    Physical Description:
Greer is short and slight for her age, with a head of dark brown curls she keeps cut just above her shoulders. Since her parent's arrest, she hadn't paid much attention to her appearance and wears the clothes she's had for a few years, which are mostly muggle in style and not very stylish.

She looks younger than she is and a part of her is trying to hold on to that, in mannerisms, appearance, and attitude. She misses the days when her life was simpler.

Her face is often set in a moody or Resting Moody expression due to her dark and expressive eyebrows. Otherwise, her smile is bright and her laugh loud.

She has scars on her calf from where a werewolf clawed her. In her muggle hometown, she wore leggings and longer trousers to cover it up.

    Personality Description:
Greer is independent and used to going off and doing her own thing. While living at home, she only had her parents to answer to, and they gave her a lot of freedom in setting her schedule and letting her explore her town and the woods nearby. They knew everyone who lived there and trusted Greer to keep her distance from tourists and strangers. After becoming a werewolf, it took time for Greer to adjust to feeling like she was under lock and key.

Her way of speaking is direct, and she always has a cheeky comment or two just waiting to be said. While she's not often incredibly disrespectful, she's been through a lot and she has a hard time trusting those who aren't her family.

She gets very attached to the few she does trust. She forms stronger attachments than most teenagers and may seek approval from them and overlook any faults.

    History:
Greer was born in 1998 in Aberfoyle, a town on the edge of the Trossachs park. In the summer it's a hot spot for tourists and hikers, and Greer grew up helping her parents in the local Visitor's Centre which the family ran. Her brother, Hamish, is a few years younger than her, and was often at her side wherever she went, walking the trails with her and meeting up with the muggle kids in town.

Her father, Iain, used to work at the Ministry on Level Three as an Obliviator. A few years before Greer was born, her father was driven out of the Ministry. He believed Dumbledore and those who said that Voldemort had returned in 1995. He did not appreciate the way the Ministry was covering things up, and spoke out loudly. He quit when he started receiving threats against his muggle family.

Greer's mother, Annabel, also worked at the Ministry, but on Level Six as a floo network regulator. She spent most of her career away from the office, setting up floo connections and solving problems that arose, but around 1995 she was asked to assist with monitoring floo conversations. Annabel was uncomfortable with the way this was headed, especially considering Umbridge's involvement at Hogwarts. When her husband Iain left the Ministry, Annabel followed, wanting no more to do with a system she no longer believed in.

Struggling to find new jobs, Greer's parents moved in with Iain's parents for a few years. Unfortunately, this would end in tragedy.

In the winter of 1997, when Annabel was pregnant with Greer, Snatchers came to their muggle neighborhood and tried to round up the Grants. Annabel and Iain both escaped, but Iain's parents were killed in the struggle.

Iain has always believed that someone from the Ministry sold him out.

After the murder of Iain's parents, Annabel reached out to her muggle family in Glasgow. They grudgingly helped her find work in Aberfoyle up north. Annabel's relationship with her parents had always been very strained. Though she was their only daughter, they never accepted her magical abilities and encouraged her to settle down and live like a muggle.

Eventually, Iain and Annabel took on the responsibility of the Visitor's Center after the old couple who ran it retired. They found contentment. Greer had a very happy childhood. Her parents raised her to understand that though she and Hamish were different from the muggles, they were not better. They were responsible for keeping their abilities secret. Her parents rarely ever exposed her to wizarding towns and events, and they debated for a while over sending her to Hogwarts.

First year, 2009: Greer liked Gryffindor, though she felt like an oddity at Hogwarts, around so many other magical kids who seemed more cultured and aware than she was. She spent a lot of time outside, the Scotland scenery both familiar and new. It felt like a world ready to be explored. She told her parents that she didn't like Hogwarts to make them feel better, but she liked it much better than primary school.

When Greer went back home for winter break, she felt restless, ready to explore there too. Surely she hadn't discovered everything about her small town and the woods around it.

