Physical Description:
Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, Ace is one of the tallest in his family.  He is most often seen in muggle clothing and is very fond of long coats.  He has dirty blonde hair that he changes the length of frequently, but likes to keep it at almost shoulder length because it's easier to tie back to keep it out of his face.  It's slightly curly when down as well.

He has blue eyes that tend to darken when he gets emotional and he almost always has an unshaven appearance on his face.  He thinks it makes him look roguish.

He has a scar of the small of his back due to an accident at the French Dragon Reserve that he'd rather not talk about, and a tattoo of an Antipodean Opaleyel on his left calf.

Personality Description:

Ace is quite the character.  He does get along with most people just fine, but his relationship with animals is much better.  The ten years he spent on the reserve in France has made him understand animals on a different level than most people.  Ace would much rather be surrounded by animal friends than those of the human variety.  Although, because of the time spent around dragons, he had to be aware of his surroundings at all times, and the surroundings of his fellow workers.  Only to make sure that no one did anything to startle or harm one of the dragons. He can read most body language and sometimes tell what people are thinking by the looks on their faces.  His most useful talent is being able to tell when people are lying.

Though he always looks for the good in people, those that have been rude or mean to him or his friends are immediately blacklisted, in his opinion.  He refuses to talk, look at, or acknowledge their presence at all.  For the friends he has, Ace sometimes shamelessly flirts with them whether they are male or female.  He doesn't mean anything by it.  He isn't really sure why he does it, but maybe sometime he might like a relationship, but his luck hasn't been the best with finding a partner. The last relationship he had ended with a glass of pure tequila in his face.  His eyes stung for hours.

He's been known to be sarcastic and having a weird sense of humor.  Finding something to laugh at in the the most inappropriate times and places.  He once broke into a fit of laughter at an acquaintances funeral. He had only attended because one of his close friends had wanted someone to come with.

As for his working style, he's very good at his job, but he tends to stick to his own.  He doesn't like to have to work with a team mostly because he can't stand to watch them make mistakes or help them get better at their job.  He keeps to his own job and then go home without having to socialize with co-workers.

His siblings are all scattered all over the world since he came back from France.  He still gets regular letters from his numerous nieces and nephews, but only sees the whole family once a year at Christmas time.  His parents are gettting older and don't go anywhere much anymore. It doesn't bother him much really.

While he does tend to socialise with anyone, unless there is something that really catches his interest, he won't remember you.  He's just trying to be his own person and doesn't want to let anyone get in the way of that.

History:
Growing up in a large family had its perks and its downfalls.  Born the youngest of 5 children and the second boy made him both cherished as the youngest child and overlooked as his parents had done all the parenting stuff before and considered themselves 'old pros' at it.

At a young age he was always outside, playing in the dirt, finding stray animals, and up in trees.  As the youngest child, he didn't have to worry about learning too many things about his family as he wouldn't be running anything when he was older.  He was quite happy to spend his childhood outside.  This began his love of animals.  It started small, with the stray kittens and one stray wolf cub. He actually nursed the wolf cub back to health as it had been caught in a trap and was left alone.  Or so he thought, once the cub had healed, it took off back to the woods and he'd never seen it again.

As he grew nearer to going to Hogwarts, his parents tried to get him to settle down and stay away from the more dangerous creatures there were in the forest near their home, but inevitably, he'd come home filthy and injured in some way from trying to get close to another animal.

At Hogwarts, the first couple years in Gryffindor went by smoothly.  Ace was getting the hang of being in a boarding school and making sure that he had a routine down before he decided to explore.  In his third year he made his way into the forest surrounding the school and when no disasters happened that year, he kept going into his fourth year.  Although he had to stop, he'd not seen the small hole in front of him (mostly cause it was almost dark and inside the forest he couldn't see much), he hadn't lit his wand yet because he didn't want to scare anything away.  He got his foot caught and as he fell forward it twisted and he heard the snap of his ankle bone.

Not wanting to be alone in the forest, he picked up a thick branch from within his reach and used it as a crutch of sorts to make it back to the castle.  He was lucky enough to catch a prefect who had been finishing their patrol who helped him get to the infirmary.  And while it did curb his late night forays into the forest, it did nothing to cure his thirst for knowledge of living creatures.

In his sixth year he began to focus his study of animals into one particular species - dragons.  He was amazed at the large animals and wanted to work with them.  So while he kept up his Hogwarts grades at mostly Acceptables, minus Potions and Care of Magical Creatures - in which he always made the highest grade.  He was doing his own independent study of dragons.  Seventh year went fast and after graduation, Ace went home and then told his mother he was going to France.  There was a dragon reserve there that taught newcomers everything they needed to know about dragons.

He spent 10 years at that reserve until one accident put a stop to him being there. He'd tried to get up close and personal with the one Antipodean Opaleye dragon the reserve was holding there until she hatched her eggs.  She wasn't too happy with the human in her personal space and let her anger known with fire.  He escaped with miraculously only a small burn on the small of his back where she caught him on the way out of the clearing where she had her eggs.

Now that he's back home and his siblings have all moved away and are living their own lives.  He's looking for something to do and maybe, just maybe, a job at the Ministry will be something to look forward to.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
He's currently between jobs at the moment, but Ace is hoping to find something to do at the Ministry.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field:
Ten years at the Dragon Reserve in France.  He's done nothing but study dragons since he graduated Hogwarts.  It's all he knows.

Writing Sample:

Sum up your character in one paragraph: He's a man who loves dragons.  He's charming, serious when he needs to be, and is always up for a laugh or to hang out and get drinks with co-workers or friends.
