    Full Character Name: William Pennyapple.
    Character Birthday & Age: June 7th, 1988
City & Country of Birth: Blackpool, England.
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn?: Pureblood.
    Alma Mater: Hogwarts, Slytherin house.
Job: Beater for the Montrose Magpies.

Wand: William’s wand is made of Lignum Vitae wood and is rigid with a spiraled shaft. It’s core is a hair from the Mane of a Kelpie.

Physical Description: William has a strong build (Though, it’s sort of hard to tell). Considering he’s a beater, it makes perfect sense that William is fairly strong and powerful. Even though he hardly shows these features unless he’s in a Quidditch match. William’s build is all due to his sports passion, which he has had since he was in school. He’s about 5’11” with a very powerful posture. It can be fairly intimidating to some, long as they keep on William’s good side they won’t have anything to fear unless William has some vengeance against another Quidditch team. Other than that, William plays fairly and sticks to his wit rather than his muscle… Even if he has to beat people with bludgers.

His hair is fairly short; he never lets it grow out TOO long. William eventually always cuts it to, at the most, a little bit past the top of his ear. William usually ends up cutting his hair because he would have to wear a headband of the sorts in Quidditch to keep it out of his eyes, and, well… That’s not attractive on him. If William wanted to look disgusting then he wouldn’t be William… He’d be Atticus. (It’s a joke.) His hair is a very dark brown, practically black. This is only noticeable in some light, and isn’t really important to discuss.

William’s eyes are a very dark blue. It’s sort of hard to notice this, mainly because of the dirty looks he sends everybody. If he WANTED people to look into his eyes, he would ASK. Which he wouldn’t, because that’s just weird. William doesn’t really send everyone dirty looks, but he sure as heck doesn’t want people trying to figure out his eye color while he signs autographs. It’s really creepy and annoying.

The way he dresses is very tidy and clean. He wears suites or fancy designer clothes. If he’s going to be looked up to and have fans, he shouldn’t be wearing dirty clothes and rags. Which he would never do, since William has been spoiled his whole life. William’s attire is usually black or white (Not because he’s a Magpie, but because he’s boring when it comes to color) and on some occasions (If he’s feeling wild!) he’ll wear blue. William can be rather ENTHRALLING sometimes.

Aside from his boring clothes, William is devilishly handsome. He has a very sophisticated look to him that not all twenty-one year olds can bring. He wears a crooked smile a lot and stands up straight most of the time. He likes to come off more buff than he really is. William uses his looks to get things, which doesn’t always work. Not all people like a big, sweaty Quidditch player.

    Personality Description:

William’s personality is a bit complex. He’s outgoing and cracking jokes one second, then the next he will be sarcastic and cruel. It’s a Pennyapple trait, practically, to have the witty charm of a monster. Which is a compliment. William can be pretty lazy usually and complains, loudly, if he has to please his fans. At a casual party, though, William will have no problem walking around and talking to people. His charisma is his best friend, practically. If he can’t use his looks to fool someone, he’ll use his brains.

He can be rather obsessed with his job, but other than that, there’s nothing really TO William. He’s a snarky man with a high education. William’s skills in Quidditch are outstanding, but can be fairly violent. Not TOO violent, though; he won’t go around clubbing people just because they’re on the other team. If William gets into a game enough, he’ll hit those bludgers and they will go speeding towards his victim with such force that they’ll be knocked off their broom before it even hits them. Not really, but it does hurt a lot if he does hit them.

William sweet talks girls like there’s no tomorrow, if a girl doesn’t like him, then he doesn’t understand and continues, anyways. It’s nothing big or creepy, but he calls them “Pet” a lot and teases them. William never grew out of that faze of flirting with girls by hurting their feelings. If he sees he’s hurt someone… He’ll furrow his brow and say “Does this mean I have to find another girl? Because I’m a little too tired.” Which is practically always the case.

If one talks badly about William, he won’t think twice to slice the person down. His insults can be very cruel and awful, but he doesn’t know. He’s proud of who he is and doesn’t want anybody degrading where he stands. In simpler terms, William is too arrogant to let anybody get away with insulting him. William never really understands that what he says is much too hurtful, when someone confronts him about it he simply says “… What?” or “Stop being such a pansy.” And in some occasions, “I’m famous. Why would I care?”

