Physical Description:

Earnest looks more his father than he does his mother with a square jaw, dark hair, and a height under 6'. He's built like an athlete, lean and muscular. He's vain about his looks, keeping up that physique for show, and carefully maintaining skin, nails and hair.

He's a very well-dressed fellow, wearing the latest fashions and all is ostentatiously expensive. In this way, and in his public and personal life as a professional quidditch player, he fits in with his theatrical family.

Personality Description:

Earnest is at his best charming and gregarious. On the other end of the wand, he can be mean and snobbish. He's unashamed of and takes for granted his annual allowance from his parents that keeps him in modest luxury. He's frequent and popular at the clubs and enjoys the publicity from his career.

It is a running joke in his family that he is always dating or being dumped by a different witch whenever they meet at the holidays.

He's terribly bisexual and in denial, that sort of thing not always welcome in the world of professional sport, even these days. He falls in and out of love quickly, easy to recover and move on to the next. He has little thought of settling down.

On the quidditch pitch, he's highly effective and considered a valuable player: hard, fast, and efficient with a good head for the bigger picture. He rarely panics.

Earnest thinks little of politics despite his father's high Ministry position. This can make him bored at family gatherings were such talk is common. His views on things like the Statute of Secrecy, werewolves, squibs, class, race, and the like are largely uninspected.

Earnest has been seen from time to time at Camden Town Hookers.

History:

Earnest is protective and adoring of his mother Irene, who became a werewolf when he was a boy, and is long aware of his father Solomon's philandering. He was initially outwardly resentful at this, and his father's drinking, but Sol was kind to him and his sister and so, conflicted, Earnest decided to mostly ignore it well into adulthood.

Earnest was raised very comfortably in the countryside and surrounded by the extended Carstairs family. He was close growing up with Virgil and Adelaide, his cousins. He was and continues to be very close to his sister Cynthia, the artistic one, though they bite at each other often.

At Hogwarts, Earnest was a dispassionate Gryffindor but a decent student and popular quidditch player. He became a prefect in his 5th year. He had many friends and girlfriends over the years and managed to stay out of trouble, mostly due to being a little sneak about it. He kissed a boy or two, as joke, surely.

The professional quidditch league scouted him out of Hogwarts, and after a brief two years in a lower league was taken on by the Falmouth Falcons in where he played his whole career since 2007. In 2018, he was selected for the first time to represent England on the national team for the World Cup.

He lives in a high-end, high-floor flat all to himself in London, largely funded by allowance from his family. Though, since taking on a publicist, he's begun to build more of an income of his own.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:

As a starting chaser for the Falcons, Earnest attends practice daily in Cornwall, and travels around Britain and Ireland for matches. He keeps fit, dotes on his broom, and performs well in press events.

On the side, he pursues endorsement deals and other incoming-generating celebreté.

Earnest is a top-tier quidditch player. He's played since he was a kid, excelled at Hogwarts, and performed very well in a minor league before going pro.

Why did your character change occupations and what qualifications do they have?:
Earnest has been playing quidditch professionally since he was 18 (2005), and has been on Falcons since 2007. Now he's among the more experienced players on the team. He was made captain in 2014.  He draws some scandalous attention to the team from time to time with his extracurricular antics.

Character History 2013 - 2017:
The most significant thing to happen in Earnest's life in this period was his father Solomon's ascension to Minister of Magic in 2013.[1] If he was popular with the gossip rags before, he was their new darling for the first few years. His fashionable figure was frequently featured as well as a voyeuristic interests (and condemnations) of his wild-child activities.

Earnest is aware of his parents coldness and frigidity and avoids addressing it.

Summary:
The wild-child quidditch star son of the Minister of Magic. He enjoys the limelight and is for now content to sow his wild oats.
