[September 12] We could write a Bad Romance [Buzz, Buzz]

The time: 8:27 P.M. The location: The Prefect's Bathroom. Lighting was low, as the sun had gone down, so no clear light shone through the windows. Zoey had set up candles around the sinks and some on the bathing quarters. A cauldron and multiple ingredients for potions brewing was also set upon the sink, where Zoey would be performing a highly intricate, above seventh year level potion. It was similar to a love potion, which wasn't so hard to make anymore, yet it was completely the opposite. It was the hatred potion. The effects generally let the drinker overcome emotional attachments to a person who wouldn't return thus attachments.

Over the summer, Zoey had changed quite a bit. Normally, a seventeen year old boy wouldn't make such drastic changes, but Zoey had. What was left of the little baby fat he had cleared up, and he was in shape now. He'd been to the gym some over the summer, so that helped as well. He'd grown about three inches and was now on the brink of an even six feet. When he got to Hogwarts, he cut off his long hair and dyed it blonde. He was ready for his remaining year at Hogwarts, ready to have some fun. He had locked himself up quite a bit over the previous six years, but now he could be freer with himself.

Since his change, though, a few younger females had become extremely bent on getting his attention, and he would rather them not go there. So, now he was in the prefect's bathroom, brewing hate potion and waiting on his counter-part to make an appearance. She had the last ingredient he needed, and he always enjoyed the good company of his best friend.

Though most people were settling down in their dorms by now, Beatrix Dark's best friend insisted on meeting up in the prefect's bathroom for some potion. This definitely intrigued Beatrix, but she also wondered why he couldn't choose a time that was better for her... Like mid-day when she had History class. Or when everyone else was eating lunch. Beatrix had just settled into her favorite chair before she remembered that she had to go visit Zoey McAdams. And this nearly angered her before she remembered what for... This should be so dangerously fun, it would be not only criminal, but definitely scary and almost lunatic.

The last Bea had seen of Zoey was on the train back to school. Of course, she had no clue what he had done to his hair. When Beatrix entered the bathroom, her uniform wrinkled and disfigured from an afternoon nap, she nearly panicked at the sight of the blonde boy. Especially since she had a tube of a mysterious ingredient she had bought off a mysterious figure in an alley way. Though, she would never tell anyone that. "Who are you? I've never seen you before... You're not a pref-" Oh... Duh. "Hey, Zee!" She smiled, innocently, before giving him a big hug.

Beatrix studied the cauldron before handing the tube to her friend, "Hrm. Here. I don't know how to do this." Not yet, at least. "Who's this for, anyways?" Preferably, Bea would give it to Ava and make her back off of her best friend. Or maybe to Devlin Matthews and get him to hate Fauna Blake... Not that it mattered, anyways. She just felt sorry for the girl. Plus, Beatrix wasn't sure if the potion even worked that way. But whoever it was for, it would be extremely fun to watch.

The flames beneath the cauldron were burning on a low heat at the moment. Zoey was geared up and ready. He was wearing his black tank top, white runner's shorts (so there were slits up the sides, and yeah, you could see a hint of a man-thong underneath), and on his feet were Japanese-style sandals. Another odd outfit, so that much of Zoey hadn't changed. He was waiting on his last ingredient to start the potion, as it was the first to go in. Finally, footsteps grew louder and in walked a fiery haired girl with a tube of something in her hand.

"Who are you? I've never seen you before... You're not a pref- . . . Hey, Zee!"

A smile was produced upon his face when she saw he'd changed his hair, but then again, so had she last year. "Hello, my darling. Is that the ingredient?" He snatched it from her hand, though softly as to not make her angry, and studied the tube. Yes, sir, it was just what he needed. Unscrewing the top, he held it over the cauldron, which was filled a quarter of the way with bubbling water, and squeezed all of the tube out. The liquid was a gooey, black color, and smelt highly of roses. "Ugh, this smells like decrepit flowers."

