SR!If you have written other characters here, list them all: NoneFull Character Name: Michael Bryan StoneCharacter Birthday & Age: 17, born December 12th, 1991City & Country of Birth: London, EnglandPureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: HalfbloodHouse & Year: Ravenclaw, 7thWand: 11”, Hawthorne, Chimaera Heartstring, quite inflexible, colored black with a blue rune of unknown meaning.Physical Description: Michael stands at about six feet tall, tanned with light brown eyes, with straight and messy dark brown hair to match. His muscular build is decent, perhaps a little above average as a mere gift of genetics. He dresses like any normal teenager really, though he doesn’t waste his money on any sort of expensive clothes. After classes or on the weekends you could expect Michael to be wearing some jeans, muggle boots, and his favorite muggle jacket, a black and gray one which was his fathers. Personality Description: Michael is an interesting person to say the least. Micheal likes to believe he is a smart guy, which sometimes makes others think he is conceited. But it isn't as much that he thinks he is smarter then others, but that he enjoys learning and discovering new and improved ways of doing things, especially magic. He doesn't respect authority very much, therefore he sees most of his professors as fools. His inquisitive and intelligent nature leads him to want to be an unspeakable, or perhaps someone who deals in the trade of illegal goods, or information. Since Michael was seven, he has had these blackouts periodically, where he loses hours at a time to lost memory, usually waking up in strange places, or sometimes just where last was. This has caused him to be much more guarded than usual, because he does not like people knowing about the blackouts. Though he has not had one since summer, and in fact has never been caught in one during school with other people, he still fears it will happen one day.Michael is a fairly kind person, he never goes out of the way to hurt someone, and doesn’t get into many fights. However this is not very obvious. To most he appears cold and calculating. If people bring up his father, he gets pretty angry. Not many people know that Michael’s dad was a Death Eater though, but his name is on that list. Though he is not motivated in most of his classes, he does appreciate Defense Against the Dark Arts. It’s one class that has always interested him. He has always taken an interesting in dueling to match with this, and had read dozens of books on dueling theory, defensive theory, different techniques and styles, and all sorts of other things. To add to this, he prides himself in being a sort of tactician in dueling. Solo, one would place him above average on the richter scale of magical dueling, but his true skill lies in organizing groups for this sort of thing to victory. It's something he enjoys very much.Michael, for the most part, sits back and watches the world around him. He doesn't let things happen to him, but he likes to observe, and calculate the situation. He seems fairly emotionless, save for any bout of anger about his father, but deep down he is a nice guy, with a good heart. Another thing Michael does quite often is what he calls "social engineering". It's based off the idea that people are idiots, and if Michael wants to know something he'll find out one way or another. His social engineering was a term he stole from muggles -- something to do with computers, but to put it simply it just means he tricks or eludes people of his true intention and ultimately finds out what he wants. This has led him to be a go-to guy for information or resources. If something need to be known, Michael is your guy. He may not be the most personal type, but he had many connections. History: Michael Stone was born on December 12th, 1991 to Haley and Gregory Stone, two Scottish citizens, one pureblood and one muggle-born respectively. It was a happy life for the three of them, as Michael was an only child and therefore got all of the attention he needed. Haley was a work-at-home-mom as Greg pulled in enough money, owning a small chain of muggle bookstores. Michael grew up in a blissful magical environment, though being taught muggle heritage as well, as his mother thought it was quite important to know all aspects of life. What Haley and Michael did not find out till later was that his father had posed as a pureblood to be a death eater during the war. This became more and more apparently during the very early years of Michael's life -- his father would disappear for days at a time, claiming he was in foreign countries trying to expand his business. The real truth came out once Greg's body was found among the dead after the Battle of Hogwarts, adorning the robes of a death eater. At the age of seven Michael began to exhibit magical abilities. So you can imagine the excitement young Michael had when he found out that he too was going to be a wizard, though of course this was predictable. Being the inquisitive Ravenclaw-to-be, the boy wanted to learn everything he could before going to Hogwarts. So he did. Though he could not learn any wand work while at home, he practiced the movements with sticks he found in the woods. The excitement dampened when young Michael found out that his father was an evil man, a death eater. His vision of his great, kind, loving father had vanished and been replaced with the bloodshed and murder he had caused. But Michael pushed on. His mother however, took this incredibly hard. She became withdrawn as she took over the family business of running the book stores. On his 11th birthday, just under a year before he would get to go to Hogwarts, something terrible happened. A second peculiar morning in his eleventh year, Michael woke up to find his mother cooking breakfast like she never did, and when he greeted her she did not recognize him. At around this time, Michael started having these "blackouts". He would wake up, hours later in different places remember nothing. These used to be rampant, happening once every couple weeks but as he grew older, they died down. He has only had one now, in his seventh year, losing six hours on a Saturday, finding himself in the middle of the Quidditch pitch, where he never is, six hours