PROPERTY OF
DMLE
WEREWOLF CAPTURE UNIT
DEPARTMENT FOR THE REGULATION AND CONTROL OF MAGICAL CREATURES

filed as a cold case in 2003

Name: Anthony Theodore Layton
Age: 47 years old

General Notes:

- Youngest son of a poor muggleborn family, only one to have married.

- Interviews with neighbours exhibit solitary widower lifestyle. Older neighbours report violent behaviour to late wife and son. Generally unpleasant temperament.

- Survey of house yielded potions stock of aconite and other ingredients for Wolfsbane. Quality of discovered potion is weak.

- Discovered dead on his knees and hands tied behind his back, with use of TENACIOUS TWINE. Eyeballs had been removed.

Healer's Notes:

- Subject suffered from silver burns in the palms of his hands. Burns cover entire palm, possibly from a flat surface. Sustained in werewolf form.

- Subject suffered from silver burns on the back. Lashed, likely with a chain. Sustained in werewolf form. WCU ADDENDUM: silver chain, pattern fits cat o nine tails

- Subject discovered sans eyeballs. Removal sustained in human form.

- Subject suffered broken bones, fractured and healed multiple times over a short period of time. Sustained in werewolf and human form.

- Cause of death: rib bone puncturing left ventricle and aortic valve of the heart. Sustained in human form.

Notes from DMLE:

- Initial suspect was only child Jebediah Layton (26), initially suspected to be living abroad (South America). Reported himself to level two after reading news of his father's death to correct the record. Generally mild temperament, appeared to be genuinely shocked.

- Alibi holds. Seen by multiple witnesses at the Royal Opera House on evenings of the 26th, 27th (Full Moon), 28th, 29th. In employ of a Russian patron of the arts.

[several notes and pages appear to have been irretrievably damaged or gone missing, particularly transcripts of interviews with Jebediah Layton; there is a single family photograph of Anthony Layton, however, with his wife and teenage son circa 1990]
