Did I mention I have a dog? They're called Patchless.
Right now Patchless feels lonely. The castle feels much emptier and it is much quieter here.
Its also freezing here and Patchless doesn't like the cold! They can't even go swimming!

Patchless is already feeling bored just sitting around the castle as its too cold to do much outside, running for them starts burning and it isn't pleasant when the cold bites at you.
But Patchless will go to the library, find if there is anything useful there to entertain themselves with.

That's brilliant that they let you bring your dog to Hogwarts for the holiday. Otherwise I bet the boredom would become unbearable. Doldrums, blech. WAIT NEVERMIND. Okay, I get it now. Verrrrry funny.

Things are poppin' here in London. It's too bad you couldn't be in the play. Rehearsals are absolute mayhem and the costumes are going to be incredible. My part is Ghost of Christmas Present which is the role I'd been hoping for. He's hilarious! She, actually, since it's me. Textually supported there are all sorts of Christmas ghosts.

Grants Sentenced in Werewolf Attacks

Iain and Annabel Grant of Aberfoyle, Scotland, have been found guilty. On the 16th of December the Wizengamot convicted the Grants of seven counts of willfully violating Codes of Werewolf Law resulting in the death of a muggle and the injury of two others.

The Grants chose not to submit their daughter (referred to as Jane to protect her privacy) to the Werewolf Registry following her succumbing to the Lycanthropy curse 2009. Instead, the Grants pulled Jane from Hogwarts and attempted to contain her transformations in their cellar. She escaped and was found to have caused the casualties.

The charges were lowered from The Department of  Magical Law Enforcement’s initial indictment of one count of murder, two counts of bodily harm caused to a Muggle (colloquially known as Muggle-baiting). Instead of lengthy sentences in Azkaban, the Grants were ordered to relinquish custody of both of their children and pay restitution.

Solomon Carstairs, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, seemed satisfied with the conclusion.

"The DMLE is pleased to note that Miss Grant's parents will be relieved child custody," he remarked when reached for comment, "and forced to rethink their actions. We believed that this result is in the best interest of public and individual safety."

Jane Grant will be immediately added to the Werewolf Registry and return to Hogwarts in January.

I'm glad to hear you got the role you wanted! I think that the play may be a bit too stressful for me (if I did go for it). and I may end up barking at someone. I know you will do very well in your performance! I'd love to see some outfits afterwards, I bet it will likely take front page in the papers. Try not to let the stardom go to your head!

I did read about the Grant case, I was thinking of having the Headmaster announcing about me as a sort of. It will be awkward and I don't want to but if it happens it will be better. But after this I don't think that will help much, it could help get some light away but same time it could look bad and push more away.
I think if SAWS started again I may go, if nothing else to meet new people, it most likely will help Greer also since likely alot of their friends moved on and it could help to make friends.
They were a Gryffindor right? I will try keeping an eye out.

In happier topics, Patchless had a birthday! Gifts weren't much but that tends to happen at this time of year its hard with two things. But Patchless got some cool stuff like a Weather in a Bottle that was used for a Snow Army. Some chocolates (I had to have them as Patchless can't eat them), some underwear and a Howler!

Oh, you remember Fauna Blake? I don't think you were here with her, but maybe? She's Hufflepuff like five years ahead of me, and is an Auror now. She used to be one of the SAWS leaders. We met up and talked about it, and I think we should go for it.[1] I mean, why not? What could it hurt? If you're down with it, maybe we can get things figured out when we all come back.

I think you should talk to the Headmaster about an announcement. He'd probably know what to do. I can't remember what house Greer is,[2] but yeah, we'll all have to look out for her. Protect Firsties 2012!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope this arrives in time! I wanted to make something. I hope its still working, I've been practicing it and thought it may be somewhat useful to remember. For now it will look like some paper, but it should change with the moon cycle, if you wave your wand over it and the moon should go through all the cycles quickly before setting back.

Included with the letter is a parchment moon that would show the current moon state, as described in the letter if a wand was waved at the moon it would rush through all the states before finishing back on the current state of the moon.

Sounds good that you got more information from a former leader, it could work out well, and as said its not like we can lose anything from trying at it.

I'll try speaking to the Headmaster if I see him at any point, I think like alot of staff he's off on Christmas.
I can't fully remember Greer's house either[2], if it is Gryffindor then it does make it a bit easier for me.

P.S: Patchless will become the ultimate wizard at making little moons! Could be useful for SAWS?

1.	Hopefully I got all the moon stages in the right order, it took me a while and I think I may of messed up one or two

Merry Christmas!

You have to show me the spell for the lunar parchment, for sure. I love art spells. This is absolutely wicked!!!  I think it would be dead useful for SAWS. Would maybe help raise awareness of what it's like to have to always keep track of the moon phase.

Get any good gifts? I got loads of fancy chocolates and a pair of spectacles that change color with the weather and my mood.

Tattoo update: still dreadfully lacking in ink. Will keep you apprised! It's going to happen even if I have to do it myself, I swear it.