later. Though he is concerned about what these are, Michael has never confronted anyone about them, and if anyone has seen him during his blackouts, they surely have not mentioned it. A mere week before Michael was sent to Hogwarts, he nagged his mother enough to give him money to buy his supplies. She gave him barely enough to get by. Michael had to learn to be crafty, and was forced to buy the bare minimum. He couldn't afford a wand with the stipend that was given to him, so he had to find one of his father's wands (he kept the wands of his victims) in the attic. His mother never found this out, and assumed that he had obtained a used one somewhere. The wand itself was of peculiar nature, and Michael made a note to find out where it had truly come from. School started and the years went by quickly. Michael was liked by all his teachers, described as “bright” yet sometimes "unfriendly", though he did make several friends but he never really fit in with the popular crowd, but he never had any concrete enemies. Most of his time was dedicated to the library, or in his dorm working. He never took an interest in Quidditch, as he never understood what was so entertaining about it. Things that could be more applicable to the real world is must more entertaining.Strangely, Michael had no luck with the girls either. It isn’t that he tried very hard, and he had had a few girlfriends but nothing really lasted past that first kiss. He’s aiming to find one to keep, but the search has come out fruitless so far. Most girls get irritated at how much he likes reading, learning, dueling, and other things. Many also know that he is a social engineer of sorts, which causes people to question how genuine he is. He wants to be the best. So now well into his sixth year, he’s looking to spice his life up a bit. His mother was being as cold as she always had been, and he's still in the business of information. What could be in store for Michael? Only time will tell as the tenth anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts -- and his father's death approaches. How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Michael fits in the Ravenclaw house down to a tee. He was always an excellent student and is very clever, loves mind games, and debating random topics with people, always trying to improve his logical game, dreaming to become some great professor, scholar, auror, unspeakable, or one of his other childhood dreams. Though as his sixth year is coming to an end, he is becoming if anything a small shame to the Ravenclaw house. Skipping classes, and whilst attending them not paying much attention. He’s really getting on his teacher’s nerves. He just thinks he is too good.Writing Sample:[This is from SR!]Michael woke up early on this Sunday morning, something that was most unusual for him to do, especially with his current attitude about school. He had a dream the night before, ominous it seemed, and it told him that he needed to join the Dueling Club. Well, more or less. He would have gone to the Professor MacDonell, the official sponsor for the club, but as he was his head of house, and was not pleased with Michael's current marks, he decided that would be a bad idea. So, why not the president of the Dueling Club herself?Michael did not know Ciarra that well. She had been in the club from the beginning, and was virtually known as the best duelist in the school -- as well as being very close to MacDonell himself. Michael didn't know much about her past, and honestly he did not care, he just knew if he wanted to join the club he needed to talk to her. It was already too late to sign up for the tournament, but Michael wasn't about flaunting his talents, only testing them to improve upon himself so that should a crisis arise, he can protect himself and the ones he loves. Michael had heard that Ciarra did some sort of exercises in the mornings when she could by the forest, and after not seeing her in the great hall, he figured that would be the next best place to look.Ciarra was found at a spot where Michael would often find himself when he needed time to think, doing push ups, following up with a hand stand. Michael didn't understand why people got into that stuff so seriously, he was just fine with lifting those muggle weights that Nathan had sent him at the beginning of the year (those poor owls). But, to each his own, or in this case her. Michael was in no place to judge people, not was he really the judging type.Walking up to her, not wanting to call her name while she was in the middle of an exercise, Michael was surprised when she got back to her feet, turned around, and had a wand drawn on him. Michael, who as always was twirling his wand in his hand dropped down and produced a protego, only to see that it wasn't needed. Michael didn't like it when people moved like that, and he certainly didn't like wants pointed at his face. Something he'd have to get used to. "Oh -- Ciarra." He greeted awkwardly, "Didn't mean to disturb you, just didn't want to call your name while you were working..." His voice trailed off. For the most part, Michael was a non-conflictive person, and didn't like it when people got the wrong impression on him."But the reason I'm here..." He began, forming his words carefully, "Well -- I want to join the Dueling Club." He said matter of factly. He was interested to see how Ciarra would react to this, as the two were friends... in a way, though not in the traditional manner one would expect. Though he has never been in the Dueling Club, it's public knowledge he really loves dueling, and it's also public knowledge that Ciarra is the same. One could say they have a friendly rivalry. Michael leaned back against a tree on the edge of the clearing, now relaxed with his protego dropped, an eyebrow raised to see her answer.Sum up your character in one paragraph:Michael Stone is an interesting character, one who strays from the Ravenclaw archetype in a peculiar way. He's a tricky fellow, one who enjoys a good duel even if he isn't the best. He is a master of conversation, communication and the like. Michael is also not afraid to get a little dirty, so he trades and passes information around Hogwarts for some extra change. Anyone who needs to know something best come to him. Skip to next post