Next he added in four spider legs, two snake fangs, a bottle of firewhiskey, and other multiple objects. "If this goes as planned, which knowing my potion skills, it should, we'll both have enough to fend off people we can't stand, and in return, they'll not be able to stand us either." He giggled. "And if you want, slip it into Devlin's goblet next time dinner, and maybe he'll stop chasing Fauna. I do hate that they paired up this year. Such an unlikely couple." He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "What would people say if we ever coupled up?" He emphasized the we.

The gooey liquid made Bea's face form a grimace. She had seen worst, so the churning of her stomach wasn't as bad as usual. Though... She thought the smell was rather nice. Zoey wouldn't understand, though. He was just weird in many different ways. Especially that outfit of his. She looked him up and down and muttered "Nice." Before smiling slyly to herself. Bea had no room to talk. Her outfits were never considered "normal" either.

"And if you want, slip it into Devlin's goblet next time dinner, and maybe he'll stop chasing Fauna. I do hate that they paired up this year. Such an unlikely couple."

A cheeky grin spread across the young Ravenclaw's lips. "Oh, Zee. You can practically read my mind." Bea giggled, not one thought could flash through her mind without Zoey immediately knowing it. That's why they were such good friends. And because Zee was the only person that could possibly understand Beatrix. No one else would understand why Bea drooled over Professor Bombay, or why she didn't eat other people's Parmesan Chicken. That's why the following question gave her goose bumps.

"What would people say if we ever coupled up?"

Where did this come from? Beatrix didn't exactly know what to think of this. "Well... I don't think people would be surprised... We are very close..." Her voice cracked a bit and her eyebrows arched. "Why do you ask?" Bea turned to him, awkwardly. "I don't know what people would think. But they should really keep their thoughts to themselves." She gave him a wink and a nudge with her elbow before turning back to watch the potion form... Whatever was happening right now was like something she read out of a sappy muggle book she once borrowed from Zoey.

The potion brewing turned a milky white liquid after a few minutes as Zoey kept stirring. Within the thirty minutes they'd been there, the potion was switching colors frequently, as it turned a bright shade of blue after the white. He'd chosen to keep Beatrix in silence after she asked why he thought of such a question. It was better to let her anticipate his response, though he was just asking a simple question. He never planned to follow through with a relationship beyond siblings with Beatrix.

Finally, he let out a sigh and turned away from the potion. "It was just a question. Just wanted to get your thoughts. I don't know. Myself, I think, we're too close to get closer. More like siblings that never fight, you know? And I do love you. Who knows, though, what the future holds?" He smiled. "Except maybe that Astrid chick." It was public knowledge that the seventh year Ravenclaw girl was a seer, so she probably knew more dirt on everyone than they knew about themselves.

Turning to the potion, he looked down at the book next to it. "Seems like this is going to take another hour. It should eventually end up a dark magenta, and right now it's golden." He moved himself to the tub, where he proceeded to fill it ankle deep with water. "Might as well soak our feet."

The silence really was killing Beatrix. Zoey had never thought this way before, and Beatrix had no idea why he would think such things. But he finally spoke and she let out the air she had no idea she was holding in. "Hm..." She hummed before hearing the last thing he said. "What?" It definitely wasn't public knowledge to Beatrix that Astrid was a seer. And Bea tilted her head, "What do you mean?" She thought that maybe Zoey told Astrid secrets that he would normally tell Bea. She got jealous for a little bit before letting it go. He had the right to tell other people secrets... Right?

"Seems like this is going to take another hour. It should eventually end up a dark magenta, and right now it's golden."

Beatrix followed her friend to the tub and kicked off her shoes and pulled off her socks. "Hmm. Well. You're much too young for me, anyways." She peered over at Zoey with a crazed smirk. What WAS public knowledge was that Bea had become head over heels in LUUURRRV with Professor Graham Bombay. Then again, who wouldn't be? In fact, she was planning on asking him to the upcoming Halloween dance. Yes, she knows he's much too old. But why would she not try?

"I hope the potion turns out well... It would be disappointing if you messed up." She joked towards Zoey. She didn't doubt him at all.
