Full Character Name: Fiana Saoirse Flynn
    Character Birthday & Age: April 9, 1997 / 11
City & Country of Birth: Painswick, England
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Muggleborn
House & Year: Ravenclaw first year

Wand: Almond, short, spiraled shaft, springy, with a unicorn hair core

    Physical Description:
Fiana is very petite, standing a good two inches below the average height for her age, and very slim. This, along with her youthful features, makes her appear closer to nine than eleven. She has very fair skin that burns easily, so she's taken to wearing a hat or carrying a parasol if she goes out in the sun (she also thinks that the parasol, at least, makes her look cool). Her hair is dark brown and long, falling just a few inches short of her waist. It is very curly and difficult to manage. She has very large dark blue eyes, a long nose that turns up slightly at the tip, and a wide mouth with an impish smile.

    Personality Description:
Fiana is very theatrical and dramatic. She takes the quote "life is a stage" seriously. She's always playing some make believe game, where she is the star of the story. She is very creative and imaginative, and for this reason doesn't require others to be around in order to be entertained. She can easily entertain herself by daydreaming or making up an imaginary friend to play with.

Fi is very intelligent. She's a quick learner, and very curious about the world in general. She wants to know everything there is to know about everything, magic in particular, and has bought several books on the subject. She's a voracious reader, of both fiction and non fiction, and can't wait to start her classes at Hogwarts.

Perhaps it comes from being the oldest at home, or perhaps she was just born that way. Whatever the reason, Fiona has turned out to be quite stubborn and a little bossy, at least when it comes to playing make believe with her friends. She knows how she wants things done, and likes to be the director of a situation.

Fiana lives in her own little world, and doesn't always pay attention to what is going on around her. She's also a bit absent-minded, and forgetful. This makes remembering things like names and important dates (birthdays, etc.) difficult for her. It also makes keeping secrets difficult. She tends to blab things out without realizing it.

    History:
Fiana is the first of three children born to Patrick and Caitlin Flynn, having a younger brother Toby (who is at this time nine years old), and a younger sister Aislin (who is six). Her parents are artists, and have a very laid back lifestyle. From the beginning, Fiana and her siblings had almost no rules, and were encouraged to express themselves in whatever creative manner they chose. Fiana thought it was cool that she was allowed to draw on the walls in her bedroom, as this was something her friends were not allowed to do, but she wished her parents were a little more reliable at providing meals and things like that.

Prior to her acceptance to Hogwarts, Fiana attended the very small local primary school. Although she had a small circle of friends, she was considered a little weird by most of her fellow students. This was okay with Fiana. She liked being different. It made her unique. When she was eight, her parents took her to a production of Romeo and Juliet. Fiana immediately fell in love with the theater, and decided she wanted to act when she grew up. She began making up plays that she, her friends, and her siblings would perform for her parents. She, of course, was always the star.

Shortly after her eleventh birthday, her Hogwarts letter arrived, delivered by a Ministry official who explained things to her parents. Fiana was ecstatic. She'd always known magic existed, no matter what her teachers and other grown ups said. Now she's purchased her wand and a black cat (what other kind of pet would a proper witch have, after all?), and is eagerly waiting for the term to start.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:
Although you might not think it from your first impression of her, Fiana is quite smart. She doesn't sit down to study a lot, but she loves to learn new things so she ends up reading quite a bit, with a fair balance between fiction and non-fiction. She's very observant and naturally adept at school work.

    Writing Sample:
Show your character in a scene that illustrates the
best and worst aspects of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.

"Ugh, Toby, you're doing it wrong," Fiana told her little brother crossly, folding her arms over her chest. Sometimes being the director was such a difficult job, especially when working with such mediocre actors as her two younger siblings. Why can't he just get it right? she thought, sighing to herself. "You're supposed to be trying to rescue me from the dragon with your sword, not with a light saber. There were no jedi in Sleeping Beauty! Everybody knows that."

Toby, however, was being quite uncooperative. He absolutely refused to play the part of Prince Charming without his light saber. He didn't see why it had to be Prince Charming to begin with - why couldn't he be Luke Skywalker? Luke saved princesses, too. He'd saved his sister Princess Leia after all. If he could handle that, surely he could save Sleeping Whats-her-name. Fiana understood this, and ordinarily she would have let her brother run with it, but this was not just a game. This was a rehearsal! And in rehearsals you had to stick to the script.

The script said no light sabers. She knew this, because she'd written it.

"And Lin-lin," Fiana continued, turning to face her little sister. "Dragons do not bark. They roar! Like lions. You know what a lion says, don't you?" Aislin nodded, and gave a great big roar. At least one of her siblings knew how to do things right. "All right, let's try this all again."

Sum up your character in one paragraph:

Fiana wants to be a stage actress when she grows up, and this has made her very dramatic and theatrical. Always having been a creative child, she still lets her imagination run wild and enjoys playing make believe, and even has a few imaginary friends. She's a bit bossy at times, loves learning (especially about magic), and lives in her own little world.
