Physical Description:
Kyson is a springy teen with a light frame. The sort of boy that puberty hit with a tonne of bricks. Though he seems diminutive in size compared to his older Quidditch playing cousins Kyson's not just skin and bones.  Summers working on his family's ranch has left him with some well defined arms and legs. Much like his sister's, standing at only 5'5", it's unlikley that Kyson will get much taller.

He has a long rounded face with soft eyes and full lips, taking more of the Cavanaugh features - like his wavy medium brown hair - than the lighter features the Wentworths are known for. Due to this Kyson is rarely associated with his older pale and blonde sisters.

Kyson is rather laid back and casual with his dress. Though his school uniform is rarely seen messed, as soon as classes are done for the day Kyson appears to be instantly unkempt. His shirt's untucked, tie loosened and vest pulled off. He makes no suggestions with his style or attitude that he came from a wealthy family.

Personality Description:
Kyson can be reckless and impulsive. He's quicker to solve a problem with his fists and his wand than with words. In his younger years he was simply seen as mischievous, now as adulthood quickly approaches his impulsiveness has lended to a mean streak that has caused some serious damage. He hasn't been in as many fights as his surly older cousin but the few he has been in have ended quickly, typically with the other party making a trip to the Hospital Wing.

Despite this, Kyson can be a very happy and loyal friend. Though he doesn't make friends easily those that have earned his trust will have it for life. He'd do anything for his friends, regardless of what was needed (even if it included beating someone down or breaking a few rules) He can be charming around the right girls but given his size tends to fill the 'little brother' role over the boyfriend one.

Although he doesn't look it, Kyson is dedicated to school and achieving good grades. It has been his lifelong aspiration to become an Auror like so many of his family before him - as they say Cavanaughs breed the best Aurors - and in order to do so he needs to make sure he performs well in school.

Kyson rarely if ever talks about his father. He'll tell anyone that'll listen that his mother died fighting in the Second Wizarding War but his lack of mention of his father have left many of his peers to believe the man is dead. Truthfully Kyson is unsure of how he feels. He has spent his life watching the once brave warrior wither away under his affliction, ashamed he never got to see him in his prime. Though he doesn't blame him for becoming a werewolf, he's not exactly proud of him either. He wouldn't say he was against werewolves but he's been too close to the ravages of the disease to really see anything good about it. However these are thoughts he has rarely shared with anyone, not wanting people to think less of him for it.

History:
Kyson was born the third child to Aurors Catherine and Kevin Cavanaugh. As a small child he was taken care of by the many nannies and tutors that came through their home, like his sisters had been before him. His parents, both being Aurors, worked long hours and didn't see their children as often as they'd like.

When Kyson was three and already proving to be a rambunctious toddler, the Second Wizarding War had come to a head. His parents fought in many battles that year, one such caused his father to contract Lycanthropy and not long after, during the Battle of Hogwarts, Kyson's mother died. Too young to really comprehend what had happened he learned many years later that dozens of family members (mostly on the Cavanaugh side) had lost their lives that year.

Although his father was now home, he had become even more distant than he had been when he was busy working. With his eldest sister well into Hogwarts and his other sister only two years older than him, they were in need of something more than a grief stricken former Auror who became a monster once a month. Enter Aunt Sheridan.

Sheridan and Catherine hadn't been close as children but had become close as adults especially when Sheridan gave birth to her twins mere days before Kyson was born. She regularly visited the house with her babies in tow and saw to the children while the regular household chores and duties were overseen by staff brought in by Kyson's grandfather. As they grew Kyson would often travel with Sheridan as she worked, his older sister attending 'Lady Classes' with their cousins. He grew close to Sheridan's twins, Grant and Kelly, and often acted like an older brother to the rest of the Bagnold children. The less time spent around his brooding ravaged father the happier Kyson appeared to be.

By the time Kyson had been accepted into Hogwarts he had been living with Sheridan and her large family, learning about different cultures, magic around the globe and what little he could of his family's business. Despite the appeal of the Wentworth legacy (not to mention it's riches) Kyson was still dead set on being an Auror. A desire that was only strengthened when he discovered a natural talent for Defense Against the Dark Arts.

At Hogwarts, he wasn't surprised to be sorted into Slytherin but was disappointed he wasn't in either Gryffindor like his big sister Briar or even Ravenclaw with the twins. He was however well looked after by his cousins Cadance and Tiberius (and later Xavier). Kyson did well enough in school and got along with most of the boys in his year, while being endearing to several of the girls.

In his third year Kyson picked up Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes as his electives. It was hard for anyone growing up within the wide tree of the Wentworth family to not enjoy being around animals. His cousin Grant had convinced him to take up Ancient Runes which he ended up finding fascinating in it's own right. He struggled with Potions and History but did well in Transfiguration and Charms - DADA still being his best class.

In his fourth year Kyson dated a Ravenclaw named Brittany Jensen, the romance lasting most of the school year but not expanding into the summer. Kyson himself spent most of his summers either crashing at Berkeley's flat in Diagon or working one of the family ranches for extra galleons. He did what he could not to be back home but still visited during important holidays. Briar seemed to have the same mentality and it seemed their father preferred it that way. The only one of the three he wasn't irritable with was Berkeley.

Kyson has spent most of his fifth year focused on his studies and preparing for his OWLs, knowing just how important they are to his dreams of being an Auror. For potions in particular he even enlisted a tutor or two just to make sure he performed well.
