[Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) on October 18, 2009, 08:27:35 PM Saturdays were dreadfully boring sometimes, and being bored was one of the things that Callum abhorred the most. It was fourth in line, following mudbloods, muggles, and feminists- in that order. After breakfast, he had spent most of the morning working on various school assignments and studying for his OWLs. By the time lunch rolled around, he was tired of keeping his nose in his books and was growing restless. Whenever this Slytherin was restless, it generally ended poorly. So after his second meal of the day he stalked the castle for a while, looking for a fight. And of course the hallways had to be teeming with girls- the very people he could not pick a proper fight with.Pent up aggression was not something Callum had learned to deal with. So he stormed out of the castle, down to the edge of the lake. Stooping down, he scooped up a few rather large stones from the shallow waters just off the bank, and began to make a rather large pile of them to his left. Satisfied that he finally had enough, he picked up on the larger rocks. Callum tossed it up and down a few times before getting a firm grasp on it, and then hurling it into the lake with as much force as he could muster. When the rock landed, it gave a very satisfying plop, accompanied by a terrific splash. Callum grinned, and made a noise of satisfaction. "I hope it hits you right in the middle of your gelatinous head," he called out to the water. Then he grabbed another rock from the pile, throwing it into the water as well. It landed with an equally loud plop and splash just a few feet to the right of the one he had thrown before. It was obvious to anyone who watched that although Callum was entirely untrained in any athletic activity that required throwing, but it was equally obvious that he had a strong arm. Most of his upper body strength came from beating up other students. Although he took boxing classes during breaks, it took his practice at school to keep him in shape and to practice his technique. He would very much prefer keeping his technique in check to throwing stones into a lake, hoping that by some slim chance he might pelt some unsuspecting sea creature in the head. Maddie muttered to herself as she re-read over the same article blaring across the front page of the Daily Prophet for the upteenth time. It was one of many regarding the new Headmistress and her reign of Terror, which they unfortunately under emphasized. It seemed that there were still too many pureblood patrons of the news, censoring the truth down to its' roots. Naturally, this did not include the articles of her hero, miss Thursby, but hers were a tiny pinprick of black and white truth in a sea of grey toned, heavily censored BS that was pretty much everything else. She sighed."I hope it hits you right in the middle of your gelatinous head,"This delightful little quip made its way pass her defenses, which kept most revolting and nonsensical rubbish out, and she glanced over at the lake. Very much not to her surprise, she saw a familiar face. Knight was one of those boys whose surname did little to help his reputation. He would forever be cast a villain instead of a knight, that much was for sure, and she had hated him since the day they met 5 years ago. But then she hated all self-important, chauvinist, Purist bullies, almost more then she hated animal cruelty. It was unfortunate for him that he combined the two.Laying her bag and paper down on the ground, Maddie crouched down and steadied herself. Her father was a fan of Muggle sports, especially muggle American Football. He had taught her the right way to throw, pass, kick and most importantly, tackle when she was old enough to wrap her arms around a football. It was with this knowledge that Maddie put all her strength into her legs and pushed off, barreling towards Knight's back with the intent to send him face first into the lake.((Its up to you my dear to decide if he gets hit or not)) Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #2 on October 18, 2009, 09:37:07 PM The third rock landed closer to shore, because Callum was suddenly distracted by a strange sound. It sounded like someone was behind him. He barely had time to get entirely turned about to see what was making the sound when a body collided with his, which caused him to fall backward into the shallow waters of the lack. The water was surprisingly cold, and it took no time at all to soak through his clothes and dampen his skin. It took a few seconds for him to sit back up after falling onto his back into the water. The shock had gotten to him was all. After he was sitting, he spluttered and lifted a hand to wipe water his angry face. Who would dare to do such a thing to him? He coughed loudly, spitting out some water he had swallowed upon his fall and narrowed his now-open eyes on the face of on Madeline Pratt.Where his last name might be somewhat of a misnomer, hers was not. She was definitely a prat, and his dislike for her (which was already monumental) seemed to grow with every unpleasant encounter. This encounter