The Headmaster responded at his earliest convenience. The end of term as approaching and his days were packed from dawn to dark.


Mr. Malfoy,

I am intrigued to receive your letter. As a fellow with  my own reputations (both earned and otherwise) I can spare ample benefit-of-the-doubts. We may both suffer for it, but we shall consider the slate between us as blank on both sides.

You'll forgive me that I'm tempted to forgo any culling of your collection - what is a Restricted Section for, after all - but my desire to meet you in person overwhelms my more chaotic inclinations.

Next week-end is right out. Ahem. So it'll have to be today. Hopefully this owl will precede me.
