In retrospect, going into the already crowded closet with his enemy and his friend was probably a bad idea to begin with. Yes, Kyle was full of bad ideas recently, and they've been getting him in worse and worse situations. He made a mental note that whenever he found Nicola with another guy... just walk away. It seemed like that would be the best method.

Devlin told Kyle to get out, and of course with a mixture of the heat of the situation and the blatant hatred he had for Devlin, Kyle did not listen. He was too concerned about Nicola and whether she was hurt, whose blood was whose, and why the heck they were in the closet to begin with. So of course, by the time Devlin was screaming it was too late. Kyle couldn't tell if it was claustrophobia or just Kyle's general presence that annoyed him, but the brutal punch to the face was a pretty big indicator that he really had made a bad decision. It came like a hammer, and Kyle was frankly surprised that Devlin was able to put out that much force. Perhaps he had underestimated him a little. An ominous crack resounded in the small space as Kyle felt a searing pain come from his nose, as well as warm trickling liquid come from it and down past his chin.

Being caught off guard, Kyle tumbled out the door and into the fresh air, falling into the ground but quickly scrambling up with his wand drawn. Devlin was a fool, even if he was panicked he should know it is a bad decision to provoke Kyle in any manner. He wasn't about to fire spells left and right but he wanted to make sure Devlin knew that Kyle was pissed. "What in bloody hell!?" Kyle shouted, blood running down his face. "Nicola -- Devlin -- what?" He stumbled in disbelief. He nodded at Nicola as she mouthed 'I'm sorry', however he was confused as hell to what was going on. Realizing his nose was in fact broken, Kyle reached up and re-aligned it with a couple painful cracks until he felt like it was the same shape as before. He was going to make good friends with Madam Elliot...

The laughter and noise from the crowd was completely unhelpful to the situation. "Oi! LEAVE! BEFORE I HEX THE LOT OF YOU!" Kyle roared, waving his wand at the group. Over half of them left, mostly because it was an ongoing rumor that Kyle was an unstable loon and that he was an extremely accomplished duelist. The ones who did not leave took steps back, looking a little nervous but telling themselves this was too good to miss. Kyle was happy enough the lessening of the gossipers, so he turned around to see that Devlin had grabbed his bag and shirt, along with Nicola. "Oh, where you going now? I hear there's a nice closet on the second floor if ye'd like me to show you." He said sardonically, looking at Devlin angrily.

    “Is your hand okay?”

All Devlin wanted to do was to get the hell out of there. He was in nothing but his boxers and trainers, with a painful burn on one hand and a wand being pointed him from a very angry, and unstable, Gryffindor. Why Nicola chose to slow him down by inquiring about the burn instead of taking off, like he wanted, was beyond him. At least the crowd moved back some, dispersing after Kyle threatened to hex all of them. Not that it mattered, the damage was done. Before tomorrow, the school would be buzzing with rumors.

"It's fine. Why didn't you run...?" He hissed in her ear, unconcerned with his burning hand. Kyle was going to notice they hadn't run off any moment now and he needed to make sure that his rear was covered. Figuratively of course, since his pants were in ruins now. There was no doubt in his mind that if Kyle discovered the truth behind their little rendezvous, he would likely go blabbing to the headmaster. Devlin's relationship with Greyfriar was tedious at best, and Devlin didn't want to give him any reason to break it off. As Kyle turned back to them, Devlin added quickly "Play along."

"Oh, where you going now? I hear there's a nice closet on the second floor if ye'd like me to show you."

Making sure Nicola was close to him, since he knew Kyle wasn't stupid enough to attack him when the girl he liked was within harm, Devlin's normal smile morphed into a sneer. His lip curled as he snarled "Bugger off Gibson... What Nicola and I do on our time is up to us... Isn't that right babe?" He let go of Nicola's hand, wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her against him, kissing her on her lips briefly but loudly. He knew that he was probably making Kyle madder, but there was two things he was sure of at that moment: 1. He would rather Kyle beat him up for making out with Nicola then know the truth and 2. if he got his blood pounding hard enough, maybe Kyle would pass out from the loss. Considering his nose was broken and bleeding rather profusely, Devlin could only assume it would work.

Nicola was ready to just leave and she knew she should have just run with Devlin without worrying about anything else, the poor guy was just in his boxers. Nicola herself felt relatively naked as this was definitely the most exposed she had been in public, and it was just a small tank top it almost felt like she was nothing at all but she was. “I don’t know why?” She couldn’t come up with a logical question as to why she didn’t run with him, maybe because she was leaving Kyle with a broken nose.

