...before?

No, of course she hasn't. What was she thinking? Lucinda shook her head to clear it, then looked towards the campfire. Relaxed in her blanket she rested her hands near it to warm herself up before gazing towards the stars. There were so many, filling the night sky like a toddler who just discovered glitter. The moon...where was it? There were so many stars but no moon filling the sky with its light. With a gentle sigh she enjoyed the fire for a little longer before a deafening scream echoed across the vast emptiness.

Lucinda startled and looked for the source, she saw her mother staring at her, eyes wide and mouth open but no noise came from it, her father standing next to her and aiming his wand at Lucinda. It was only until she started coughing up blood did she realize she was the one who was screaming, the iron tasting liquid flowed out of her mouth as she tried to warn her parents of the large black shape behind them, and then before she knew it all was darkness again.

When the light returned she saw the fire again, she leaned forwards to warm herself after the nightmare but if anything it felt cold, the flames spitting and roaring into the sky but no warmth came out. She looked around for her parents only to see a shape ahead of her. She moved closer and relaxed at the familiar appearance. "Do you know where my parents are?" She asked, arm outstretched to tap the Hufflepuff on the shoulder. Only to be greeted by a look of horror.

She turned to see what she was staring at, but the girl just backed away from her, before she ran. Lucinda gave chase, worried that whatever is there is after her aswell, the girl tripped and Lucinda went to help pick her up, but when she did claws tore into her soft flesh and ripped it apart. Suddenly she realized the smell of blood and looked down, Lucinda was covered in fur matted with blood, her body disfigured and more canine then human now.

"I don't like being lied to!" She heard being shouted, snapping around to look for that Slytherin boy, then she noticed the moon, how had she not noticed it before? It filled the sky with its size, she could see every crater perfectly as the imposing ball of rock loomed over them all. "I had such high hopes for you." The wizened giant of a man said as he appeared from the shadows, she turned to face him, but couldn't make him out from behind a green light slowly finding its way towards her. Was she dreaming? Had she dreamt this...

Her eyes shot open as her body bolted upright in her bed, her hands already grabbing a pillow that she smothered into her face to cover the scream she unleashed so she didn't wake her roommates. Yes, she had this dream before, this nightmare, every night on the week leading to a full moon for the past few months, but never was anyone from Hogwarts in the nightmare.

She didn't want to dream anymore, she used to find solace in sleep, but now she dreads its advance, she is thankful for the nights where she can't sleep, although it left her with her thoughts, she could control her thoughts, she wasn't scared of them as much as she was of when she wasn't in control.

Slowly she placed the pillow back and laid her body to rest again, slowly she curled into a fetal position on her side and pulled the covers over her body. Burying her face into her pillow so the others wouldn't be disturbed by her crying as she thought about everything she had ruined and how she had affected those she knew for the worse since that night those few months ago. Waiting for the sun to rise again.