definitely did nothing to help her case. He dragged himself to his feet and stepped out of the water, and then pulled himself to his full height in order to look as intimidating as possible. It was a difficult task considering the way his wet clothes clung to him, giving him the look of a drowned rat. Could this Hufflepuff wench really be this stupid? His brain wondered if it was wrong to hit a woman who had hit him first. It was so very tempting, but he dismissed the thought. It was wrong to hurt girls, however much they deserved it. There were always better ways to take care of things. He could make her life horrible without having to lay a finger on her.The Slytherin patted his wet pockets before extracting his wand. He pointed at his clothes, angrily shouting out the charm which would help him to dry them. He chose not to speak to her until the task was complete and his wand was tucked away safely again. If he didn't tuck it away, he might be too tempted to use it against her. "You are a very stupid badger," he finally stated in a very calm tone. It was a false serenity, much like the calm before a storm. He made great pains to readjust his clothing until it looked as impeccable as possible before focusing his angry gaze on her again.Callum cracked his knuckles out of habit, although it wouldn't be a bad thing if she thought he would hit her. It took a lot of self control on his part not to. "I could have you expelled for attacking me unprovoked," he threatened. It wasn't true, and she would likely know that, but it was his only outlet at this point. "I'm going to assume it was an attack out of jealousy. I apologize if you felt neglected. I know it must be horribly difficult to suffer through life friendless and alone, so lowly people do not even have the interest in torturing you. I am very sorry, but tormenting women- however close to inhuman they may be-is not something I participate in. Not because I don't want to, but I am too good to dirty my hands with such a past time."He gave her a very self satisfied smile. Callum knew that often times when people wanted a rise out of him, that a cool demeanor and mostly civil words could do more damage. He wanted to yell and scream at her, and tell her she wasn't worth the dirt under nails. However, her gender caused him to refrain from losing his temper to that point. This was two Hufflepuffs in one day who had dared to cross him. That house was going to pay before the night was out. He was going to hurt somebody, and hurt them badly. Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #3 on October 20, 2009, 02:18:57 AM OutfitIf you had asked Maddie if she thought pushing someone in the Lake was funny, she would tell you it most certainly was not, it was barbaric, dangerous and just plain immature. Something a first year would do. But if you revealed that said person was a barbaric and immature bully like Callum Knight, she would wholeheartedly approve and then ask where he had been pushed in so she could point and laugh. Which was exactly what she was doing now. "Haha... you... you look like a drowned cat..." She chortled as he mumbled dangerously under his breath and begin to dry himself off. She wished she had her trusty camera to record this momentous event, but alas it was in her common room. Safer this way anyways. She sensed that while he might not hit her, he wouldn't have any qualms about breaking one of her prized possessions. As he burst into a tirade about how he could get her expelled, and how she was friendless and jealous and yadayadayada, Maddie rolled her eyes emphatically. Empty threats from an insecure and immature little boy, that's all they were. She knew that he wouldn't hit her, some stupid 'man code' that all male chauvinist pigs claimed was 'chivalry'. It was just sexism. She had no doubt that she could take his so-called beating and hand it back to him in more then one way. Unfortunately, he was too much of a wimp to actually try it. "It's hard to dirty the hands of a dirtball..." She said, though she didn't smirk or even crack a smile. It was, in her opinion, a simple fact. "... But face it, the only reason you can't, and won't, hit me is because you are scared of being beaten by a girl and losing face. Face I might add that is just a cover for your massive insecurities and a very very small, nay, infinitesimal wand... if you will... " Smiling coldly, she picked up her bag and tugged it over her shoulder, preparing to leave since her good deed of the day was done. "Don't worry though, I won't tell anyone and no girl is ever gonna see it, so your secret is safe with me..." