"But I swear!
Nobody knows, nobody knows what's on this boys mind
And nobody sees, nobody sees what he's been picturing..."

Winston Churchill's Boy by Benjamin Clementine

He had locked the door and chosen a quiet floor at lunchtime. Feliks did not believe that anyone would be especially curious about watching him practice spells but his instincts told him to be careful. Actually, his experience with Zeta Pepper told him to be careful.

A row of chairs were lined up before him, neatly spaced apart, and he was holding his ball of Tenacious Twine in one hand - his wand in the other. This was not the first time he had tried. They looked up the latin root of the spell in The Lycan[1] but that had not been enough to learn how to cast it. Feliks had eventually found instructions in an obscure Library book about wizarding fishermen, who used a Snare Weaving Charm to catch magical ocean creatures (or sea serpents!! he lost an hour reading about sea serpents).

"Necto nassa!" the young boy declared as he threw the twine into the air, flicking his wrist in a half circle towards it. A thin glimmer of magic made the air shimmer and some of the silver string unravelled...

The twine dropped on to a chair, a wilted criss-crossing that did not resemble a net even in the least. Feliks sighed and muttered an untangling charm before casting a quick accio. The twine twisted itself into a ball and shot smoothly back into his palm. He caught it, nimble-fingered, and stared at the chairs.

He was saying the incantation too quickly? His wristwork could not be bad, not after all the work Professor Storm put into it in lessons!

Feliks raised his wand again, correcting posture, more serious in his solitude than ever with friends. "This is going to work," he told himself. It had been nearly a month since he received that package but nothing bad had come of it, yes? And he did not see why he shouldn't learn this harmless spell.

"Necto nassa," a more careful toss, the Tenacious Twine coming undone mid-air again. "Yes!" Feliks exclaimed as the silver string quickly wove itself into a simple net and fell gently on the chairs, like a parent pulling a blanket over their child. His maple wand shone brightly in the unlit room. He grinned, going to the net and touching its light material with fascination. So soft. Could this really ensnare a Werewolf?

It felt good to learn new things. He was definitely going to show Nicola.
