Physical Description:
Sebastian stands at a height of 5’10 and has a lean and athletic built. His most noticeable feature is his smile, which is never absent from his face even on rainy days. Sebastian has inherited his father’s facial structure but takes after his mother in complexion and colouring. His features are lanky and boyish, with an angular jaw line and a patrician nose, which he broke playing Quidditch in his 4th Year. The incident left a crooked bump on the ridge. Another distinguishing feature is his complexion, which is lightly tanned but has a tendency to turn scarlet red on winter days or after exercise. He is keenly aware of this trait and hates it when people misinterpret the flush for mortification or shyness. Sebastian’s light brown hair is naturally wavy and falls just above his ears. He ruffles it constantly to achieve that “tousled, windswept look”. Like his sister and father, Sebastian has green eyes.
Sebastian is not the snappiest dresser and tends to value comfort over style. In fact, he gets a real kick out of going inappropriately underdressed to formal events. He feels most at ease in his Quidditch gear but you’re more likely to find him in a polo and jeans. Sebastian lacks the stingy fashion sense of some of his peers but make up for it in confidence and assertiveness. He does not believe clothes make the man.
Personality Description:
Sebastian is the personification of happiness. Even when he’s feeling down (which he rarely is), he’ll convince himself into thinking otherwise. He is the classic fun-loving extrovert, always ready for a good laugh regardless of the situation. His inability to observe solemnity has led to many incidents involving inappropriate reactions on his part. In this sense, Sebastian can also be very insensitive. He often ends up hurting other people’s feelings without meaning to. Those who are easily offended should beware of his antics. His pursuit for comic relief tends to come at the expense of antagonizing humourless personalities. As a result of this carefree and laughter-oriented personality, many people see him as a clown, a label which he detests. He doesn’t try to be ‘funny’ to gain social acceptance, he is what he is because of purely selfish reasons: it keeps him happy.
Despite the fact that Sebastian will be turning eighteen in less than a year, he still acts like he’s four. Behaving with good sense and maturity is not his strongest department. The extent of his juvenile conduct can be exemplified by his tendency to burst out laughing whenever the words “nutmeg”, “Djibouti”, “Uranus”, and “coin purse” are mentioned. Only when he’s trying to impress a girl will he stop and think twice about the words coming out of his mouth.
Sebastian is very action-oriented and lives for immediate results. He acts before he thinks and tends to be very impatient with people who nag him to reconsider. He’s a hothead and he knows it. To his parents’ alarm, Sebastian envisions a ‘Live fast, die young’ lifestyle for himself. He detests people who purposely waste his time. It is fair to say that his impulsive nature often clouds his ability to make sound decisions.
Sebastian’s ambition in life is to become a professional Quidditch player. He thrives on challenges and competition. He believes in fair play and finds dishonourable tactics extremely distasteful. In sports, Sebastian is a natural born leader. Opinionated and bossy, he enjoys taking charge and having his way. Although he prefers to lead than to follow, Sebastian can also be a good team player. He detests fame hoggers and attention seekers. Very rarely is he ever jealous or other people’s achievements.
When it comes to girls, Sebastian can be quite the flirt. He is easily flattered by their attention and enjoys having them fawning over him. He’s partial to brunettes, particularly the smart ones. He also has a tendency to pursue girls who are vastly different from himself. Although Sebastian cares very little for romance, he’s not averse to undertaking the occasional romantic gestures for girls he really likes. At this point and time, he’s only looking for flings.
While Sebastian came from a privileged background, he detests many of the people from the Pascal social circle, believing them to be hypocrites and snobs. Sebastian had a very liberal upbringing. His parents have always stressed the value of personal merits over hereditary advantages. Although he is a pureblood, he strongly opposes purist ideologies.
History:
Sebastian was born on April 22nd, 1991 to Marcus and Adelaide (née Dais) Pascal in the city of Oxford. He has a twin sister named Vienna. Sebastian was named after Marcus Pascal’s former business partner and friend, Sebastian Leroy, who passed away during Voldemort’s purge of the 1970s. His middle name, Dominic, was derived from that of his paternal grandfather, Dominic Edgar Pascal, the ‘empire builder’. Much to Adelaide’s disappointment, she had originally wanted to name him Edmond, after her own great-uncle.
As a child, Sebastian was a shameless attention seeker. Adelaide doted on him constantly and singled him out as her favourite. To his disappointment, his father seemed to prefer Vienna. Marcus saw in her the same ambition and ruthlessness he saw in himself. Sebastian supposed the two are far more alike than they both let on. Nonetheless, because Marcus was always away on business trips, Sebastian had the advantage of his mother’s backing. In his adolescent years, he made a habit of abusing Adelaide’s favouritism. During any dispute with Vienna (which there seemed no lack of), Sebastian could always count on his mother’s support.
The rivalry he shared with his sister was an intense and childish one. The two bickered and fought over everything. Much to Sebastian’s chagrin, Vienna was annoyingly adept at infuriating him with words. She enjoyed provoking him, and he, in turn, enjoyed pushing her into mud puddles, or tree trunks, and sometimes, when she really hit a nerve, brick walls. Although the two have recently come to a truce, Sebastian still harbours a mild dislike for Vienna. He finds her vain, snobbish, and heartless. However, being the older brother (albeit by mere minutes), he feels obligated to watch over her and defend the Pascal name should unfavourable circumstances arise. After all, blood is thicker than water. Nevertheless, he still does not approve of her attempts at belittling and patronizing others and is not afraid to call her out on it.
