Physical Description:
Osha Warrington is about 5’6’’, although you would have to add another two inches to that estimate if you were to include her curly, teased-out hair. She has a cherubic, heart-shaped face and a sweet smile to suit it. The plumpness of her youth hasn’t entirely disappeared but she has always been a pretty girl, whose adventures with make-up have only served to emphasise her flower child intentions.

Like many teenagers, Osha devours beauty magazines and Witch Weekly alongside her school reading. She’s quite critical about white-European beauty standards. Even so, she indulges and plays to the latest trends. Osha likes fashionable clothes, although she isn’t too adventurous about what she wears. As time wears on, she is slowly becoming confident enough to carry off these styles.

She is the kind of witch who either giggles or cackles. It is easy to spot her at a distance by the chipper, rhythmic nature of her walk. Osha is a natural dancer, and it isn’t unusual to catch her dancing to the Wireless in the common room. Touching and hugging people come naturally to her.

Personality Description:
Soft-hearted and studious, Osha likes to keep balance in her life. She naturally leans towards having a good time but tries to remind herself about the serious, academic side of things too. Her love for floristry and nature plays a large role in her personality - it has always led her to pursue a kind of hippie, Bohemian aesthetic. She believes herself to be spiritual and at one with mother nature. Unless mother nature is a cumbersome Mandrake, then it is very much NOT at one with her. In spite of how much she likes the superficial side of the flower child lifestyle, she approaches Herbology and floristry with almost ruthless practicality.

When it comes to making friends Osha likes to think that she can get along with almost everyone! Which is to say, she’s friendly with most people, but only a few are quite close to her. She is all about feminism but sometimes gets annoyed when her friends are too boy crazy. Osha doesn’t even know if she likes boys yet - she’s never dated anyone, and isn’t in a hurry to dive into that pool. Bit tough when your dad trains security trolls!
 
Osha is definitely a dreamer when she isn’t focused on serious tasks. She can arrange flowers and paint and draw and clip herbs, all the while daydreaming. But if you need her to do something urgent or important, she can be very attentive. True to her Hogwarts house, Osha is also very good at finding things. She has to be: her living space is always a mess. An organised mess, she insists.

History:
Osha was born to Yuka and Cato Warrington. Her mother is a witch of Inuit and Veela ancestry, who currently runs Floriblunder’s Florist in Diagon Alley. Cato is a trainer of Security Trolls. Her parents have a loving relationship but don’t get much time together, due to their respective professions. Osha is their only child and they are prone to sometimes spoiling her.

CHILDHOOD

As a young girl growing up in the city of Glasgow, Osha was obsessed with muggle culture. She spent a good deal of time with her mother, who had yet to take over the Florist business on a full-time basis. They lived in cottage on the outskirts, not far from a greenhouse that supplied magical flowers to Floriblunder’s. When Osha was not following her mother to inspect the greenhouse, she would insist on going to see muggle shops and muggle movies. She was also friends with other Scottish wizarding children, whose clans knew one another.

When Osha was ten her family moved to London because Yuka’s father had passed away and left the Florist shop to her running. They bought a small house in Maida Vale, of which upstairs apartments are rented to lodgers. London was a change from the Scottish city but Osha was keen to learn how to navigate it. By the time she was due at Hogwarts, she knew all the tube lines by heart - and could have taken the underground to Kings Cross to catch the Hogwarts Express, if necessary.

HOGWARTS

Her first year at school had been difficult. Osha’s charmed childhood, full of leisure time and surrounded by flowers, made it hard for her to adjust to the more rigorous schedule. She was often late for lessons and nearly failed her Defences exam. Luckily, Warringtons don’t give up very easily. Osha returned for her following years at Hogwarts with renewed determination - for one, she found pleasure in subjects like Herbology and Potions, at which she naturally excelled. Advice from Cato helped her to overcome her weaknesses in Defences. She was still (at best) an average student.

Socially, it was easy for Osha to get along with her peers. Her natural diplomacy and strategic use of Veela charm helped her to avoid heated conflicts, although she did sometimes lose her temper when her friends were teased or bullied. This usually involved a lot of yelling, and some creative swear words.

