Wand: At the age of eleven, Misha went to a German wandmaker who was a friend to his father. The wand, of course, chose him as they usually do. The wood was bubinga, native to few African countries. Kind of dark brown in color, Misha thought the wood seemed fitting. The core is from the ash of an ashwinder, and tends to give off a hot feeling when touched. In durability, Misha's wand is inflexible and smooth on the surface. It has a few knobs, but they are only for decoration. His wand runs about eleven and a sixth inches.
Physical Description: When he was younger, Misha had the looks of a model sports star. While at school, he worked out constantly, building his muscles on multiple levels. He kept in shape as much as he possibly could, while trying to maintain an average grade in school. At only seventeen, he was probably in the top five males at his institute to have the best athletic build and healthy stamina.
Now in his early thirties, Misha still tries to maintain a daily workout, keeping his older self in shape. He may not look extremely muscular, but he does keep in shape. He has a healthy, regular diet, with an occasional fire whiskey to even everything out. Overall, he is healthy and in shape for his age. He has to be, for the most part, in order to maintain a good image for not only himself and his team, but for the media as well. He wouldn't want the papers having anything to say about a quidditch coach who was out of shape and overweight.
As far as everything else goes, Misha is of average height for a male, coming in at around six feet on point. His hair is a regular shade of brown, and he usually keeps it short in length, letting it sort of stand how it wants to. Normally, his hair gets kind of a mind of it's own when he does let it grow. It tends to grow straight for a few inches, then curve in odd directions. That is a main reason he keeps it short. He has marshy green eyes, almost seaweed in color. They are the strongest feature on his face. A beard usually grows around his cheeks, chin, and above his lip is usually a mustache. He generally keeps that around stubble length.
Personality Description: Growing up, Misha was taught proper manners, and how to stick his nose up so far in the air, he'd eventually fall backwards. He comes from a rich, pureblooded German family. Those three qualities combined make for a nasty combination. He was raised to be poised, regal in nature, to look down upon muggleborn witches and wizards, and to protect the family and their jewels at all costs.
So, as a child, Misha was sort of like a mini version of his parents. He would only socialize with the upper society wizarding children. Sometimes, he would make jokes and try to hurt the mudblood children, which never really landed him in trouble because of the status he held. He was a hated child by lots of children his age, though many of his fellow purists tended to see him as a leader. He used that to his advantage later on in his life.
As he grew older, he sort of broke away from his parents personalities and developed his own sense of self. He knew he had been a git as a child, and in some ways, he regretted acting the ways he did. But he doesn't believe in harping on the past, so he tends to push those memories aside to make new ones. He started becoming a gentlemen of sorts. Not fully treating those lower blood levels like his own, but at least he no longer tried to hurt anyone below him.
At school, he became a leader again. Durmstrang did him well, as he captain a quidditch team and showed high regard as their version of a Head Boy. That was an overall trait he had. Leadership runs well through his veins, and he likes to think he does well as a leader. He respects those that follow him and he treats them with dignity and class.
Misha isn't exactly perfect, though. He has many fears that he tries to keep buried deep within him. When he was younger, he was locked in a bomb cellar, left from World War II, in the back yard by his father as punishment for accidently giving one of their house elves a piece of clothing. It was always his punishment when he did something wrong, so, he ended up developing a strong case of claustrophobia. Anytime he is confined, he tends to break out in a sweat, and curl up, shaking.
When it comes to women, Misha is more a gentleman than anything. He opens doors for ladies, smiles and kisses their hands upon greeting a new woman, and has been known for having lasting relationships. Currently, though, he remains single, and wouldn't mind meeting a lovely lady to accompany him around. He also believes women can work. His father and he disagree, as his mother was always home. Though brought up to believe in blood purity, he won't discriminate against a woman who isn't pureblooded. Though, the requirements for someone of lesser blood would have to be impressive for him to consider.
History: In 1976, in the lovely city of Dessau, Germany, a tall, blonde man by the name of Misha Prinz and his wife, a pregnant woman named Johanna, made their way to a hospital. Johanna's water had broken, and her baby was about to be born at any minute. It was the eighth of October, and the autumn winds were heavy, as were the colors of the leaves changing around them. Misha and his wife welcomed their child, Misha Jakub, named after his father and uncle on his mother's side, an hour later.
The Prinz family lived in Dessau, on a large estate expanding about one-hundred acres of land. Their home was considered a mansion, and they were rather rich. Misha was a business man and worked in the German Ministry of Magic. Johanna didn't work, and Misha wouldn't let her, not that she complained. Instead, she made her house elves cook, clean, and tend to her every need, while she sat on the sofa reading the newspaper. She also threw parties for all her ladies in the neighborhood, and actually had a book club, though they hardly discussed the book.
As a toddler, Jakub, as he went by growing up, would always curl up to his mother on the sofa, looking at the paper with her. He was always fascinated with the sports section, watching tiny men and women on broomsticks hurl balls at each other, while others hit faster, smaller balls with bats. He later learned that this was the sport called quidditch. His father had to end up taking him to multiple games as he grew up, or else he'd throw temper tantrums.
When he didn't look at the paper, Jakub was allowed to play in their neighborhood with other children. They lived in a wizarding community, mostly inhabited by pureblooded families. Those families that weren't, well, were looked down upon. Jakub often harassed the children who weren't pureblood, and it never got him into trouble. His parents often rewarded him for "putting them in their place," as they told him.
