Re: [March 9th] After-Moon Siesta (Emma Prince) Reply #30 on April 26, 2021, 03:41:00 PM Lucinda had a rather good sleep during the time she was left alone, having removed some clothing so she could sleep under the covers after figuring she was going to be sleeping there for the longhaul, especially with whatever was going on with the potion, she doubted she would be allowed to leave at all due to it, however even if she was sort of a guest in this little ward didn't mean she put her clothes neatly on the floor. She blinked awake slowly as she smelt...meat enter the room, she groaned slowly as she rubbed her eyes to get up, she wasn't sure what time it was, based on the food, she guessed it was dinner time, or maybe it was morning and she just hadn't noticed as of yet."Uh...hey what time is it?" She asked as she looked towards the woman, seeing the plate full of random food bits, she supposed it made sense, she never gave a meal order really did she?"Do you want me to put a shirt on or are you fine with underwear?" She asked slowly as she sat upright, pulling the covers up with her. 'Whatever you're comfortable with,' she answered mildly. 'And it's about six o'clock.I ordered a selection for you as I didn't know what you'd like. And I thought I'd join you, if you don't mind.' The healer picked up the plate with her cottage pie and a fork and took a bite, eyeing Lucinda critically, looking for any further signs of illness.'So, how are you feeling now?' "Um...that's fine, I'm not...fond of meat at all." She said awkwardly while sitting herself up properly to eat, if the covers fell off she wasn't really caring anymore as she looked over the rest of the food on offer, it seemed like a good enough mix certainly. "Thank you, I guess I sort of overslept..." Although it wasn't as if there was anyone in the Great Hall who would really miss her dining with them. She looked over the healer again, she was certainly acting nice, she still wasn't entirely sure if it was professional nice, or actual nice. Her hands moving to take some of the bread and make herself some sort of salad sandwich."I don't mind at all, it is...your infirmary after all." She mulled it over as she took a couple more bites of her cottage pie. 'You didn't oversleep,' she responded. 'I wanted you to get plenty of rest. It'll help me in figuring out what symptoms we need to address if you aren't also tired.'And I'm sorry about the meat. I'll remember in future.' The healer watched Lucinda put together a sandwich, glad to note that she seemed to be making healthy choices, but... 'If you don't eat meat, what do you eat for protein?' Emma made a mental note to look into whether werewolves dietary requirements were different, even while human. She sighed gently as she took a bite of the sandwich and relaxed back into the bed, half amazed she was allowed to eat in the bed itself but she supposed...magic."Eggs." She replied with half a mouth full, swallowing the rest quickly after to clear herself and get through better, plus it was fairly rude and she had been incredibly nice to her, so she should be nice back. "Sorry." She said quickly before clearing rest of her mouth."Breakfast I tend to have scrambled egg, if not then peanut butter on bread, or greek style yoghurt." She was thankful of the House Elves for getting her some, doubtless there were other vegetarians who would have it also, but she was thankful. "Cottage cheese also has good amounts in it, or lentils also. If I snack at all I have some trail mix of pumpkin seeds and almonds with raisins so on."She took another bite, it was something that her parents fussed over alot when she suddenly couldn't stomach meat or refused to have any. "Or if things are really bad, I have a pack of pills in my bedroom." If the only thing she had to worry about was a student talking with her mouth full, it was a good day. 'Sure and that all sounds fairly good,' the healer said lightly, allowing her Irish lilt to become more prominent. 'But I'd like to have a look at those pills,' she added a little more seriously. 'I've a fair bit of knowledge of Muggle medicine with my ma and da having an apothecary with some non-magical customers and remedies. I'm not saying you won't be able to still take them if needed, but I want to ensure there won't be any adverse reactions to my taking care of you.''Is your distaste for meat a dislike or does it cause you some kind of discomfort or physical reaction? And is it something that's started since you became a werewolf, or before?' The healer wasn't sure how it could be connected to Lucinda's current situation, but it wouldn't do to overlook any avenues of investigation. She shrugged as she took in another bite of her oddly made sandwich, although she loved the crunch she got from the lettuce as she bit into it. She took her time to chew on the food as she wondered how best to give an answer to her next question, it wasn't one she'd really had to answer much so what telling was the better one.She swallowed gently and lowered her sandwich as she looked towards the meat brought in that was for her. She didn't really want it to go to waste, perhaps Miss Prince might have it herself after she'd finished the potato and meat pie she had now."My first full moon...after I had transformed...I was still in America, at the end of it they shoved a large side of meat into my cell." She was fairly quiet as she spoke. "When I woke up the next morning, I could still taste it...meat I think was raw...just some cow they had slaughtered then took a cut of, chucked it in for us as if doing a favour...just this big amount of fat bloody meat."She looked away from the plate and back down to her sandwich. "Ever since I've just...the taste of it is sort of foul, and the smell always seems off to me. I don't know how to quite...put it. It could always just be my senses are stronger due to being new still...or in general...or just it changed my tastes. Its just sort of..." She shrugged, not really sure how to put the rest of it. "Nauseating?" She didn't want the girl to in any way think Emma was disgusted by her. She did compress her lips in disapproval of the way Lucinda had been treated.'No meat for you, then,' she said firmly. 'I'm going to do a bit of research into werewolves. I know a bit more than the average person, but it wasn't a subject I delved into a great deal in my training. As I've got two now, well three, under my purview, I think I'd best learn everything I can to make sure you all are getting the appropriate nutrition and care.Meantime, I'm going to have some of this trifle,' Emma said, exchanging the last few bites of her cottage pie for a dish of the dessert. 'And you can head back to your common room whenever you're ready or spend the night here, if you like. I'll be around either way if you get to feeling poorly again.' So...I'm open for questions I guess?" She wasn't sounding too sure about it but she was fairly confident she could be used...somewhat reliably even if she didn't know much about werewolves herself, she still half refused to read a book on basic stuff about her species. It seemed like this was the end of it though, although it was nice to have a proper sleep outside of her room, she supposed it would be better to go back to her own, especially as the Infirmary is...well its a hospital really."I'll go back to my own room, I need a change of clothes anyway." She said gently as she slipped out of the sheets, soon going to her pile of clothes and putting them on slowly, it was nice atleast that the healer seemed so concerned for her."Thank you." She said gently, a weak smile on her. "That was probably the best sleep I've had...in awhile. And thank you for getting me dinner." She gave a soft bow to her before starting to make her way out...~Fin Skip to next post
