CharmsN.E.W.T.Thursday, March 22nd @ 8:00AM
The clouds outside were finally breaking up, and the morning sun lit up the Charms classroom with a warm and welcoming glow. On a side table behind the desk a gramophone was playing an
upbeat jazz tune, and a gilded serving trolley stood in the middle of the room, filled with crystal wine glasses of different sizes and shapes. And in front of the desk stood Professor Wandsworth, rocking back and forth on her heels, and humming along to the music.
She glanced at the little clock above the door, slowly making its way to eight o clock. She was excited, as this would be her first proper lesson as Charms Master at Hogwarts, and she was determined to put her best foot forward. She
had been at the school since Monday
[1], but had insisted that she first must settle in before she could start teaching. After all, a Professor needed their right environment to be able to teach. Or so she assumed.
And then the first two students arrived — two Gryffindor girls laughing amongst each other before they saw the Professor, stopping abruptly. The Professor waved at them, as more students started filing into the classroom.
“Please, everyone,” Professor Wandsworth said, gesturing towards the serving trolley. “Take a glass before you sit down.”
As the classroom filled up, and the students, one by one, grabbed a glass and sat down, the Professor could feel a tingly feeling in her stomach. This was it! When the last student had sat down she spread open her arms in greeting.
“Welcome, sixth years,” she said in a sing-song tune. “Welcome to Charms! My name is Professor Wandsworth, and I will be your new teacher. I hope you’ll have as much fun as I will, and I thought I would start us off with something fun!”
She turned around and leaned over the table, fishing a bottle of vinegar out from behind. She held it up for everyone to see, before pouring the pale yellowish liquid into a glass. With a smooth movement she protruded her wand from somewhere beneath her knitted layers, and gave it an elegant swish over the glass, and said clearly: “
Fiovino!”
The liquid in the glass started spinning, and slowly but surely turned from its previous colour to a deep crimson. She held it up for the class to see, before putting it to the lips and gulping it down.
“Today we’ll be turning
vinegar into wine,” she said, grinning, as she put the glass down on her desk. “You’ll all soon be of age, if some of you aren’t already, so I thought it to be ample opportunity to teach you this
very important spell.”
She waved her wand again, and from behind the desk five more bottles of vinegar floated up in the air and started moving around the room, filling the students glasses. As they did, Professor Wandsworth spoke again.
“Before we go into the specifics, who would like to give it a shot?”

Assume your student is on time. If you want them to be late, send a PM and we can work around it. Also my first time doing a lesson, so please tell me if I’m doing anything wrong.