Jakub grew up wanting to be a quidditch player. For weeks as a child, he would keep doing athletic activities to keep his health regulated and his body in check. Eventually, it would all pay off when he was an adult, playing for a professional team. He even organized a little league quidditch for children in his neighborhood. That way, he could practice to become what he had dreamed of, though they didn't use real brooms, as they were too young, so they did it by foot.
After he had turned eleven, Durmstrang Institute had sent him a letter that he was to be accepted into their wizarding school. His parents were quick to respond, taking him to purchase books, his wand, and all that stuff a child wizard should have once they start school. He was then put on a boat with other wizarding children, and shipped away to the institute in the north.
Being a mostly dark school, Jakub could fit himself in. His family was, afterall, purists who despised even the halfbloods. He made friends easily, and worked his way up to becoming a bit of a leader in his class. He was always seen with a counterpart, a sort of Watson to his Holmes. He was his best friend, and usually did anything he asked, as he tended to look up to him. Eventually, Misha felt sorry for him and stopped asking him to do things for him, and instead just treated him as his friend.
He met a lovely lady named Ema. She was from Croatia, another Eastern European country. They became very close as Durmstrang, often seen with each other when he wasn't with his other friends. Throughout his experience at Durmstrang, Ema and he were an item. They remained a couple until his last year, when he chose his professional life over a relationship. They do not talk anymore, though Jakub does not regret ending it. She was his first love, and they did a lot together. He would never forget her.
It was at Durmstrang where Jakub got to really play quidditch. His main rival at Durmstrang was Viktor Krum, who was the same year as him. They often ended up in bruises over how violently they played with each other. Eventually, they became friends towards the end of their schooling, when they went to Hogwarts to the Triwizard Tournament. It was Viktor who was chosen from Durmstrang, but Jakub didn't mind cheering him on.
After that year, he graduated Durmstrang, and started going by Misha. He decided to go back to Germany. He was signed to the Heidelberg Harriers, the national team of Germany. His position was keeper, and he became nationally known after saving all the goals in a pivotal game between his team and Krum's team of Bulgaria. It was Krum's team that one, though, due to his amplified seeker skills. But Misha did an amazing job as the keeper.
He continued to play for the Harriers for ten years, watching them win and lose through the years. Their coach ended up catching an early bludger to the head during a practice, and was officially retired after that. His team and officials decided to search for a new coach, and he ended up taking that position. He lead the Harriers to many wins through his years coaching, though those were only two short years.
The Montrose Magpies lost their coach two years after he started coaching the Harriers. It was then that one of his friends from Durmstrang, who had gone on to work in the British Ministry, nominated him for the job, and he actually got it. He considered his options, and decided a change of scenery and a chance to coach a brand new team would be a better path for him. Two years later, he now resides over the Magpies as their coach. Hopefully, their upcoming season will be victorious, as he already has two well-known players, Lynch and Pennyapple.
What is your occupation? How do you go about it?
How did you get your current occupation?
How does your past and abilities justify your current skills?: Misha is currently the coach for the Montrose Magpies, a quidditch team located in Britain. He takes his leaderships skills and puts them to good use as he makes sure all his players work hard, do what they're told, and try to win games. He keeps his team in line, and actually has some pretty famous players, including Edward Lynch. Making sure they all stay in line, if they do anything justifying consequences, he immediately benches them and brings in a reserve player.
Misha received his position as coach through the Department of Magical Games and Sports. He used to play for an Eastern European quidditch team as their keeper, and was recognized nationally for his ability to save goals. Eventually, he came to coach the team he played for, which lasted about two years. A friend who worked in the British Ministry found an opening for the coaching position for the Magpies and giving it considerable thought, and working on his English, Misha decided to take the job as the Magpies coach. He has been coaching them for two years now, and intends to stay put.
Being a previous quidditch star and coach, he knows what he's doing. He knows how to keep a level head and not get in too deep to where he can't pull everything back. Also, his past in leadership has helped him work in his means of coaching, so he also has the advantage in that department.
Writing Sample:Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects
of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.Rain poured down on the pitch. The team wasn't exactly happy with him, but he wanted to continue their practice. They needed their next win, and Misha wasn't about to lose to the Falcons. That team was known for their bad behavior and Misha wanted his team to play fair, and if practicing in the rain was how he went about it, then so be it.
He stood there, arms crossed, water pouring over his face and soaking his clothing. As one chaser through the quaffle to another, he watched every motion that happened. His beaters weren't needed for this practice, as he wanted to keep their arms rested and prepared. He knew they were happy with him, and would definitely appreciate him. But as for the chasers, seeker, and keeper, well, they weren't too thrilled.
"You haf to be prepared for all ze circumdances!" He shouted at them. "Zis rain is nozing!" He did coach like a beast, but it was only to keep his team in line. He made sure of it that they would be winning. Even if they developed some sort of cold due to the weather, he could just use some sort of potion or spell to rid them of it. He was, afterall, a more experienced wizard. Suddenly the quaffle came down towards him. He pull his wand out and cast a spell on it, making it drop to the ground.
His eyes gazed around. "Thomas! You are benched!" The player who had thrown the quaffle violently flew down the pitch and into the locker rooms. His coaching wasn't to be taken lightly, and if his players couldn't handle the rain, then they could just fly away. He had plenty in reserves.
Sum up your character in one paragraph: Misha is overall a natural born leader. Though raised to hate muggleborns, he tries to put that aside and treat everyone the same, especially on the pitch. Considering he is in the public eye, he keeps cool and poised often, and is rarely seen doing things he shouldn't be. His overall nature is calm, but don't put him in a closed space, or he won't be the same man.