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #4 on October 20, 2009, 04:12:14 PM She was laughing at him. That was certainly quite inexcusable. Nobody laughed at Callum J. Knight and then lived to tell the tale, or at least live to tell the tale without some sort of retaliation on his part. Really, when did women get to be so barbaric? He could not remember them being so irksome in his younger years. Then again, prior to developing a keen interest in them, Callum never paid them much attention. They simply existed, and they were either worthy or unworthy. There was no gray area in between where friends were not quite friends, or enemies were not quite enemies. It seemed, too, that up until his hormones took over that he never argued with them as much as he did now. Then she had to go and insult him. Callum clucked his tongue quietly, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Attempting to goad me into action will not work," he told her. "I pity you, for believing that a man won't hit a woman simply because he is afraid. There are some of us left out there who do have a sense of honor. Doubtless you have not encountered them. Badgers are known to be cowards, and it is the coward's way to beat up the weaker sex... There are men of a different caliber, although a person like you will never get to know them. We have very particular tastes, and unfortunately for you, you are not up to code."He took a long look at the way she was dressed, sneering at the ensemble. Shorts were even worse than pants. Really, did people not have any taste? His parents paid good money to get his clothes, and they would have a fit if he wore anything that wasn't presentable. He wasn't even allowed to own denim, and t-shirts (unless used as undershirts) were a definite no-no. What was wrong with everyone else's parents? Even some of his biggest enemies (like Ferguson) had decent taste in fashion. She turned to walk away, and he shook his head. "Just going to walk away, are you? Well that certainly speaks loads for you character. Push a boy into the water for no good reason, proceed to insult him, and then wander off like nothing ever happened. At least I have the decency to give a valid reason for my attacks." Callum inspected his nails lazily at this point, then pressed the back of his hand to his mouth to stifle a yawn. "Very well then, carry on with your business, but don't think I will forget. I might not be able to hurt you, but it doesn't mean I can't seek my revenge in other, less pleasant ways." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #5 on October 20, 2009, 07:12:43 PM She paused and turned to him, caught off guard by the torrent of insults that burst forth from him. Boy was he long winded! Maddie glanced at her watch, which was humorous because she didn't have one, and rolled her eyes as he continued to point out her flaws. Or rather, her perceived flaws that he made up on the spot. Really the guy must not have had anything better to do then insult her. Merlin knew he didn't have a girlfriend or real friends to bide his time with. As he ranted on about how she was the weaker sex and not up to his code, she found herself flushing slightly in irritation. First off, she took offense to the idea that she was the weaker sex and secondly, she never wanted to be 'up to code' for him! What a pretentious prat! As he finished his snotty little tirade, she took her turn and lit into him."Oh I have plenty of reasons to attack you... Let's see" She held up her hand and begin to count off on her fingers "1. You're a prat... 2. You're a bully... 3. You're a chauvinist pig... should I go on? I can do this all day." Clenching her fist at her side, she glared at him through narrowed eyes and flipped her hair "And what, pray tell, are those other unpleasant ways? I find it hard to believe that a man with your mental capacity has the imagination needed to come up with anything other then a fist..." Cocking her head to the side, she put her hands on her waist and waited. Granted if that meant a pretty Ravenclaw wanted their books carried to the library while having a rousing good chat he could hardly say no. In fact he even wanted to have a second conversation if the strange blonde was up for it. Ferris was always the type to run towards the impossible, what could he say, he shot for the gold even if he would only get the bronze. After being shooed from the library for talking too much, Ferris shoved his hands in his robes and started a hunt for his best mate. Madeline Pratt was a brilliant girl, just like him in that she knew how to have a good time. Having missed seeing her in the common room, and not finding her in the Great Hall he decided to give the outdoors a shot. Stepping outside he could smell the air and grinned to himself. Still warm and still beautiful out, Ferris could only hope his luck would continue. He tended to enjoy flying while it was still nice out, so Quidditch practice this term was already looking promising. Heading towards the lake he heard the tail end of what sounded like a cross conversation. The one voice was distinctive, he could hear Maddie being sharp with someone. Not sure what was going on he heard the other voice come back venom filled and nasty, had to be one of those no good snakes. "Very well then, carry on with your business, but don't think I will forget. I might not be able to hurt you, but it doesn't mean I can't seek my revenge in other, less pleasant ways."Ferris felt his over protective nature spring up in him when the other bloke spat out a threat at his best mate, and main girl Maddie. Following the voices he decided it was time to open his own mouth, "Sounds like someone is a lot of talk. To think threatening a girl, what sort of man are you going to turn into? I think there are flobberworms rolling about the grounds with more class than you," Ferris puffed out his chest a little as he crossed his arms and stared back at the monkey faced prat looking back at Madeline. "What did the git do to get you in such a tizzy?" His voice was lower and directed to Madeline as he tried to assess the situation, though his quick tongue as always getting him involved where he didn't belong. Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #7 on October 22, 2009, 10:57:11 AM "You call those valid reasons?" Callum asked. "You think it is perfectly okay to attack me when I'm not even-" he stopped abruptly as another figure approached, and he frowned heavily. Was this entire school nothing but Hufflepuffs? Oh, and this one was going to try to be her knight in shining armor. Ridiculous. Callum was pretty sure he could take this guy with one hand tied behind his back. Callum made an open and closing motion with his hand, as though he was mocking the way he was babbling. "This does not concern you. And I wasn't threatening her. Not to mention, you don't know the whole story here. I was standing off, minding my own business, skipping rocks, and she came and plowed me over. But did I retaliate? No, I did not. I simply dried myself, and was having a mostly civil conversation- well, civil on my side at least, before you interrupted."Then he turned his attention directly back to Madeline. "As I was saying, none of those reasons warranted pushing me into the lake, and you know this. And if being a prat is reason enough, you should spend your life in that lake, considering it is your namesake. And I am not a chauvinist, I am simply old fashioned. My views on the opposite sex are no worse than most. Unlike others, though, I see no reason to lie about it." "And the other unpleasant ways are none of your concern." He pointed a finger at Ferris this time, "And it none of your concern, either. And if you care to make it your concern, I'll make you regret that decision. There is no room for pointless chivalry here, when she is in the wrong. Though I doubt you would be bright enough to grasp exactly what she has done wrong. All you do is walk up and see a lady whom you presume to be victimized. I am the victim in this situation, not her, I can assure you of that." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #8 on October 22, 2009, 03:10:25 PM Maddie didn't consider herself a Damsel in Distress, but she couldn't help but be pleased when Ferris suddenly popped out of nowhere. True, she was not a fan of one sided battles, such as it would become if Ferris joined in, and she preferred to fight her own, but there was something very moral boosting having someone on your side to validate your reasons for fighting in the first place. When he asked what the arse had done to piss her off so badly, Maddie started to tell him about the 'squid' incident when Callum rudely cut in. As Callum attempted to malign her in his typical needlessly verbose way, Maddie's fists clenched into balls so tightly that her white knuckles threatened to turn transparent and her nails dug neat little half moons into her palms. When he finished oh so elegantly, accusing Ferris of mistaking who the real victim was, Maddie blew up."Don't you DARE lie to him! I don't HAVE to explain anything to him because he KNOWS I would never attack someone unprovoked, unlike someone we know..." She gave him a pointed look as she paused for emphasis before going on "... And furthermore, last time I checked, Animal Abuse is a damn good reason to attack someone! You weren't skipping stones, you were trying to hit the poor squid with a rock, ya fetid piece of Dragon shite..."Reaching down, she picked up a small rock. Tossing it up in the air, she caught it before glaring back at him "But if that isn't a crime, then I suppose this isn't either!" and with that, she yanked her arm back and flung the rock at him. It missed by a decent margin, as she had planned, falling harmlessly behind him. But it was close enough to make it clear that not only did she have good enough aim, but she had no qualms about tossing rocks at his head. After all, he was lower on the totem pole then the squid was, in her opinion. Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #9 on October 26, 2009, 10:30:59 PM Ferris found himself suddenly involved in something he hadn't expected. The Slytherin who was clearly irritated with his best mate, was being a pain and it wasn't going to be long before he caught the wrong side of Ferris's currently good mood. In general he was a cheerful bloke, great with conversation when there was one to be had. What he saw here was a clear cut case of a bully retaliating on a girl no less. He was fair for the most part, but when it came to his best mate he was biased to believe her over some dungeon dweller. Slytherin's were known to be full of bullocks for the most part, and Madeline had never steered him wrong. It was well known that Madeline Pratt was not a liar, almost as