[Feb 19th] Glass Balls aren't for Wolves [Isobel Stuart] on April 30, 2020, 07:48:48 PM Lucinda was bored, and tired. Both came to her naturally now, she slept poorly every night so she was always tired, and she was sick of this school, she's been stuck on the grounds since returning, aside from Hogsmeade, but that was a slight reprieve, she still had to return at the end of the day. So she was still stuck, she wanted to explore the grounds more but she was running out of places aside from the Forest, and with how overprotective the Headmaster was, likely the groundskeeper had been bribed to keep an eye out for her when she was close to the forest to grab her as soon as she even approached a tree.So she was wandering the corridors, there must be secrets still in the castle she didn't know about, she obviously knew of the Room of Requirements, she knew a couple of shortcut routes, it was impossible not to know of a few in the castle really. She hadn't encountered Peeves and she didn't hear banging nearby so she was sure she wouldn't be attacked by the poltergeist. What even was on the seventh floors, there were several, were any really that interesting? She guessed it was her job to figure it out, if there isn't anything then she can always check out the girls room on the 5th floor for Puffskeins. So there may be something good that happens today, although if there are puffskeins there then there will be other girls, and she's trying to avoid gossip things, especially after the rumours of her and Zeta are going about now.Well, the rumours were correct but she still doesn't want them. This had distracted her however, and now she was wandering around the top floors without paying any attention to her goal of finding new secrets or routes. And in that her ability to even notice things infront of her as she found herself bumping into a figure infront of her... Merlin above, had she been as bad when she was a teenager? Probably, if she was entirely honest with herself; those days seemed a long way off now, though there was no denying that even then, she had hardly been the most sociable type. Her options had been rather more limited, of course; she had had no tower to which she could escape and so she had had to take at least some part in the inane chatter which seemed to characterise student life- it was either that or spend her entire Hogwarts career sitting in empty classrooms by herself, and antisocial or not, that had never seemed an appealing option to the Scot.Just now, she was very much appreciating the value of her secluded classroom as she did her best to weave between the crowds; laughing Gryffindor boys heading one way met giggling Ravenclaw girls going the other, both stopped to admire the view, and there you had it. Complete chaos, carnage, and gridlock. Haven't you got classes to get to? was a phrase which Isobel was growing more and more tired of repeating, but it was at least the easiest method of straightening things out. Of course, they had all been well aware of their educational commitments prior to the question, which was largely rhetorical, but for some strange reason, actually being asked seemed to motivate them to get there on time. The minds of teenagers were strange things. It was the lack of concentration that was her undoing; her mind lingering on the past, as it was so often wont to do, she neglected to pay the slightest attention to the present, and so she really only had herself to blame when she found herself coming violently into contact with a Gryffindor girl, the stack of parchment under her arm sliding to the floor. She wasn't in the mood to be in the wrong right now, she was too tired. Besides people tend to give her a wide berth anyway so why would they not do so unless they were friendly with her or wanted to start something!"Hey watch where you're going you idiot." She growled before looking at who she knocked into, it was some sort of hag, that she knew, a better look over. Oh its the Divination teacher, so a scam artist teaching more scams, great. She was not going to back down though. "Didn't your crystal ball tell you that was going to happen?" She added in another growl. She was not backing down, she was digging her hole and making it as comfy as possible, maybe to get a couch inside her hole, she hasn't heard much of what she's liked, she didn't know many who took Divination other then Zeta took it and it was late at night usually. She didn't take it herself, why would she, it was a con. She had good proof that it was a con also. Even if it wasn't, why would she ever care to take it anyway, whats the point of knowing if you're going to burn your toast in a few hours or not, especially when often its set to happen anyway, it would just be depressing to know whats going to happen. To be perfectly frank, she would never, even on her worst days, have dreamed of addressing a teacher in such a fashion, and that was saying something considering that even she herself was quite happy to admit that she had been something of a problem student when she had been at Hogwarts. But there were some lines which one did not cross; the faculty at Hogwarts were all highly intelligent, as she had recognised even then, and to apply an inappropriate insult simply made you look even more of a fool than the person that you were insulting."I might apply the same comment to you," she pointed out, taking her wand from her pocket and flicking it towards the stack of parchment on the floor, which neatly shuffled itself back into a tidy pile and rose steadily into the air to hover in front of her, a position from which she could easily reclaim it. "Might I enquire just what you believe yourself to be doing, racing around the corridors like a house elf with a flaming tea towel wrapped around your waist? I can assure you that there are very few less intelligent things which you could be doing in these circumstances. Juggling first years might possibly qualify, but only barely." After all, people walked around carrying all sorts of weird and wonderful things in this castle, and being hit by some of them could have distinctly unpleasant consequences. "Perhaps you would care to apologise?" Skip to next post Re: [Feb 19th] Glass Balls aren't for Wolves [Isobel Stuart] Reply #4 on May 17, 2020, 07:54:49 PM “Why would I apologize? I was walking normally you’re the one who should of foreseen it. Or did the tea leaves just tell you to go to hell?” Lucinda was..not in a great mood now, she was already lost in thought and now she had hit into somewhere, she couldn’t really back down from this and frankly she didn’t want to. She was the mystical seer who could see the future ooooh spooky. She didn’t get why hogwarts taught people to sit in a tent at a circus and make false predictions.Frankly put, she wasn’t a real teacher, she didn’t teach a real subject, and Lucinda was not backing down. Regardless of how much detention she got, what is she going to do? Make her wash the mugs after each class? She would just flat out not show up in the first place, she has better places to be then staring at marbles. She’s been to a marble factory before, she’s owned a few, why would staring into an oversized one give you power over someone else. The woman somewhat resembled to her like a female version of Professor Storm, give or take a few years. Both to her seemed around a hundred. Was this his wife? “I’m not running around the school, I’m wandering, learn the difference before you make yourself look even more stupid then your scam already is.”She collected herself quickly, making sure her clothing was on right and her wand was on her, this had not been a great month for her already. This was not helping it but atleast she was getting a way to release her aggression rather then punching that blond girl. Skip to next post
