Hogwarts Mafia Plot

Bad boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha gonna do?

It might be presumptuous to offer this as a main plot, but I figured that there will be several people involved, so it might qualify. If not, I will move it :P

So here is the idea: This year, Devlin really wants to get the gang moving into more serious endeavors. Sure they will still extort money, sell test answers, beat people up when paid and so on, but he wants to turn it into a more legit criminal practice. I think he will start doing so by working for Miss Analiza Snark herself.

The idea is that Analiza hires him for two purposes: To draw attention away from what she is doing (see the Bombs Away plot) and to procure her things she might need for her work. I am not quite clear on all that they will be doing, but it will likely involve things like sabotage, stealing and possibly assault.

Thats not all though. See, I want Devlin to get caught. Not his crew necessarily, unless they wish to be caught as well, but him for sure. The intention is for him to get caught and arrested and then bailed out by his father Knox. I haven't decided what will come of him after that (though he will return to school under Knox's orders).

What I need is the following:

- Gang Members
- One gang member that talks and gets him caught
- Customers willing to pay him for crimes
- People he can conduct "business" with
- Aurors to catch and arrest him.
- Victims

I'm still willing to offer Mai for the gang - she's young and innocent looking enough that that could be an advantage.  We'll still have to work out her meeting someone in the gang, but yeah- that's easy enough to do.

In addition, she's not a full auror anymore but, being at school, Tulo could certainly get wind of what's going on.  Either through reports from victims who come to the hospital wing or something else.  Don't know - it's an option.

And this may be more than you're looking for in this plot - but I figured I'd offer.  If Cin got wind of this going on (which is highly likely since Ava's imperioused) I can entirely see Cin helping orchestrate / egg on / take advantage of this group.

Aileen might want to use Devlin as a go-between for her and Cin, hahaha. If she finds out about it. It could be useful/fun if Devlin wanted to keep Analiza updated on Aileen's plans, too. :)

Jordyn feels like somehow this should affect her life, haha, considering her male friends are involved (as well as male enemy).  Since she's also a prefect, it could be an opportunity for her to try and intercede and then be told to back off, by the headmistress (!!!!).  I dunno if that would work, but it could be getting her into a position of complacency and even doing business under the guise of official duty - aka, getting things during patrol and delivering things after hours.  Fun, fun!  She doesn't like to break the rules, but if the Headmistress says so........ then it's probably not breaking the rules!

Archer could be involved somehow, but I don't think he deals with the kiddos well - maybe after Hogwarts he and Dev can have a run in ;) then he wouldn't have to be so nice about it! haha.

Eddie would happily arrest the scamps. He loves a bit of extra work and how much trouble can a bunch of kids really cause? :P

Hehe. Absolutely love tangling plots.  :D ;)

I really like this plot idea, as depending on how big it gets, I think a good many characters in the MLE could possibly get involved. It would depend on the severity of the crimes committed, but there could be interrogation of students, interviewing, and a lot of political murkiness for how far the Ministry can get involved in Hogwarts internal affairs concerning minors. I think there would be a lot of stepping on the new Headmistress' toes by the Auror Office. But again, it depends on how large the crimes are whether or not a handful of Aurors (such as Sam, Laura, and Pratt) are involved or if a good portion of the Office jumps on the bandwagon.

Likewise for the arrest I think. If its just Devlin arrested, only a couple or so of Aurors would be needed for that. Though if more students are willing to get caught, it could turn into a raid, which would make awesome Daily Prophet Headlines.  :D Even if some of the students involved or affected are willing to be removed from Hogwarts and questioned, but not necessarily charged could be fun. There could be students who lawyer up (Demetra Crouch is back, after all!), others whose parents whisk them away or bail them out. Students who are innocent but suspected for relations to Matthews could be questioned. Potential to be very big and a lot of fun. But it depends on what everyone wants.

Ambitious plot bunnies are jumping around in my head, you will have to forgive them. xD

As for Tam, I do not think she would be a part of the actual arrest unless it was on a large scale. But she could have a hand in the investigation, especially in trying to gain the Headmistress' cooperation. If Tulo reports the on goings to the Auror Office, possibly how they could begin to get involved in the first place other than parents filing complaints with the DoMLE and stuff.

Josh while I appreciate the offer of Laura helping, I prefer keeping this strictly to RPed characters. Sam is fine to join though.

while I want Analiza to eventually be caught for what she is really doing, I dont want it to be right off the bat. Which is why she is going to hire the boys, with the intention of keeping the public eye on them, as well as the already publicized issues like SAWS. She will likely have them sabotage SAWS and PAWS in hopes to make them look foolish.

the way I see it is that while there is a great number who oppose her and joined SAWS, there is also a great number of people who support her and are mad that there was a werewolf around their children and they weren't told. I know I would be mad lol

anyways, long story short, we can draw this out as long as it needs to go. Maybe the boys get arrested one by one, but the aurors cant get anything out of them about the situation or who hired them. And SAWS would be painted as an enemy to some people because of sabotage, which I think would be good for them. Nothing like a maligned underdog :P

since the boys wont be doing anything that Ana herself can be blamed for, I dont see a full scale raid happening until the news that she is doing something illegal gets out. THEN we can have a raid hehe :D

And, this very well, could be something that allows Tulo an opportunity to get reconnected with the Auror office as well as remain at Hogwarts.  And, she'd be an interesting one to have in that position.  And, she'll be in an interesting position of being conflicted as to how to help them.  She's never been an advocate for locking up young people so I also know, in the end, she'd be campaigning strongly within the Auror office to dismiss or modify charges as well.  Haha and if Mai does get involved, and arrested, it seems rather sadly hilarious to have her sitting in some interview chair in the auror's office.  She's already met Aberdeen - hmm.