well known as he was her second despite the shiny new silver prefect badge that shimmered from his chest. There was no reason for him to back away from protecting her now. "And the other unpleasant ways are none of your concern."That was a sore spot for Ferris, when another threatened her or any female he saw red and it wasn't the Gryffindor flag. Maddie was well equip to handle herself, he didn't need to step in or bother but if that bloke touched a hair on her head he wouldn't hesitate to knock him right on his arse. Badge be damned, no one would get a chance to swipe at her. "Don't you DARE lie to him! I don't HAVE to explain anything to him because he KNOWS I would never attack someone unprovoked, unlike someone we know..."Maddie fired back at Callum and Ferris let his dark brow eyes shoot from Callum to Maddie when she threw the rock his eyes grew huge. Ferris knew how good a shot Maddie was, "I wouldn't keep getting at her if I were you, she won't miss next time." When Maddie finally spewed out the bit about Callum attacking a defenseless squid, he grumbled. "Oh like picking on things that can't fight back do you..." Crossing his arms he glared at the git across the way. "What did he ever do to you that you think skipping rocks at it is justified," it wasn't his battle but he was protective of Maddie. Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #10 on October 27, 2009, 03:43:46 PM "Lie to him?" Callum asked, shocked. "I am not a liar! I am many things, I'll admit I could be called many horrid things, but I am not a liar! A man's honesty is part of his honor, and I would never do anything to compromise my own honor! I don't know how much you think you know about me, but it's apparently not very much!" He crossed his arms, and then spat violently at the ground near her feet. "I will not stand by while you slander me. Slander is a crime, and I know people in high places.""And I wasn't abusing any animal! Last I checked it is not illegal to skip stones across the lake. It's not like I saw anything in there to aim for. I'm pretty sure if I had whacked that giant tentacled beast that it would have let me know, don't you think? But do you even see a ripple of activity? No. The only thing that's been angry in that water was me, when you pushed me in! Believe you me, I'll be sure to let the proper people know what you did to me and-" Callum cut off as she threw a rock at him, and it went whizzing past his head.Never in his life had Callum wanted so badly to hex a girl. Or at least render her incapable of moving. Then he turned on Ferris, frowning. "You're just going to let her toss rocks at me, are you? You're in a position of power here, you know. You're supposed to treat all students fairly. I have not harmed or even attempted to harm her at all, yet you're going to let her get away with throwing rocks at me? I'm pretty sure that has to be some sort of violation of whatever rules you and your stupid badge are supposed to follow. Or are you too thick to see what is going on here? Just because I'm a Slytherin you're going to assume I'm the bad guy, are you? Well, we'll see how long that keeps you in a position of authority.""Apparently both of you are entirely too stupid to realize who you're dealing with and to recognize innocence when you see it. I was doing nothing wrong, and I won't stand here and be insulted and victimized for no reason! The two of you will pay for this, I swear it on Merlin's grave you will! No one messes with me and gets away with it. I am Callum J. Knight! I have one of the most impressive pedigrees to exist, and my father has some of the best connections in the wizarding world. I could have the both of you in trouble for what you've done to me!""And the best part about it is, I know I'm not lying. This story would come out just as I have told it to you even under truth serum if that's what it would take. I am not a man to make empty threats. A man is only as good as his word, after all, and like I previously stated, I refuse to do anything to call into question my integrity." His speech now concluded, Callum turned his back on the two Hufflepuffs and stalked off toward the castle. They had not seen or heard the last of him, no sir. He was going to make sure of that. Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #11 on October 29, 2009, 12:34:53 AM As Callum burst into a tirade to end all tirades, Maddie started to bend down and retrieve another rock. Apparently the only way to get this idiot to shut up was to bust some teeth. She prefered using words to fight her enemies, but then she couldn't get a word in edgewise with this moron, aside from a few "suuuure", "Yeah... right... Mhmm..." and "Oh that's rich...". She tossed the rock up in the air threateningly until he made a point to mention that Ferris was a prefect and had to be fair. He had a point, Ferris couldnt sit by and watch her throw rocks at Callum without getting in trouble. Sighing inwardly, she tossed the rock off to the side. He wasn't worth getting both her and Ferris in trouble. When he finished and stormed off without giving either of them a chance for a rebuttyl, Madeline said loudly to Ferris "Don't they say that those who say the most have the least to say?..." Rolling her eyes, she shook her head "Merlin what an idiot. He thinks he scares me but he doesn't. Hiding behind his daddy like a pathetic little baby..." Shaking off her irritation, she grinned at Ferris "Next time I will wait for you... You should have seen him all wet. It was hilarious and oh so perfect." