[March 17th]Can I Trust Him?[Johann]

on April 10, 2020, 11:16:03 AM

Liam sat back down and finished drinking his coffee while thinking about what Malfoy was proposing. He didn't really know a lot about him, other than what he'd heard from gossips around Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.

He went to his desk and wrote out a quick letter to Johann Storm, really the only person he knew to ask about someone's reputation.

Although, unlike the last time he sent a letter, this time he made sure the address was legible..

Hello Joh,

I recently got offered a business propostiion by someone that I have only heard bad things about.

Is there any way you could let me know if I can trust him or not?

The proposition would be very interesting to say the least and I think it might bring more people into my shop.

The person is Draco Malfoy. Let me know anything you can.

Liam

Liam sent the letter off with his eagle owl and then went downstairs to open the shop.

Liam,

Quick one - balls-deep in wedding planning and the like, as you know.

Malfoy - start with any good history of the second war, as you know.

Recent history has been a little different.

What's he proposing?

Johann,

He wants to sell potions in my shop.  I think it might bring more customers in but I told him, I'd think about it first.

I did find some stuff on the war as you suggested, but all that I've read was either extremely prejudiced about his family or made him sound like a kid trying to save his family.

I don't know still.

Liam

Liam,

Malfoy's practically a recluse these days. Divorced the wife, rarely seen in public. Met him once maybe a year ago, seemed like he carried the weight on his shoulders and wanted to vanish into the shadows. Verging on antisocial, but I do recognise a man invested in his craft. Think he had a hand in the development at St Mungo's after the supply contamination debacle.

Strange to approach you rather than an apothecary. I wouldn't trust a letter (ironic given I write that in one). Arrange a meet. If you need me to look over any contract, send it to me at Level 5 during the working week. It's honestly quieter there than it is in Edinburgh with this wedding to plan. Well, you'll see when you attend!

If he gives you any samples, you can try Lix Mordent and Arc Hollingbury - 277B Diagon Alley to know if they're any good. Lix is bought with good alcohol, and Hollingbury coverts niche books on potions and charms.

Yours,
