In spite of his words of support, Zeta responded ambivalently. Sylvain smiled to himself - because he remembered being her age and holding arguments or fights that took place in one's imagination. It was easy to imagine the world against you, to be wary of it. Sometimes things felt that way even as an adult. Certainly for some adults more than others.

“...more interesting to go to the protest?" Jorkins was saying to the fourth year. "It seems really interesting.”

"You could get a butterbeer and attend Miss Pepper's protest," the professor remarked mildly, with a dry smile. "Unless it is not the butterbear Miss Bythesea wishes to enjoy for the whole afternoon..." he added with a seemingly innocent glance at the pair.

Sylvain knew, from his experience of Valentine's in Hogwarts, that the students could contrive many methods to play away from snooping eyes. "To be young again, eh?" he laughed. "When I was un jeune homme we would claim to play card games in private. Black Jack? C'était parfait."

He reached into his pocket for one of two small wooden figurines he'd taken from his office.

"Grimwold," the Frenchman threw the miniature bear at the boy. "I take one of the young Spectres down to the forest later, if you want to join. We examine trees and whittle. Before lunch, oui? Dress warmly if you come. Mademoiselles," he bowed his head at the witches before turning to leave.

"But wouldn’t it be more interesting to go to the protest?"

"Hhm, I suppose so, be fun to see how it goes." She said in a fake ditzy tone, as if she hasn't really thought of it at all. As if the thought never entered her mind at all, although of course it had, she just wanted to annoy Zeta, she had started a war with her, she couldn't care less about the dumb little protest really, what was it even about? Stupid pranks from Zonkos? That's all Zonkos was, dumb pranks, who cares? There were better things to angry other then for others who as far as she had heard, weren't even caring about it.

"Unless it is not the butterbear Miss Bythesea wishes to enjoy for the whole afternoon..."

What type of comment was that? What is he even trying to imply with a comment like that? Just simple dating sort of thing, or is he trying to imply something further about her later on? She wasn't going to do something like that, why would she? She did her best to hide any sort of disgust at the comment and looked away. Waiting for him to leave as he walked off, he likely meant it to be innocent but just...ew. Even if it was meant to imply his company, she doubted she could get much, he'd just be tripping head over heels at her for no reason other then boys are predictable and easily fall to any girl, let alone one with a permanent charm.

"We could do both though." She said to Grimwold, putting on her fake sappy lovey dovey appearance as she went to hug into him. Like a girl melting over meeting their favourite boy band star. "We can go for a bit to the little club event then off to get some drinks?" She asked as she slid a hand behind her back to raise two fingers back to Zeta again.
