Hello everyone!

I thought others might be interested in an action-packed thread.  Here's what I'm thinking.


Currently Runespoor eggs are being smuggled into Britain.  The Department of International Cooperation, the Auror Office and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures are coordinating to find and spot the smuggling.

But eggs. Hatch. And engorgement charms are common place. And Runespoors are dangerous and scary and awesome.

A Runespoor in Diagon Ally!

Maybe sometime soon a Runespoor could break the peace and tranquility of back-to-school shoppers, Daily Prophet reporters and others!  Aurors and Creature Control personel would have a big part to play.  So would healers and any one else who'd have business being in London that day.


I will be happy to start the thread.  The Runespoors (of which there could be a few) would be NPC'd by anyone.  Just make post concerning the Runespoors in orange or something.

Is anyone else interested? Not formal sign-ups, I'm just hoping I wouldn't have Niobe alone on the street running about solo.

It could bust up your Quidditch Fan Day.  

I could see Cin watching in amusement.  I know Tulojow would be secretly thrilled to have this be an opportunity to play both Auror and COMC/Gamekeeper.  She'd secretly hope that, since it involves creatures, Taynor would be encouraged to accept her help.  Given her history here so far, it seems Mai'd almost be garaunteed to get bitten.

Trouble? Danger? Dree'd be there if he heard about it.

And Colette probably would be there and, knowing her, would mostly be pissed -- it's all terribly inconvenient to her, dangerous to others, and just shoddy execution on the parts of the smugglers. Just all-around disappointing, frankly.

Raynor, without question, would respond, and bring a hoard of NPC Aurors  and Hitwizards with her. We need more of those, if anyone has been thinking about it. 

Haha, it would be a nice and humbling experiance for Tam if she had to ask Tulo for assistance. That would be absolutely awesome.

I'd love to be in on this, providing it's not too late and Deen has been reinstated as an Auror by the time the incident has started (she's been on long-term leave for the past couple of years and I don't want to godmode how quickly the MLE takes her back).

There is still be time. And, even better, if you want we can have a thread between Tam and Aberdeen about her coming back to the force and date it the First of June, which should give you pleanty of clearance, if that would make you feel more comfortable.

Its really exciting to have you back! I think back on HM Tam and Aberdeen weren't too far off on rank. Tam was just out of training and Aberdeen still had a year or so?

There will be two Runespoors loose.  To keep track of which one is doing what, why don't we call them ¹ and ².

The Runespoors will be like... 7 feet long with three nasty heads.  One will originate straight out of Knockturn Ally, the other can enter in whatever way anyone would like.


All writers can control the Runespoors! Just be sure to read carefully.

I'm going to have Niobe on the scene, hopefully with my intern Zoey in tow!  I'm willing to have Niobe injured, especially if I've got a healer to patch me up.

We can have some of Covadonga's people of course as well as Tamis's people!  Any and all healers.


What makes this work is that most anyone can have an excuse to be in Diagon during the summer.  So just jump in.

We'll get a thread started as soon as the timeline switches over.  Let's plan to actually have it occur late in that timeline so it won't necessarily interrupt anything.

I'm also thinking that Zoey, the potions freak he is, could maybe steal an egg or two. It could be a scandal!

Maybe! Keep in mind that these smugglers have been going to Azkaban!

How about this: Covi and the gang are doing house-checks of one of the buildings which has already been raided in Knockturn, happen upon a BIIIIG Runespoor (one of the bebehs they missed and grew quite nicely without all the crowding) and in order to wrangle it, one gets close to it until it goes into the preliminary stages of "pounce mode"--haven't thought of who yet--and then runs for it?  The other two will give chase, like a bait and switch kinda thing.

Of course, the snake will be much faster than expected and the "bait" will burst through the doors and start running down the Alley with snakey and the two others in tow.

Mebeh the runespoor catches sight of you two and tries to attack?

SHENANIGANS ENSUE!
