A picture postcard arrives, featuring the moving image of a long tropical shoreline beneath stark blue moonlight. A vampiric figure lays on a beach chair in the foreground, wearing bright red swimming shorts and dark sunglasses. He glances over at the reader every so often to lower his shades to wink.

How is London? Are the nights longer yet?
After moon bathing every evening for the last two weeks, I have acquired something of a tan,
finalement. A local coven has been kind enough to share their supplies with me. Very matriarchal. The blood is rich here, maybe too rich. I go swimming with blacktip sharks and walking with creatures whose names I cannot spell.
You may expect me home by the end of this week.
