Calling all old and new AO members! For our 12th anniversary, we've set up a fun, optional awards survey we call The Owlies!

In this survey, we've listed superlatives for different categories of AO characters: kids/teenagers, adults, NPC's, and inactive/retired. We've also got categories for threads, plots, and writers as well! Come vote on which character is most in need of a happy plot and which untrue rumor is your favorite.

We'll share the results once the votes are in! Select the code below and submit it via personal message to the Absit Omen RPG account. 

A few things to keep in mind...

• Voting is out-of-character
• ...but if your characters are talking to you, go ahead and include a few quotes from their perspective
• Your answers can span all twelve years that Absit Omen has been active. Check out the Cast of Characters, Wiki, and Tags for help finding characters, plots, and threads.
• Fill in as many answers as you like for each question
• Add your own formatting and decoration, if you like!
• Feel free to leave some fields blank if you're stuck
• Did we miss an amazing opportunity to add a superlative or category or whatever? Probably! We added a blank field at the end of the survey for any extra awards you'd like to give
• When we present the results, we'll focus on nominations first and foremost. It'll be less about who or what got the most votes, and more about who or what got nominated and why. Count on silliness.

One strategy a few of us are using is to save out the form in a safe place and work on nominations bit by bit.

Just making a note of what we said on Discord: there is no due date as of yet! We'll check in around the end of February and see how many surveys we've received. At that point, we'll likely land on a firmer date.

I've found the Major Events Timeline on the wiki to be helpful. It hasn't been updated since the Dementor attacks (sorry!) but for older threads that had a lot of impact, it may help to scroll through.

Hey folks! It's towards the end of February, and we've only gotten a few surveys in from our own curator team .

We would love to hear from members, but we realize that the form we made is very, very long! This is just a gentle reminder that if you'd like to participate, you do not need to fill out the whole thing. It might be best to set a goal for yourself, and say you'll do two (or insert other reasonable number here) from each category, then turn it in. That might be one way to help with the sheer size of it! In our excitement, we made lots and lots of questions. Thankfully, they don't need to all be answered.
