CHARACTER SPOTLIGHT: Ed Pratt
Mel’s character,
Ed Pratt is the long-suffering Head Auror who
tried to resign once, but they couldn’t find any other bugger willing to replace him. A Slytherin at Hogwarts, and a Yorkshireman, Ed is known to be one of the scruffier aurors who still gets results and certainly commands the respect of the other red robes.
Ed’s not so great at maintaining a romance of late, but has an
impressive brood of Pratts. You can find him
striking deals with wanted wizards,
winding up vampires, and
treating trainees to his favourite hexes. Woe betide anyone who threatens to sign him up to another of Penny Pickler’s diversity courses.
Pratt was popular--and rightfully so. He'd been a stalwart in an office that had seen significant turnover. A high performer, and a man willing to take a lead. At least for a time. What was more, he had the batch of Aurors loyally flagged about him. Pratt was one of their own.- Melissa's Gilchrist Riordan in

Vampire Cuddle GroupThe various ambassadors all had differing opinions on the other beings, and their vampire consultant, Tristan, had already lodged a complaint against Level 2, who in turn had caused Penelope to have a minor meltdown over Ed Pratt’s manners. - Kit's Cepheus Gamp in
Seven Shades of Shambles...Pratt’s affinity for things he couldn’t control would probably get the best of him. - Jessica's Archer Radley in
Breach of SecurityPratt usually didn't wait long in seizing the newest Trainees for their first lesson as coffee deliverers. - Sparky's Jonas Trevelyan in
Snakes and LaddersPoor Pratt - was the oaf trying to charm her moments before he came strolling in? Whatever it was, it was amusing to watch Pratt's mood go from terrible to epically horrid. Was insulting the girl's stockings really necessary? Some witches preferred the modern fashion, even if it was a bit...odd. But what would Pratt know about fashion! He couldn't even find matching socks for his Auror robes, for Merlin's sake. - Nika's Cameron Rosier in

FEATURED: Pentrals Possessing!
A new villain and
DMLE related plot has come to town, wixes! Returning member Elle is causing mischief with her menacing witch Lorelei Hunt, leaving behind a trail of squib bodies in her power-hungry attempts to create
pentrals. But Abby Reid has broken free from Lorelei's house of murder, and in doing so has unleashed a swarm of pentrals across the country. These tortured souls roam freely, where they are capable of latching on to innocent victims or even possessing them!
What's more, they are strong attractors of Dementors - tying Lorelei into the Ministry's Dementor problems and the
Dementors Dementing plots.
Think your character might have been a victim to these runaway pentrals or their attracted Dementors? Maybe part of an effort to investigate these sinister happenings.... or even an ally to Lorelei? Drop a note on the plotting board!

Hogwarts Year
If you wrote a fifth or seventh year in the 2010-2011 year, their exam results arrived on 15th July by owl.
It's now time to fill in the career change forms to let us know what your departing students are up to, or they will become 'witch' and 'wizard' status on the cast when we start updating all the student titles for the new academic year.
The
new school calendar is available.
A train thread on Sept 1st and the all important sorting hat feast will be posted shortly! If you've had a burning desire to write a professor, now is the perfect time to post, as any long term inactive posts are up for grabs.
For simplicity the
lesson timetable will stay the same, so make sure to grab the timetable for your student's new year.
