Who?: pretyt much anyone, provided it's realistic for the character.
Where?: again, pretty much anywhere, though obviously, neither Josh or Charles are liekly to sneak out of the grounds of Hogwarts.
Ideas? again, pretty much anything- though I'll admit I'd like to see one of my Hogwarts characters with a girlfriend before they graduate.

Hi Josh!  Welcome back!

Conveniently, I have both a third and seventh year.  Either of them are at your disposal for any plots you have in mind. 

Mairead, in Charles' year, is her usual spunky, quidditch-loving, trouble-causing self.  I suspect she and Charles have always remained somewhat at odds. 

Sasha and Josh, if I recall correctly, generally got along alright.  Never quite friends but never actively disliking each other.  As May drags on, Sasha's burying himself deeper and deeper into exam review.  He's quite sleep-deprived and probably a bit impatient with pleasantries but looking forward to graduation and future plans.

I don't know with Mairead... Charles'd be exasperated with her for causing trouble, but unless I'm forgetting something, she's not malicious. I'd say they might argue occasionally about some of her shenanigans, but wouldn't be at odds as such, at least from Charles's side. She's a Seeker, IIRC, so since I plan to have Charles take over as Beater from Josh when Josh graduates, maybe Charles could help her practice- Mairead  gets to practise chasing the snitch with a Beater targeting her, Charles gets to practice trying to take out an opposing Seeker.

but yeah, Sasha and Josh never really got on, but IIRC, that was generally more on Sasha's side. We could perhaps do something with them revising together? either that, or discussing their future plans?

We have PMed a bit today, and glad you have jumped into the two threads with Josh H to get started.

Like Mai, I write a third year too, there are a few of them dotted about. Tim^§ is Ambrose’s  younger Ravenclaw brother. He’d probably be friend area for Charles? They both are academic sorts with dads in the Ministry.

Third years have a Defence lesson (boggarts!), a history lesson

Tor’s got a cool Ghost Ball event happening. Across town the Leaky Cauldron’s reopening after being burned to the ground in November 2010. Mel’s got a new dept opening at St Mungo’s which is an open thread too.

Maybe you might like to join this thread at 4am on Diagon, Sly kindly jumped in with badasses Shona and Grigory, to save Cass the vampire from some NPCs, but it’s been dormant while she’s been away. It would be nice to write it now we’re all around. (It’s part of a plot called Stick Your Neck Out which is a newer one which would be good to add to as an auror. If you’ve any ideas for it - do go for the plot development topic.)

Milly proposed an idea for a pensieve thread - if any of yours would be about the right age? (She also writes a mean auror and is looking for people to write with)

Charles's probably be friends- even if Charles might get exasperated sometimes with Tim when he's dramatically calling himself a failure. That, and while it hadn't occured to me before, Charles feels somewhat in Josh's shadow- which Tim has a problem with with Ambrose, if I read the wiki right. Maybe they can discuss the pressures of having parents in the Ministry, and trying to get out of the shadow of older brothers?

Sounds good - yes! Ambrose is leaving Hogwarts after his OWLs, but his reputation for being a disaster had everyone thinking Tim would be too. (He's not, thankfully.) Tim would consider Josh to be a massive shadow, he's a prefect and was tipped for Head Boy, and does well in all his subjects as well as doing Quidditch. He is a proper high-achieving big brother, not a bumbling one, and Josh brings glory to the Harcroft name. He might well be a bit jealous of Charles!

Don't worry, Tim isn't prone to the dramatics on a regular basis, and Charles is welcome to tell him he's being melodramatic if he does.

Sounds like a plan then! 13-15 May is a Hogsmeade weekend, and they'd be old enough to go, maybe a good place to have them grumble about their brothers?

Which subjects does Charles do for electives?

I don't think I ever actually did sign Charles up for electives- I think I disappeared before the third years chose theirs.

Zia is the class bicycle, so Josh could have a go if he'd like. (AKA dating/hooking up.) She's more of a "fling" person rather than a "relationship" person but i imagine it would still be a fun experience for a teenage boy.

could be fun  Josh isn't really a fling person, but that's more a case of "if he commits to a relationship, he expects the other person to"- i.e. if Zia was upfront about only wanting a fling, there'd be no hard feelings when it ends. But yeah, I'd be open to either a simple hookup or dating.

They could also intend on heading towards a relationship but after a few weeks Zia will start getting antsy and probably end up cheating on him or something  Teenagers.
If you don't mind starting a thread we could have them go on a picnic or something. I think Zia is free during the Hogsmeade weekend too.

Well, I'd prefer it if she didn't actually cheat on him- he'd be crushed. I could, however, see then breaking up over it- maybe she realizes she doesn't want to commit to one person for now, so they break up? or something along those lines.

Well, that would certainly be less dramatic. Maybe zia will feel pressured by josh to be involved in a committed relationship (even if he's not actually doing that- she'll be looking for excuses to escape so inevitably something will happen).

I'm not sure I like the "escape" way of putting it- he wouldn't pressure her to keep dating- but otherwise, it's pretty much fine.

oh no, of course! I didn't mean to put it that way. Zia's just kind of in a funk right now, but I think she and Josh would really hit it off. Can you start the thread?   we'll give it a shot and see what happens!
