Beatrix Dark did not return from Christmas break. The word is that she and Bella had a fight, but more daring whispers suggest that Bella killed her twin. She's been cooped up in the Slytherin girls' dorm because she's plotting how to cover it up. Why? "Because she's deranged!"

Demitria Strelnikov disappeared from Hogwarts a few days after the Quidditch game that revealed the true extent of her Veela Charm to the school. It was said, but never confirmed, that she was being kept in a private suite in St. Mungos, and was under scrutiny by her family, school officials, and other interested parties. There was a question of whether she, as a half-breed, should be let back into school seeing as her Charm endangered the students around her.

There was another, less credible, rumor going around that she had been arrested by the Ministry for endangering lives and her criminal relatives had broken her out, and smuggled her to Kiev.

Her return to Hogwarts on the 28th dispelled most of the latter rumor. Most. However, there was no official statement given for why Demitria was taken out of school.

Rumours have been floating around that Raine Almasy, 6th year Gryffindor, is thinking about not returning to Hogwarts for her final year! The witch has been noticeably short of temper since the escape of her sister's murderer and has been cited by an unknown source, saying that she "would much rather conclude [her] education without distraction."

More perceptive peers may note that she has mentioned going away to Europe (and Russia particularly) to study with a relative.

Multiple sources confirm it - Figaro Sellaphix and Zia Piselli are together in some fashion.  Library snogging, according to well-known gossip Kari Strong.

It seems as if Madam Hooch has finally decided to retire.  Again.  Given her past history with the post, it's possible she won't be able to keep away, but only time or Seers will tell...

After September 8th, 2010...

Alvis Norling and Moira McBoid were seen getting awfully close and cozy down by the lake. What, oh what, could they be doing down there all on their lonesome? Can you say, K-I-S-S-I-N-G...?

Rumour has it the Storminator (to most of you, Professor Storm) has a heart and his own personal healer! She can't heal him happy though!

A very uneducated rumor going around among the younger students is that Draco Malfoy, the new Potions Professor, is back to open the Chamber of Secrets and muggleborn students should beware.

At our about 4:30pm on Saturday, Hogsmeade Weekend was suddenly cut short, the 7pm curfew considered null and void in favor of an unexpected and unflinching new mandate: all students are to report to their commonrooms as soon as possible where an accounting would be made. Dawdlers would face stern correction.

This message was delivered in person by such agents as Professor Ravindar Singh and deputized prefects.

Little or no explanation was offered, only that the Deputy Headmaster had ordered it. This is the perfect cauldron for rumors to brew. Some say it was all SAWS's fault, an all-school punishment for their shouting and stinkbombs. Another version of the story is that the dementors were back (Kari Strong claimed to have seen one herself).[1]