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #12 on October 31, 2009, 10:21:11 PM Rolling his eyes as Callum stormed off like a big baby, Ferris ruffled his mass of dark hair. "What is his major malfunction Madds? I mean honestly what did he eat a bee or something it seems like he was a little more flare then fight anyway." All that blather about him breaking the rules and upholding the badge, what sort of nonsense was he coming up with. Fighting with a girl was supposed to be against the rules, he figured that he would throw Callum the rule book sometime and tell him to bone up on proper procedure or shut his bleeding trap. Relief washed over him as the stone once held in her hands made it to the soft ground below. Granted he knew he should have scolded her, but she was his closest friend. Maddie had been his best mate practically since the moment the sorting hat found his head, they were in the same house and like two drops of rain blended. Since then whenever you saw one you saw the other, it was how Ferris thought all friendships were supposed to be. Looking over to the water he turned his eyes back to Madeline, "Look I'm sure he did but did you have to push him into the drink and throw stones at his thick skull? I have to say it is highly unlikely I will be able to keep this bloody thing if I don't discipline you next time," he motioned to his silver badge hooked onto his robes. It was with that shiny piece of metal that Ferris did the unthinkable, the young boy found favor from his strict father who had such high expectations for the boy with such a strong wizarding background. "The last thing I want to do is have to deduct points from our own house..." he muttered kicking a rock into the water. Ferris had really kinda wished he could of enjoyed the little tiff but he found his conflicted desire to participate and nix an unpleasant sensation. "Other then tossing snakes in the water, what have you been doing..." Ferris was ashamed to admit he had been neglecting his best mate. I have to say it is highly unlikely I will be able to keep this bloody thing if I don't discipline you next time,"Maddie snorted at his unintentionally dirty joke, grinning at the idea even though she didn't even know why it entertained her so much, but sobered up when he motioned at the pin. She knew how hard it was for Ferris to get his father to admit to being proud of him, something that was foreign with a father like hers, and she felt guilty for possibly ruining that. When he muttered about deducting points from Hufflepuff and kicked a rock, there was a short period of uncomfortable silence. Maddie opened her mouth to apologize when Ferris changed the subject, seemingly morphing back to his sunny self."Other then tossing snakes in the water, what have you been doing...""Oh NOW you want to know huh? After weeks of leaving me ALL alone to my own devices while you are off snogging girls... and NOW you care..." She said dramatically, but the smile on her face made it clear that she wasn't serious. Reaching out, she punched him playfully, but hard, in the arm. It was the closest thing to revenge that she would take on him, since she couldn't find it in herself to be mad at him for long. "... Anyways, not much. School. Homework. Sticking to the Man.... Speaking of that..."She retrieved her bag where she had abandoned it and dug around in it until she found the note she got from Astrid. It was about SAWS and the meeting they would be having in a couple days. Showing it to Ferris, she smiled "... Wanna come? There should be a good deal of people there... Refreshments too, if nothing else...It's about Ollie..." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #14 on November 08, 2009, 10:24:33 PM Madeline was his best mate, they didn't get any closer than this or so he knew of. If his father found out defending her caused him to lose his Prefect pin it would be the end of the best friendship he had for certain. Ferris's father could have fun, that was no doubt, but when it came to his personal future anyone who threatened it would be on the black list in the Nightwing family. Ferris's mum was far more forgiving. Beverly had a heart of gold, which must of been why his father fell in love in the first place. The connection to the Quinn family meant that Ferris was not only well off, but also complicated. Lukas, Ferris's uncle was no role model for normalcy. Thankfully he was more like his mum than his uncle in that respect. From the outside they were a typical family with an overbearing patriarch at the helm, that was thrown out the window the moment you added in the mixed up uncle who couldn't decide if he loved or loathed his only (known) son. Jasper and Ferris did not see eye