when meeting people, especially those who are older than her, she can hold a conversation without stuttering or feeling inferior for the most part. She still believes the best of people and is still gullible, not as much but the quality is still there.

Scirey has more concern for other’s well being than her own. She is first to praise others and put her own self down at the same time.  She does not give praise to those who have not earned it, she does not believe in false flattery. When she comments on someone’s work it is the truth, as she sees it. She’ll try not to be harsh but you will hear only straight facts from her mouth. She is the friend that would say something if you are making an embarrassment of yourself. She would rather have the straight truth even if it would bring her pain rather than a nice lie.

Scirey is a peace maker. She hates fighting with anyone and is willing to give up nearly anything to prevent a fight. She’ll use words and other diplomatic measures to accomplish tasks rather than force. She listens well and often sees different views of situations. She won’t ask anyone to do something that she herself wouldn’t do.  She likes to uncover all aspects of an argument or position. Scirey enjoys researching topics and solving word games and pondering issues of world peace or what is the best way of solving tensions with goblins.

Although she helps many people she is fiercely independent. She is willing to give herself to another person but does not need nor want their help. At times she seems to push people away from her, almost welcoming isolation. She is perfectly comfortable being by herself for days, even weeks at a time. She does not need human contact; in fact she gets restless and cranky if she is around people too much.

History: It was March 17, 1988 and the wind was howling fiercely as snow swirled outside. Inside the Riven household in the London countryside two little boys waited on the main stair case with nothing to do. Seven year old Lysander wanted another little brother while five year old Chase didn’t really want another sibling. They were told not to make any noise as their mother labored above them. Besides the children didn’t have any inclination to play because they were worried. Through the walls they could hear their mother cry out in pain as her body contracted. No one seemed to notice the boys until the baby had been born.

Scirenia Rose Riven entered the world after a five hour labor. She gave a tiny squeak before snuggling up to her mother who she had been named after. Finally after four years of trying a female had been added to the Riven family to help tip the odds a little more in feminine favor. The Riven  household was mostly masculine with Jace Riven the father, two sons, a male owl, dog, and turtle. Scirenia was glad to finally have another woman in the house and promptly shortened the name to Scirey.

From the beginning Scirey was a quiet, happy baby. While all babies demand attention to fulfill their needs even her hungry cry was hushed. Scirey had always been small and delicate and was treated differently than her older brothers. She was hovered over constantly, never left alone for a second. The older boys overcame their initial resentment of a new baby and helped be over protective of the delicate Scirey. Even as she grew older everyone was always doing something for Scirey. This fostered a great independence in the small toddler. She always wanted to do something for herself and often got in trouble for making a mess doing it. While she tried to be independent she needed help more so than other children her age. She had always been small and had trouble maintaining the correct weight since she had been born premature.

She grew up very shy, always near her mother’s skirts. She hated loud noises, was afraid of the dark, monsters under her bed, snakes, horses and pretty much anything several feet taller than her. There was little that Scirey wasn’t afraid of to some degree. Sometimes she would overreact and a panic attack would occur. These moments were rare and infrequent but they did occur. Nothing too serious just a bit light headedness and difficulty breathing until she calmed down. Her brothers always teased her on her many skittish moments but whenever someone else laughed at her being afraid they would defend her, often with their fists. Scirey would eventually learn to overcome her fears with the help of her brothers. It was Chase that would pay the most attention to Scirey. He helped her with her problems and soothed her fears. To this day they are rather close even though he is five years older than she is.

When Scirey was four her life changed rather dramatically as her youngest brother Carter was born. Never to be out of her mother’s site, Scirey liked caring for the new baby and would help out as much as possible. She was a pro at changing diapers and burping the baby by the time Madeline Iris was born three years later.

Scirey was never an outdoors person. Sports did not entertain her although she did run around usually trailing after Chase. Scirey liked looking at flowers and would often be found drawing the nature all around her. While she liked grass flowers and most animals Scirey was an indoor kind of girl. She spent most of her time reading or helping out her mother. Even as a small child Scirey was very helpful. She hated being bored and was always willing to do something for somebody else.
For Scirey’s fifth birthday her mother bought her a how to draw book. Scirey loved it and soon the cupboards were decorated with flowers, people, and animals.

Scirey remembers bits and pieces of the dark times in her child hood. She knew that there was an evil man who was killing people who didn’t have full magic blood, muggleborns. She also knew that her parents didn’t agree with the mans views and were fighting him and his followers. Her mother would often spy for the Order of the Phoenix in the market places or teach music to known dark arts supporters to glean information.

