Wand: Gab owns a 12” Mahogany wand with essence of unicorn blood. The handle is twisted and the wand firm to grip.
Physical Description: 
Gabriella Roslyn Dagon largely takes after her mum in appearance. She has tanned skin giving her a healthy look. Very often, Gabby’s cheeks will be blushed and red with either fury or embarrassment. Her dark brown eyes are incredibly expressive and can often get her Dad into doing most things for her. They are complimented by long and thick, dark eyelashes. Gabriella’s hair is thick as well. Messy brown waves protrude from her head and tend to head in every direction possible. Her hair almost reaches her waist and spends most of it's time tackled into a plait or a hairclip.
Often seen in baggy jeans and t-shirts, Gabby likes to be comfortable. Besides, when at her Dad’s, dealing with dragons, you can’t run away fast enough if you’re worrying about your skirt flying up or if your jeans are too tight. When at work and away from the ranch however, and away from her Dad’s watchful eye, Gabriella will tend to indulge her fashion sense and wear clothes more fitting of a 19 year old girl.
Due to her mother having spoken to her in Spanish sometimes as a child, and growing up from the age of five in the French Alps, Gabriella's accent is difficult to place. It mostly sounds English but there is a slight twang of something more foreign. She speaks English, French and Spanish.
Personality Description:A simple way to describe Gabriella Dagon’s personality would be to compare her to a fire breathing owl. She is intelligent, a student that regularly gets herself Outstanding grades. With intelligence comes slyness and an ability to con people into giving her what she wants.
The fire breathing part emerges from Gabriella’s explosive and volatile temper. She can anger exceptionally easily and is always well prepared for a fight of wits, wands or fists. Maybe even all three put together!
Gabby is a strong minded individual that wants to plan everything before going about it. Well, she says she does. The young girl is in fact very unpredictable in what she does, making her a constant surprise and annoyance to her father. She is dreadfully spontaneous and can often land herself in precarious situations no matter how much planning she has undertaken.
Even when having landed herself in an interesting or scary situation, Gabby fails to lose her spirit and need to fight. She may scare easily, but those emotions are soon overcome and replaced with a passion to fight and get over the problem at hand. She’s been told several times that this trait she had gained from her mother.
At the age of 5, Gabby lost her mother, leaving her to live with her Dad in a male orientated setting at his Ranch. Her fiery personality truly came out when the two started to have arguments as she grew older. She has always wanted to break away and grow up for herself, but having a Father like Felix Dagon has always made it hard for her when he has attempted to smother her.
Since starting at Hogwarts, Gabriella has pretty much had her future planned out in her head. She adores Quidditch and sports and anything physical. However now she has graduated, Gabby has truly no idea what she wants to do in her future. She flits each day between different career paths.
Gabriella is also currently having a crisis of identity. Not only does she not know what she wants to do with her career in the future, but she is lost about her sexuality and is currently very confused.
History:In 1988, Kayleigh Cox and Felix Dagon formed a relationship. One could say that the couple came from opposite sides of the tracks. Both were 15. Kayleigh was a muggleborn Slytherin that came from a muggle family that had now rejected her. Felix was from a pureblood family with very precise beliefs. It didn’t matter to the teenagers what their families thought of them and they stayed together until after school.
Kayleigh wanted to began training as auror, but she fell pregnant at the age of 19 shortly out of school. Nine months later, she gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. This child, they named Gabriella, meaning Heroine or God.
As soon as possible, after having Gabriella, Kayleigh applied to train as an auror, something she’d always wanted to do. She was accepted and began her training while Felix continued his work at the ministry with dragons. Gabby was never really interested in what he actually did back then.
What was interesting, however, is how her mother managed to actually get into the ministry and keep her job while the blood prejudice was spreading and muggleborns were becoming a somewhat endangered species. Apparently, Kayleigh had come up incredibly close to being found out. Therefore, she’d spend a long time looking through genealogy records in the ministry and had been surprised to find a pureblood family with her very surname. They had in fact died out, but they could all be living in another country, right? Thankfully, this made Kayleigh and Felix’s relationship far less suspicious and she tried to act nonchalant towards the whole idea of blood purity.
