[March 8th] Sparring A Glance (Snapshot)

Swing to the right, clumsy, slow, easily dodged. Next came a straight kick, it was done thoughtlessly, they weren't even thinking about what they were doing, just attempting to land any type of hit, desperation was always a good motivation but it would not work here, it was sloppy. A simple step back led to avoiding the kick, leaving them unbalanced, open for attack, swiftly, a spin on the tip of the left foot, right foot retracted, as the spin neared completion the leg kicked out. Collision, side of the head, the spin was unneeded but lent momentum, punishment for the mistake of unbalance. They flew to the ground in a pile.

"Auror standards truly dropped." Tara sighed as she looked upon the heaped form of the girl infront of her, nothing professional about her, tattoo of a chain around their neck, a blue butterfly flying around. Not to mention the tongue and ear piercings. Then the grey hair and eyes, were they trying to stand out? If anything it made the girl more bland that she went by the name of her hair colour.

"Get up, we go again." She wasn't in the mood to explain the mistakes to her, this was the fourth match today, if anything she'd gotten worse as time went on. The girl grunted and rubbed at their newly bruised cheek.

"No." The girl said, she sounded personally wounded. "How about magic this time?" She asked.

Tara didn't respond directly, instead she pulled her wand and swirled it, changing the room from the plain sparring ring they were in to a small outdoor area, grass at their feet a few trees around. More like a public park then anything. It would do, see how the girl manages. Though based on her previous record she doubted this would last long.

And she was right, the first round went quickly, so did the second. Tara striking her down quickly before she managed to take cover. She wasn't going to play it easy for the girl, she was meant the Auror here, not the lowly Hit-Witch.

"You're not in the state of mind to go again." Tara said bluntly to the girl. Who in reply just spat onto the ground as she recovered. "One last time." This time she had a smirk on her, overconfident. She was going to go down harder this time.

Tara merely nodded and took a few steps back.

As soon as the signal to start went, Tara swept her wand up, with a short arcing motion created by flicking her wrist she muttered her incantation. "Elecar Thundus." A stream of electricity flew from her wand, striking the girl who fell to the ground screaming in pain as the lightning wracked her body and caused her to spasm. Was it fair to use this? No, she just didn't want to let the girls hopes get up.

Still she hadn't yielded however, Tara walked closer to push her over with her foot as the spell stopped. "Give up." She commanded, then with a crack the girl disappeared, almost immediately she felt the wand fly from her hand as she had apparated behind her. It was a decent play, she'd admit it, but foolish.

"How about you?" She panted as she glared daggers into Tara.

Turning slowly Tara just stared back, the girl was approaching, ruining her advantage of distance. Tara waved her hand at the ground and muttered under her breath, causing the ground to rebel and shoot up beneath the girl, hitting her in the face and sending her sprawling onto her ass again.

"Remember that wandless magic exists. We're done for the day." Tara said bluntly as she walked to her wand, retrieving it in one fell swoop, then walked to the door.

The Aurors really were doomed if she was a year in.