Even though William is a git sometimes, he can be very friendly at some points, like how I’ve mentioned before. William can be the total opposite if someone is nice enough to him. He will joke with people and compliment them; he’ll even buy folks a round of drinks if the mood hits him. But William is usually too tired from work to be friendly. When he IS in a good mood, he can be found at any party or restaurant.

    History:
    (With help from Mena!)

The Pennyapple family is what would be considered old money. They had done well for themselves, trifling with investment ventures and working with the Ministry of Magic. In uncertain times, cooperation comes at a high price. They had acquired a large sum of money, enough to support themselves and their large family. Keeping any judgments they actually had to themselves, Samantha and Gregory Pennyapple were able to build on their combined fortunes. This was good with three boys to support, Kevin, Donovan and Alan.

Donovan Pennyapple is the middle child of the three and grew up in luxury, determined to give his children no less than what he had grew up with. He was tutored by the best from an early age and his marriage was quickly arranged. He was, actually, unwilling to go in the direction his father wanted: The Ministry. His brothers were glad to let daddy find them their jobs… But Donovan preferred to branch off into Quidditch and start making his own brooms. His love of Quidditch and flying was passed on to his oldest son, William.

William Pennyapple was born to Donovan and Alissa Pennyapple on June 7, 1988. For being the child of an arranged marriage, William was exceptionally lucky. Being the oldest of the Pennyapple children, William was the one who adapted the most to the spoiled lifestyle. He grew used to screaming, kicking (and often biting) to get his way and sadly, no one tried to stop him. He was easily one of the most difficult children on the face of the earth. It was lucky that his parents decided to have another child a few years later in order to suppress William’s temperamental and spoiled nature… Or so they thought.

Having a brother solved nothing, it really only created more problems. There was a certain amount of jealousy towards Atticus, which led William to begin torturing the boy just a little bit more than his parents would have liked… Or known. The thought that anyone might get more attention than William angered the boy greatly and he thought Atticus was boring; a pathetic little thing that sat there and cried. How could his parents ever love that? It was beyond his immature, little thoughts. Of course, two years later his parents had to go and have another useless baby, Oliver Pennyapple.

Why his parents had failed to realize that William was the type of child that would only accept being an only child is something that no one would understand… Ever. Maybe because the nannies were the only ones who paid attention to him? Or maybe they just didn’t may attention? Despite the fact there was no consequences, William was smug about being the first grandchild, which meant that in the eyes of his grandparents, he would be a saint. After all, the first grandchild is generally the favorite, and William was able to pull off a disguise of innocence when Atticus showed up with things written all over him and Oliver too.

William liked Oliver slightly better than he did Atticus, but maybe it was because Atticus had taken the attention that William rightfully deserved and Oliver, however, did not. He wasn’t really fond of either of them, however, and would rather play with his cousins or go with his father when he offered to take him along on a broom test run. He loved it when his father would take him flying; there was something about being up in the air that just felt right to William.

When William went to Hogwarts, he was sorted into Slytherin and whether it was his pureblood, his spoiled nature, or his family’s awful, secretive views, no one would ever know. Then again, many of the Pennyapples had been in Slytherin and William’s dreams were big. He took quickly to flying, and by his third year he joined the Quidditch team as a beater. His spoiled nature and violent temper helped him greatly in his new-found position. He would stick to it for the rest of his years.

He also managed to find himself fairly popular during his years at Hogwarts, maybe because he didn’t really start showing his true-self until after he graduated. Not that Slytherin’s would have minded him as a spoiled snot that back-sassed everyone, they all seemed to be like that then and put up with it from others. He was smart enough to keep his temper locked-up and convinced people that he was actually sort of a nice guy. Then again, his skills with a beater’s bat and his good-looks would probably be the actual reason of his popularity.

He found the right friends, and was able to help a few people breeze through their classes when the time came for exams and other important tests. He may not have been top of his class, but William was fairly intelligent. He received almost perfect OWLs and NEWTs. Almost. He was basically playing a skilled balancing act with school, Quidditch, and friends. He also knew that an education would be important, no matter what he chose to do once he graduated. It was always a good idea to be smart and have a back-up plan.

