The identical letters arrive at the Ministry of Magic. The letters appear to hold no information other than when their intended recipients read. The handwriting, while not immaculate, is legible and clearly written by the Head Healer personally.


Dear Minister Glass and Mr Carstairs,

I write to you both with a proposal to solve problems that both the Ministry of Magic and St Mungo’s are currently facing. In June 2010, our former Minister, Madame Zephyr and I met at St Mungo’s to discuss the perturbing reality of dementors plaguing our nation. Madame Zephyr put her confidence and trust in myself and my staff at St Mungo’s to find a way to improve public confidence and find a way to cure victims of dementor exposure or even a kiss.

A team at St Mungo’s, directed and lead by myself, have diligently worked on creating a cure and we feel that are coming close to something with our ability to use leglilimens on the minds of the demented. For weak exposure, the technique is showing promise, but we are missing something fundamental.

I kindly request a meeting with you both and whomever involved in the case of Mr Lawrence Musgrave to discuss the possibility of him being passed into the care and charge of St Mungo’s. It is my strong belief that my team and I can find a way to heal him of his symptoms and ties to the dementors, and in turn, heal and save countless affected individuals.