to eye. Ferris was a do gooding Hufflepuff and two years younger, Jasper was a snake, no more need be said there. The family trait of being involved as a prefect or head boy remained in tact. Jasper was named Head Boy which made his father bare-down even harder on Ferris, if he doesn't come up with that honor he feared he might be written off in the long run. It was not like a Nightwing to not excel in their field or studies, and he knew of that because of all the badgering from his father."Oh NOW you want to know huh? After weeks of leaving me ALL alone to my own devices while you are off snogging girls... and NOW you care..."Ferris felt his brow start to furrow, "Woah ho! I am not snogging other girls." Astrid was not like other girls, he was just having a polite conversation. "What am I not allowed to walk a girl to the library without being accused of snogging them? Trust me when I snog a girl they know they have been, well snogged." Crossing his arms in a silent protest, he sighed. Inhaling deeply he cocked his head to the side, "If I am flirting with girls then what was this display of machismo I just stepped in on?" "... Anyways, not much. School. Homework. Sticking to the Man.... Speaking of that...""Sticking it to who?" When she mentioned SAWS, he was intrigued. "For Ollie you say," he pondered briefly before nodding. "Yes I think that would be right up my alley," that and when she mentioned refreshments he felt his stomach grumble a bit. Ferris loved him some food, especially if it was for a good cause and such. Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #1 on October 18, 2009, 08:46:52 PM "... Merlin, how long is it gonna take for them to fire her?" Maddie muttered to herself as she re-read over the same article blaring across the front page of the Daily Prophet for the upteenth time. It was with this knowledge that Maddie put all her strength into her legs and pushed off, barreling towards Knight's back with the intent to send him face first into the lake.((Its up to you my dear to decide if he gets hit or not)) Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #2 on October 18, 2009, 09:37:07 PM The third rock landed closer to shore, because Callum was suddenly distracted by a strange sound. Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #3 on October 20, 2009, 02:18:57 AM OutfitIf you had asked Maddie if she thought pushing someone in the Lake was funny, she would tell you it most certainly was not, it was barbaric, dangerous and just plain immature. "Don't worry though, I won't tell anyone and no girl is ever gonna see it, so your secret is safe with me..." Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #4 on October 20, 2009, 04:12:14 PM She was laughing at him. I might not be able to hurt you, but it doesn't mean I can't seek my revenge in other, less pleasant ways." Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #5 on October 20, 2009, 07:12:43 PM She paused and turned to him, caught off guard by the torrent of insults that burst forth from him. Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #6 on October 21, 2009, 11:59:45 PM Ferris was busy all afternoon, being a prefect and all he was expected to help students from whatever house that needed him. Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #7 on October 22, 2009, 10:57:11 AM "You call those valid reasons?" Callum asked. I am the victim in this situation, not her, I can assure you of that." Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #8 on October 22, 2009, 03:10:25 PM Maddie didn't consider herself a Damsel in Distress, but she couldn't help but be pleased when Ferris suddenly popped out of nowhere. Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #9 on October 26, 2009, 10:30:59 PM Ferris found himself suddenly involved in something he hadn't expected. Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #10 on October 27, 2009, 03:43:46 PM "Lie to him?" Callum asked, shocked. Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #11 on October 29, 2009, 12:34:53 AM As Callum burst into a tirade to end all tirades, Maddie started to bend down and retrieve another rock. It was hilarious and oh so perfect." Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #12 on October 31, 2009, 10:21:11 PM Rolling his eyes as Callum stormed off like a big baby, Ferris ruffled his mass of dark hair. Skip to next post

Reaching out, she punched him playfully, but hard, in the arm. It was the closest thing to revenge that she would take on him, since she couldn't find it in herself to be mad at him for long. "... Anyways, not much. School. Homework. Sticking to the Man.... Speaking of that..."She retrieved her bag where she had abandoned it and dug around in it until she found the note she got from Astrid. It was about SAWS and the meeting they would be having in a couple days. Showing it to Ferris, she smiled "... Wanna come? There should be a good deal of people there... Re: [Sept 13] Giant Squids Are Stupid; Throw Rocks at Them (Open) Reply #14 on November 08, 2009, 10:24:33 PM Madeline was his best mate, they didn't get any closer than this or so he knew of.