Lysander was a seventh year when Hogwarts was attacked by Voldermort. He hadn’t joined the escape of his fellow students but join in on the fight. The Gryffindor had gotten injured in the struggle but it is the emotional scars that really show. After forcing fifteen year old Chase into the passageway to escape Lysander plunged into the battle to end up fighting alongside his parents. He or his father rarely talk about how Scirenia died only to say she died protecting her family.

Scirey was ten when her mother was murdered. She had just settled down to paint when her mother rushed into her room to tell her there was a battle at Hogwarts. Scirey was terrified as her parents kissed her and her younger siblings good bye before disappearing. She feared for their safety and that of her brothers. With more guts than Scirey thought possibly that she had she played games with her siblings. If she stuttered nobody said a word. It was later the next day when her father and to her surprise her older brothers came home. Scirey was numb when she found out her mother had died. She didn’t believe her father and she lashed out against him. At first she wished that it had been he who had died. If someone had to go it should have been him.

Scirey became the mother figure of the household until she went off to start school in September. Even then Scirey would write to Carter and Madeline checking in on them. Scirey kept a constant watch on her siblings dispensing advice and comments as if she were their mother. As Scirey grew older it became clearer that she was her mother’s daughter especially in the features department. Not only did they share the same name but also the same hair and eye color, and pale skin. It was painful to look in the mirror and see her mother’s reflection. Her father noticed and was moody around Scirey because of the constant reminder she was of what he had lost.

Scirey’s first year at school was difficult on her. She didn’t want to leave her younger siblings and begged her father to allow her to stay at home. Her request was denied. =purple]Scirey didn’t make many friends her first year because she was afraid to talk to anyone for fear of her stuttering. She didn’t want to be laughed at because of the way she talked. When Scirey did talk it was short and sweet and often very softly. Scirey’s ambition was to be invisible and for the most part she was. When her brother’s were still at Hogwarts Scirey was protected by their reputation. No one teased her after Chase overheard a boy imitating Scirey’s stutter. Chase threatened the boy and then went on to embarrass him.

Scirey was teased a little after Chase graduated but not much, normally she was ignored. She placed all of her energy into her school work and art. Eventually she joined the dueling club to gain a little back bone. One of Scirey’s first and only friends was slytherin Ciarra Belisario. It was an unlikely friendship but they got along famously. Ciarra was someone who didn’t care that Scirey stuttered sometimes and was sympatric to her losing her mother and being so smothered by her family.

Scirey’s life was uneventful until the Christmas of her fourth year. Scirey was in Diagon Alley picking up Christmas presents for her younger siblings that would be from her father/ Santa Clause. It was one of the many chores she had acquired since her mother died. If she didn’t do it there would be nothing for the younger children and Madeline still believed in Santa Claus and Carter half believed.

Scirey had just finished shopping and was laden down with gifts when she accidently walked into a man her parents’ age. Packages flew in every direction and Scirey stammered and apology as her face burned with shame. She gushed out how sorry she was as she scrambled after her wrapped parcels laying in the snow. The man helped her pick up her packages and offered to help her carry them to the Leaky Cauldron to prevent another spill or walk in with a human being. Scirey smiled gratefully and allowed him to assist her. He was kind and made Scirey laugh in the few minutes they talked. He asked her name and she gave it without thinking. Trust came innately to Scirey and she saw no reason why he would do her any harm. Scirey was pleased when he expressed that he liked her name. She told him it had been her mothers and was short for Scirenia. She wished him a happy Christmas took her packages and went home.
Scirey became more social in her fifth year when she became prefect. While still quite she was able to mediate the problems that occurred. She was known for being a fair judge and many younger students came to her for advice, or to mediate a dispute. Scirey was honored by the position but also stressed by it. Her ability to step outside of herself was tested. Her speaking improved and she became more active in class. Scirey wasn’t as shy an introverted as before. The process of her coming out of her shell was gradual but it happened. In her free time Scirey drew the hogwart’s grounds or her fellow students upon request.

Scirey dreaded the rehashing of emotions that occurred when ever there was a remembrance for the battle of Hogwarts. She always wanted to skip the service. She did not need to show her pain to everyone she could mourn her mother in private. Still she attended for the sake of her family.

Seven years of Hogwarts passed quickly and at the same time slowly for Scirey. By the time she was ready to graduate she knew that while she loved learning she wanted to be an artist. She held a passion for art that inked words could not bring forth.