Though William had bugged his brother to join common school activities, he eventually gave up on trying to make Atticus play and be like a normal wizard, and let him stick to his drawing, throwing aside any concern that his brother might not fit in. He had tried, hadn’t he? Though he still hints in owls now and again that his brother should try and join the Quidditch team, Atticus mainly skips over those bits and replies to the rest of what was written. Despite his brother’s strange behavior, William has started liking him more and does love him. They are family, after all.

Out of Hogwarts, William made his grandparents proud, doing that which his father had never done much to their disgust, and began an internship at the Ministry for Magic. It was a tedious and mediocre job, for a person much more stupid than he was. Still, it was a paid internship and even if he was bored to tears at the end of the day he was doing something with himself. Eventually, he decided that he was done with the Ministry. He was done with being bossed around, being pushed and shoved. Being miserable.

He decided to try out for a Minor League Team and got himself into the position of Beater on a small team. William loved Quidditch and flying, he always had. He thought this would be a more fitting job for himself. After three years of proving his worth and improving his skills playing in the Minor Leagues, he began to be scouted for professional teams. He was finally getting recognition from the big cheeses that ran the professional League. While he received many offers, he decided to join the Montrose Magpies, the top team in the League… Not that this mattered, it was just because they offered the biggest pay.

What is your occupation? How do you go about it?
How did you get your current occupation?
How does your past and abilities justify your current skills?:

William is a Beater for the Montrose Magpies. William had played for the Slytherin Quidditch team in his younger days, so he’s very much used to the whole game. He also started on a minor-league team after his job at the ministry, and he was scouted out to the professionals after a few years. William has always been a really good beater and is very thrilled to be playing with professionals. His age isn’t the best to be playing for a professional team, but William is a very strong beater. People may think he’s too young, but he laughs in their face. William has proven himself to be strong enough to play with older witches and wizards... Well, at least he believes so. William’s not afraid to beat someone. That’s the point of his job, now isn’t it? William is very pompous with his job, he loves being a pro-player and thinks it’s the best career for him; because it really is.

Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects
of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.

It was yet another lovely day in Scotland and William Pennyapple was enjoying a drink (Non-alcoholic, of course) out on a small restaurant’s patio. He was tired and sore from being tortured on the Quidditch pitch. It had been a long day and he was happy to finally be alone and in peace… Or so he thought, really. A group of common teenage girls were walking into the restaurant, being all… Adolescent and such. Before William could even take another sip of his ice-cold lemonade, the girls had recognized him.

“H- Hey… Aren’t you a player for the Montrose Magpies?” The tallest of the bunch had approached him. William’s lips twitched and he eyed her, “Yes, I am.” He nodded.

“Oh… My gosh.” She whispered, “They’re my favorite team!”

Of course, William thought, who WOULDN’T love the Magpies? He gave her a cocky smile and nodded, “Understandable.” She made a small squeal and then told her friends to come over.

“So. What do you play?” Another girl asked, sitting down in front of him. What does he play? William had every right to snap at the girl, he thought. But he kept his mouth shut about being offended. He was fairly new to the team, so there was no need to over-react.

“I’m a beater.” He said, taking a sip of his drink.

“Oh my gosh… But I thought you were supposed to be much cuter?” The girl in front of him asked. William’s eyes narrowed. She was clearly talking about his fellow beater… And she had insulted him. William’s smile quickly wiped off his face and he eyed the girls as they giggled and whispered to the other ‘Why would you say that?’

“Listen.” William shook his head, “You’re not one to talk, little girl. Why don’t you leave the adults alone and go off with your milkshakes and butter beers that make your thighs fatter than they already are.” He snapped at the girl who had sat down in front of him. Her smile faded just as quickly as his did. She got up and the girls slowly entered the restaurant, muttering to each other that what the girl had said was wrong… And that William was a jerk. He shrugged and gulped down the rest of his drink. Teens were all mean little leaches.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:

William is a spoiled boy who is very lazy. He loves his job and takes Quidditch seriously. William isn’t very close to his family, but he still loves them to death and keeps in touch. If William isn’t at practice, he’ll usually be lazing around or at a party. He can be very sweet and good-hearted one moment and rude and sarcastic the next. If someone bad mouths William, he will always say something about it. William is handsome and he’s fairly strong, but never really shows his real strength unless he’s on the pitch. William’s very sarcastic and witty, just like practically every Pennyapple. And William was a Slytherin when he was in school.