At the peak of the war, Kayleigh began to work a lot harder than before while trying to hide her true blood from anyone they knew. This became harder as Felix, thanks to the pressures of his family, joined the DE clan. Although Gabriella has never had a straight answer about why he did it, or what he did, what she is aware of is that he was apparently helping the ministry in some way or another.
When Gabby was 5 years of age, the Battle of Hogwarts commenced and obviously, Kayleigh went off to fight on the side of the ministry. Ironically, the love of her life soon followed after to fight on the opposite side. Gabby roughly remembers hearing arguments and lots of shouting beforehand, but nothing more.
That night, Kayleigh Cox was killed by a DE via the Avada Kedavra curse and Gabriella’s life changed forever. Any hopes of marriage to his daughter’s mum had vanished from Felix’s mind and the two were left to carry on without the brave woman.
A couple of years after the death of her mother, Gabriella and Felix moved away from London and England and onto a Ranch in Europe so that Felix could commence his own work with Dragons rather than working for someone else. Gabriella resented the distance she was from anyone she knew and this feeling was only mildly soothed when her Dad brought a companion for her. A dog who she named Merlin.
This dog, she used to be a constant thorn in her Dad’s side. Many a prank could be played with the help of a furry friend and this was when she and her father started to fight. She was growing up, getting her own mind, and he didn’t seem to like this much.
Hogwarts obviously provided a much welcome retreat. Gabriella was thrilled to receive her acceptance letter and proudly took up a place in Gryffindor house, much to the surprise of her father. With nobody in her family previously having been in Gryffindor house, Gabby was very pleased with herself. She was already very different from the rest of that lot.
She spent her first couple of years excelling and trying all sorts of new things while trying to fit in. She joined the Quidditch team and found her largest passion in life. She also started to become far more outgoing, enjoying being around all sorts of different types of people.
Gabby started to resent having to go home for the holidays to a father that seemed to have no idea how someone her age should be treated. It infuriates her how she isn’t allowed to do certain things that she loves and boys seem to be a nightmarish subject even though she has to constantly deal with Felix’s lack of respect for the female race and his inability to hold down a relationship anymore.
How Do You Fit Into Your House?:Gabriella is not a coward. She may try to think things through, but will no doubt still go about it. She has guts that come with a pretty helpful brain. Gabby will always try new things and will no doubt risk her skin for another person. She will do just about anything, even if her motives are not entirely…suitable.
Writing Sample:Show your character in a scene that illustrates the
best and worst aspects of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.Gabriella stared up at the older boy as if a third arm had suddenly sprouted from the top of his head. “You want me to steal that old lady’s hat and
then you’ll give me my money?” She asked disbelievingly. “You’re a lunatic!”
Her eyes shot back to the shop window and to the woman wearing what looked like a dead peacock on her head. The woman looked to be about a hundred years old and pretty grumpy. Gabby then looked at the woman’s surroundings once more. A pretty dark, shoddy looking shop in the middle of Knockturn alley.
“What if I’m killed? Murdered? She looks like she might eat me. Not had a decent meal in ages.” Gabby shrugged before glancing back up at the boy. “It’s my money, so give it back. I’m not going to get myself eaten!” The tall boy grinned and folded his arms and Gab found herself wondering why the hell she’d had the heart to lend the few galleons to him anyway. Oh yes, he’d asked nicely and he’d been a pretty damn good kisser.
Shaking those thoughts from her head, Gabby took in a deep breath and marched towards the shop door before she could change her mind. She pushed it open and stepped inside.
A small bell rang as she entered the grotty shop and she shoved her hands in her pockets, looking around, trying her damndest not to look suspicious. But how could a fifteen year old girl walk into a shop called Murdering Mal’s Mephitic not looking suspicious?
Gulping silently, Gabby made her slow and quiet way towards the old peacock murderer.
Sum up your character in one paragraph:Gabriella spends her life on a short fuse. She angers easily but can calm down just as easily. She rarely holds a grudge and isn’t afraid of doing anything. Especially for a friend.
Gabriella Dagon: Waitress
