Physical Description:
Tanned skin from countless hours outdoors in the summertime, Emrys' 4 ft 8 in. tall frame is one of an athletic child.  He has wavy brown hair that has blonde highlights in it when he's out in the sun, most of the time he wears it down and sometimes he cuts it close to his head.

He's a jeans and t-shirts kid, but since his family is pureblooded he does own several suits, dress robes, and more shoes than he cares to admit. His dark blue eyes are constantly taking in his surroundings.  He does have a simple aquamarine stud earring in his right ear.

Personality Description:
Emrys is a precocious child. He has his own opinions and has gotten in trouble quite a bit for telling people exactly what was on his mind.  He can be slightly impulsive at times when it suits him and has an intense love of anything mint-flavored. He's also very loyal to his grandfather.

He can be quick to anger, and loves to be outside.  Emrys loves to be in the air, whether on a broom, the flying carpet he was lucky enough to try the one time his family went to India, or on one of the many hippogriffs in the herd his uncle owns.

Always ready for a prank, a game, or just something that will help him escape boredom, he is a very fun-loving young man.  But he has been known to take a stack of books out to the treehouse his grandfather built for him and just disappear for the entire day.  He is not happy being the only child of his family, and wishes that he didn't have to become the heir when he's old enough. He'd rather do what he wants and just have fun. 

He also has a desire to go travelling, but at eleven, it's kind of hard for him to go where he wants.

History:

To a little known pureblooded family in Ireland, Emrys was both eagerly anticipated and a complete surprise to anyone in the family but his parents.  They had known she was pregnant, but they decided to not let the family know until they were sure it was a boy.  In truth, his family needed an heir.  They were a small family, Emrys' mother Helen had no other family members (her grandfather was the last remaining member of her family), and Emrys' father Gideon had two sisters and his father. 

From a young age, young Emrys was taught by tutors that his family hired to try and turn him into the perfect little prince they'd long hoped for.  But around the age of six Emrys had other plans.  He began to sit with his grandfather Andrew at nights and listen to the man's fantastical tales of travelling all around the world.  His parents and aunts didn't approve of this and tried to curtail the young boy's fascination with his grandfather's stories.

None of what they did worked though and up until Emrys' 9th birthday, every night you could find Emrys sitting by his grandfather in the study, listening raptly to his stories.  But tragedy struck not four months later when the old man passed away in his sleep.  For a while, Emrys retreated into himself, but realized that he remembered most of his grandfather's stories and began to write them down.  He had no plans for anything, he just wanted to always remember them.

Now that he just turned 11, the two journals that hold all his grandfather's stories will most likely travel with him to Hogwarts and get him through a few nights of homesickness.

An  eager young boy ready to take the next step in growing up by going to Hogwarts.  Getting away from his family is the first step in his mind to doing what his grandfather loved doing and figures that he can pretend Hogwarts is another adventure and go from there.