Every Chistmas since the strange encounter with the man in the alley Scirey received nice gifts from an unknown person. At first Scirey thought it was someone from school but when random pictures of her with her family and friends or alone began arriving it became a bigger issue. Scirey was being stalked over the course of three years. At first the pictures and gifts only came at Christmas but during her seventh year letters came and a gift on her birthday. Scirey began to look over her shoulder and was afraid of being alone in case her stalker tried to talk with her.

Graduation day was one of happiness and celebration for Scirey Riven. She had a blast and was finally escaping the walls that had helped her grow up and constantly reminded her of her mother. She was glad to be leaving but was also filled with a bit of sadness as well for now she was an adult. Scirey had plans to move into an apartment with Ciarra and start an internship with Obscurus books in the art department. After she walked there was a party held for graduates and their families in Hogsmeade. Scirey wanted a breather and had walked the edge of town by herself, saying good bye to all her memories. She was near the shrieking shack when she heard her name called out, only it was her full name. Scirey turned to the man who had hailed her. He was older very tall and skinny. He looked vaguely familiar but she couldn’t place him. Scirey called back a hello thinking that he must have been a friend of her parents. The place of filled with them. A conversation was struck up and before Scirey knew it she found that she was put at ease as the pair talked about Hogwarts and how they were ready for a new world. The conversation was as if the man was also a recent graduate. The conversation turned strange and rather ominous when Scirey mentioned her boy friend. The man turned suddenly bitter and resentful shouting that she should love him. Scirey was confused and afraid. She turned to run when she was suddenly hit from behind with a stunning spell.

=purple]The next day Scirey’s jacket was found by a friend of the family who had joined the search party looking for Scirey. Luckily fresh snow had not fallen and covered the impression of what appeared to be Scirey’s body when she fell after being stunned. Three days later Scirey was found sleeping in an abandoned warehouse in Knockturn Alley with no memory of how she had gotten there. She was groggy and confused but unhurt.

All Scirey remembers from her attack and abduction is a room and the sound of water. The mediwizards are not sure if her lack of memory is from a memory charm or amnesia, it is just blank. Scirey is angry at herself for not remembering because the man who had kept and most likely stalked her is still loose. She is afraid that he will find her again.

She still attends therapy but she is much stronger than she had been. Now two years later scirey is ready to put the past behind her and go on with her life. She has finally convinced her family that she can move out on her own. She has been living with Ciarra Belesario for several months now. Scirey interned at Obscurus Books and Publishing  and is now working in the art department. Her life is relatively normal even though she is expecting for more pictures to arrive any day. None has come for two years, she secretly hopes that the man who was stalking her died or was caught.

Scirey brushed a piece of hair out of her face as she put the last book in a box. She glanced around the small room she had shared with her little sister for the last fourteen years with a smile on her face. She was finally leaving home! It was a scary but at the same time satisfying thought. After all she was a woman of twenty and not a little girl. It was time she flew away from the nest and the watch dogs that lived in it. Scirey’s long rope of patience was nearly burned away by her family’s constant worry. It had been nice at first after she had come home but after a year she didn’t need to be watched twenty four hours she wasn’t going to break. Not that her family believed that.

Lysander thumbed back into the room making as much noise as possible as not to scare Scirey who was still a little jittery. She squeaked the other day when he had accidently sneaked up on her. As her eldest brother he thought it silly of his sister to move out especially when the pond scum rubber worm would not be far away in St. Mungos. He still thought the monster should have been in askaban. Instead he was being treated in a comfy warm place. Lysander shook his head as he watched Scirey tape the box up. She looked like a little girl who could be whisked away by a strong gust of wind.

“Scirey, maybe you should move in with me and Katelyn…” He said gently waiting for her reaction. He knew her moving out was a touchy subject.

Scirey paused the tape suspended in one hand. Her eyes flashed dangerously as she pursued her lips. It would do her no good to yell at her brother. “Look I know your worried Ly but I can’t be protected forever. There is no way I can live in a glass ball. The world is a scary place but I need to go back in it.  I won’t be alone I’ll have Ciarra as a roommate.” She said picking up the heavy box and walking out of the room.

Lysander watched stunned as Scirey carried the far too heavy box out. He had never heard her speak so much in a sentence before. While her voice was in a normal level the tone held a sharp authoritative pitch to it.

Lysander ran after his sister calling out to take the box from her. Scirey shifted the weight of her burden, “No.” She said before continuing down the stairs. She was far to independent for her own good sometimes.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Scirey is a shy simple person who keeps to herself. She is fiercely independent and a dreamer. She is a slave to her job and will do almost anything someone asks without a word. Art is her passion and she takes it very seriously. It is the one subject she can talk about freely and never be bored by it. Scirey doesn’t  give herself much credit in anything and is always trying to help someone else.