Osha’s overall good behaviour and tact led to her being chosen as a prefect in her fifth year. Younger students found it easy to approach her for help, while her peers didn’t find her particularly objectionable in the post. She takes her prefect duties seriously but can usually be persuaded to let somebody off the hook, especially if it’s a firstie or if she thinks they’re being genuine. Osha is not above breaking the rules - she just needs to convince herself she has a good reason to do so.

In the summer months, Osha either worked at Floriblunder’s in Diagon Alley, or at the greenhouse near Glasgow. She has also had short stints working part-time summer jobs at Reducto Records and Slug & Jiggers Apothecary. Most people might know her as the cheerful and pleasant girl who has helped them at these shops, at one point or another.

Hard work in her fourth and fifth years meant that she was able to come away with OWLs in everything. For her penultimate year, she chose to drop Defences as it was too much work for her. Osha continues to participate in the Duelling Club in order to please her father. She studies in the hopes of someday having her own greenhouse or plant nursery. It is her dream to have one in Hogsmeade.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:
Osha is very much a Hufflepuff, in that she is loyal to her close friends and tries her best to be honest. Sometimes these two things are at odds with each other, but she almost always tries to do what is fair. Although she likes to have fun and is a bit of a dreamer, Osha values hard work. She didn’t used to, at first, but soon realised in her first year how much hard work it was to learn the things her parents did all the time - charms and Herbology and defences. They had made it look so easy! Osha respects their diligence and tries her best to apply it to her own life.

Osha Warrington is a sixth year Hufflepuff who is quite friendly and easy to approach! She is hardworking but finds it much too easy to forget herself and have a good time instead. Osha loves flowers and nature, and considers herself a Bohemian at heart. She’s always down for dancing, a toke of gillyweed, and spiritual meditation. It is her dream to one day have her own plant nursery. Too cool for you.

Osha's maternal grandmother was a Veela. Her mother is a half-Veela and they both are capable of wielding the charm.

Describe how the Special Ability influences their life.  What do they use it for?:
Osha has always been told by her mother that she should never abuse her charm. She is prone to using it when she is trying to persuade someone to help her with her homework, or to stop them from breaking a rule (as part of her prefectorial duties). Usually, Osha will catch herself doing this and she will stop. She unconsciously uses her charm when she is dancing.

Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability:
 When Osha uses her charm, consciously or unconsciously, she is able to hold someone's attention as a result of an entrancing effect. They will view her as more physically and romantically attractive. Her movements are more graceful and inviting when the charm is in effect. The charm only works on people who are already attracted to women.

Due to her Veela blood, when Osha is angry her screams can be almost Harpy-like. She is capable of producing weak fireballs in her anger - enough to set something on fire but easily deflected. Osha feels exhausted after especially vehement fits of anger.

What Experience has Prepared You For This Honor?:
Osha was a pleasant presence in lessons, and was always able to lead groups in class when it was time for group projects. She gets along with most people and is very fair-minded. Although she has chosen not to take her NEWTs in Defences, Osha is still a part of the Duelling Club and is capable of getting herself out of a tight fix if necessary.

What Do You Think the Most Important Aspect of This Job Is:?
Osha thinks that the most important part about being a prefect is being able to come across as strict but approachable. She wants her younger housemates to know that they can always come to her with their troubles! It is also important for her peers to understand that she is not above going to the faculty if they outright break a rule -especially if she believes that what they're doing is genuinely bad/dangerous.

As an older student and someone who is very aware of balancing her social-school life, Osha is an ideal prefect candidate. She cares about everyone - especially her housemates - and doesn't want to seem them getting into serious trouble or danger. In the past, Osha has helped younger Hufflepuffs find their footing in Hogwarts. This includes anything from introducing them to the Kitchens, to telling them how to deal with pesky Slytherins who share a common room in the lower floors. Osha is also known for standing up for her friends if she thinks they are being treated unfairly: she doesn't back down from harsh words, and prioritises safety.