December 31st, 2009: Greer was out on the full moon one night, in the evening just as it got dark. She was playing on the shore of the lake, ignoring the time. In the winter, many of the houses on the lake sat dark and unoccupied. When a growl sounded in the air, Greer ran, and the werewolf gave chase.

She scrambled up to a tree house nearby that someone had built for the kids a few years ago. The rope was icy, and it took her a second too long. The wolf slashed at her lower leg, and grazed her with its teeth as she was climbing up.

As Greer huddled in the treehouse, the wolf howled, prowling the shore. Hours later, when the wolf had left, a local heard her screaming and found her bleeding out. He took her to a muggle hospital and notified her parents.

Her father later returned to the neighbor's house and obliviated his memory, so no one would know exactly how Greer had been harmed.

The family was in a state of numb shock. They informed Hogwarts that they had a family emergency and Greer needed to stay home. The next full moon, they kept her in the cellar of their house, hoping it would not happen, that she hadn't been infected. She transformed, and the cellar barely held her. In the morning, they vowed to find a better solution. They did not trust the Ministry and wanted her name out of Ministry records.

Over the months, they did their best. They found black market wolfsbane suppliers, and bought batches of varying quality. They made a den for Greer underneath the town's 'fairy tree', hiding her under a layer of charms and illusions. Her parents took the time to teach her magic but it was mostly for practicalities, spells to help herself and stay hidden. Greer asked and asked to go back to Hogwarts. When that failed, she asked to attend muggle school again.

Her parents were considering it in the fall of 2010, when Greer got out of her den for the first time.

2010 - Greer got out for the first time. Her father found her in the woods in the morning, confused and wounded. It felt too similar to the night she'd been attacked by a werewolf, and the dynamic between Greer and her parents started to change. They were both her protectors and jailers. She felt like she was being punished for who she had become.

February 2011 - Greer fled the den underneath her tree and transformed in the woods, disobeying her parents. This time, she attacked a group of teens who were out drinking. They suffered only minor injuries. Her parents told Greer that it wasn't her fault and that they'd do better. They did not suspect until later that she'd left the den on her own.

May 2011 - Greer transformed in the den, but still got out and attacked and killed an elderly man, Louis Harris. She woke with a bad taste in her mouth and blood under her fingernails. Her parents told her as gently as they could, again and again, that it wasn't her fault, but theirs.

July 2011 - Greer got out a fourth time and slashed a teenager. He survived.

July 2011 - WCU and Level Two arrested her parents.

After her parent's arrest, Greer and Hamish lived with their grandparents in Glasgow on their mother's side. They did not fully understand what was wrong with Greer, but they dutifully took her to a safehouse in Scotland every month, and made preparations for Hamish and Greer to attend school.

December 2011 - At Greer's trial, her parents were fined for their negligence and forced to relinquish custody of their children for the next three years. Greer's grandparents resented this outcome and had been expecting the kids to return to their parents. They distrust the wizarding world and feel unequipped to deal with Greer's condition and trauma.

They have not yet formally adopted the children, which has left Greer feeling uncertain and troubled. The last thing she wants is to be separated from her brother or forced to live with strangers when she comes home from Hogwarts.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:
Like most Gryffindors, Greer appreciates when people are straightforward and easy to understand. It bothers her to see others treated badly. She is used to being an older role model of sorts for her brother, and would try to look out for the younger kids.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Greer's world has always been her immediate family. She grew up very close to her parents and her little brother. They raised her around muggles but taught her to keep secrets from the muggles. They showed her magic but kept her mostly separate from the wizarding world. When Greer became a werewolf, she continued to trust her family to protect her and make the right choices for her. When she attacked muggles and they told her they'd do better, she believed them again and again, up until their arrest in July 2011.

Though she understands that her lawyer and the other wixes on her side helped her parents avoid an Azkaban sentence, she still misses her family greatly, and is nervous about her future.