As the words play along resonated in her mind she groaned, not again. First Gavin and now Devlin. Why was Nicola continually getting herself into situations with guys that felt it wise to pretend to like Nicola, or be her boyfriend? Nicola just felt him pull her in closer and his hand leave hers and wrap around her waist. All Nic could do was nod her heard in agreement to the fact she could do what she wanted with Devlin. Nicola was just silent knowing she had to play along with this otherwise the truth of why they were in the closet would come out and they both would be in a lot of trouble.

Lips made contact with her own in a kiss that was brief but probably enough to make Kyle annoyed or frustrated, would he react the same way he had with Gavin? Nicola was concerned at the state of his broken nose. “Come on let’s go,” she said looking at Devlin. Nicola felt her body shivering a bit unsure if it was because of the awkwardness of the situation or due to the fact she was cold. “We should go before a member of the staff finds us.” It would be hard to explain why Devlin was lacking articles of clothing and Nicola was in her undershirt. Why had she stopped to inquire about his stupid hand?

"Bugger off Gibson... What Nicola and I do on our time is up to us... Isn't that right babe?"

Kyle groaned at this statement, rolling his eyes as well. Things just got better and better. If Nicola was going with Devlin now, Kyle was just going to lose it. A second later, as Devlin drew Nicola in for a brief kiss, leaving Kyle there shocked beyond belief. Was it only three or four days ago that Nicola was kissing Gavin? But this seemed like it was planned, and only god knew what else they had done while in the confines of that dreaded closet. If Kyle's life degraded at the rate it had been in the last two weeks, he wouldn't live for a month.

Kyle blinked a couple times, his face showing horror at the scene before him. He felt his blood pump faster and faster, his nose bleeding even more profusely as his face turned even redder. "Oh, how I hate my life." He muttered just audibly enough for the embracing couple to hear. The two then had quick banter about how they should go, leaving Kyle not sure what to do. He couldn't attack Devlin without hurting Nicola. Not even his aim was that precise. Especially with that he was getting very lightheaded.

"God... damnit, really Nicola? Ugh, both of you just go before I blow something up. I'll be seeing you later, Devlin." Kyle hissed at the boy, looking around to see that some of the crowd he had scared away were approaching back but at this point he didn't care. He was getting very lightheaded, probably from the excessive blood loss and disorientation. He put his hand on his head and knew it would just be a bad decision to instigate a fight. "Go!" He shouted at the two, summoning a towel to mop the bloody mess up that was his face. He wouldn't dare try healing himself again, as it just never ended well.

"God... damnit, really Nicola? Ugh, both of you just go before I blow something up. I'll be seeing you later, Devlin."

"Threats.... threats...." Devlin tsked under his breath, rolling his eyes. He then puncuated his sentence with a rather vulgar name and flashed an obscene gesture towards Kyle's back. The man was so melodramatic. Ooooh I am gonna go blow stuff uuuup.... I'm sooooo tough and mysteeeeerious... pfft...douchebag... he mocked inwardly, glaring at Kyle's retreating figure. Man that guy pissed him off. He was just being whiny because he was too much of a wimp to ask Nicola out, even though the entire freaking school KNEW he liked her. Like a typical brawn-brained jock, he spent his time lifting weights and blowing crap up because he had to compensate for his lack of balls.

“Come on let’s go, We should go before a member of the staff finds us.”

"Yeah." He muttered, his good mood ruined. Pulling his bag over his shoulder, Devlin started towards the general direction of the Ravenclaw tower. He figured he would get out of her sight and then transform into his animagus form, since nudity wasn't too much of an issue at that point. Pausing to look over at her, he added with a smirk "You know... you still have to pay me for that stuff...."

Nicola felt like she had really hurt Kyle by being found in a closet with Devlin, but there was nothing she could really say or do about it now. The explanation would have to wait till a more appropriate a time and when Nicola felt less naked. It made her feel awful that he thought something happened in the closet, and that she had hurt him. It only made her solidify her opinion that he wasn’t telling the truth when he said the he didn’t have a crush on her anymore.

Nicola moved a little robotically along with Devlin not really paying attention to the words he said, or the names he might have called Kyle. Nicola felt lost in thought about the stupid guilt feeling she felt. It wasn’t her fault he had jumped to conclusions. She started moving in the direction that led off to the Slytherin Common Rooms. “I know, and don’t worry I doubt I will forget,” she forced a weak smile.

Wrapping her arms around her self as her bag dug into her shoulder. “I will get it for you in the morning,” she just wanted to get out of here and she figured so did Devlin.
