Dear Leonidas,

I hope you won't immediately discard this letter seeing as how our last encounter resulted in all that was in your pockets ending up mine. I could be honest and say that you could very wall incinerate this letter in an empty brass dustbin and you'll have missed nothing that would benefit you in the slightest, so read on, I beg, if not for my sake but to bolster the future of a wayward lad.

You'll know from our acquaintance or my reputation that I'm not a wizard who minds his own business and, whenever I can, put to use the things told me in confidence to the gain of some greater good. So you won't be surprised when I tell you that I've identified a young wizard in need of a mentor such as yourself.

He is called Rigel Acrux and he's in his seventh year, and he's having some amount of trouble regarding his school work. I've also been handed an increasing number of notes from his Professors that he's casting about wildly for something and I can't tell what. What I do know is that he's a little smartarse of the finest quality and I think for this reason you'd get along. Like attracts like.

I think if my interference in both your lives can be done expediently, we may yet save a soul. We'll conspire to get permission from his parents and then, why don't you take him out to lunch or some better idea.