During the summer of 1996, Voldemort returned to power and the Pascals, fearful of being labelled blood-traitors, were forced to go into hiding. Marcus and Adelaide sent their children away to Halifax, Canada. It was reasoned that they would be safer there as Voldemort did not accumulate as much power across the Atlantic as he did in Europe. For the next two years, Great-Aunt Lucille became Sebastian and Vienna’s legal guardian. She was a stingy and humourless perfectionist who demanded nothing less of the same from her new charges. Sebastian did not react well to her authority and escaped whenever he could to mingle with his peers. Day after day, he would pass his time in the fields playing Quidditch and local favourites like hockey and lacrosse. Once he learnt how to skate and wield a stick, he got very into it. Despite his Wizarding parentage, Sebastian grew fond of Muggle sports. However, Quidditch remained his first and foremost passion. It numbed his longing for home and gave him something happy to wake up to every morning.
Sebastian lost three relatives in the Second War. His Aunt Cynthia was caught in crossfire while his Uncle Desmond, a Muggleborn, was rounded up by Voldemort’s Death Eaters. A distant uncle, Bergen Pascal, was sent to Azkaban for his crimes against Half-bloods and passed away there. When Sebastian and his family returned to Oxford in August 1998, they found the Pascal estate looted and burnt to the ground. Sebastian spent the next three years at the Pascal summer home in Cornwall while reconstruction efforts began on rebuilding the ancestral manor.
Sebastian entered the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2002. Despite coming from a long line of Slytherins and Ravenclaws, he was sorted into Gryffindor. Unlike his parents and Vienna, Sebastian was not surprised. He knew he lacked the ruthlessness of Slytherin and the love for knowledge of Ravenclaw. While sitting under the scrutiny of an entire Great Hall, Sebastian lost his patience and lashed out at the hat (inwardly). Ignoring his sense of loyalty and fair play, the hat called him an “overhasty rugrat” and sorted him into Gryffindor instead of Hufflepuff. Surprisingly, his parents accepted the fact with good humour and even considered it an accomplishment of sorts. Sebastian was deliriously happy.
Over the next six years, Sebastian threw himself into every activity and club available at Hogwarts. Schoolwork took a backseat to social life and as a result, his grades suffered. His father issued the ultimatum that if he did not pass his O.W.L.S during the Fifth Year, Sebastian could kiss goodbye his dream of going to the Under 18 Quidditch Summer Training Camp in Scotland. If it wasn’t for the tutoring sessions of a very generous Ravenclaw, Sebastian seriously would not have made it through. He continued with the following subjects in his Sixth Year: Muggle Studies, Defence against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures, and Charms.
How Do You Fit Into Your House?:
Sebastian is daring and reckless. Although he holds a sense of fair play, he does not believe it is a quality necessarily enforced by rules. Thus, he has a tendency to disregard authority figures and established norms. His greatest strength is his bravado which can also be his greatest weakness. He believes in standing up for what’s right, even if the odds are against him. He values integrity and strength and respects those who possess these traits, even if they are his worst enemies.

“Like you wouldn’t believe, she just totally flipped out and dumped him without even saying goodbye. Totally heartless right? And I had to watch the whole thing. It was absolutely heartbreaking. So, what do you think?”
She clasped her hands together and flashed him a winning smile. Her big blue eyes sparkled in a way that nearly blinded him. Sebastian stirred a lump of sugar into his tea and thought about throwing himself out of the windows. In all fairness, he reminded himself that he has listened to far worse on a date.
“Well, Abigail,” He flashed the girl his own winning smile and attempted to formulate a decent response in his head to such a convoluted question. What did he care about Albert and Kate? He didn’t even know them. Behind her on the wall, there was a painting of a Knight taming a fiery, yellow-eyed dragon. Always the doer and never the thinker, Sebastian took the idea and ran with it.
“Tell me,” He placed his hand over hers and leaned closer. She followed suit, “Have you ever seen a Hungarian Horntail?”
Abigail’s reaction was priceless. Bewilderment flashed over her doll-like expression and she quickly shook her head, “Sebastian, I don’t under—”. He placed a finger to her lips and shushed her playfully, “Let me continue.”
“You see, the Hungarian Horntail is considered the most dangerous of all dragons. Not an easy feat, believe me. It’s covered with black scales from head to tail, has hideous yellow eyes and a butt—” Sebastian stopped himself and rolled his eyes, “Pardon my language, no, a derriere, that reeks of rotten eggs.”
At this point, Abigail was flabbergasted. Sebastian nearly burst into laughter but caught himself at the last moment. “So, my friend from Durmstrang, Anton, you may have met him last week during my parents’ party, you know, the stocky one with the buzz cut that my sister was trying to kill with her eyes, anyhow, he stumbled upon a dragon egg while hunting in the woods one day and—“
A blonde waitress approached their table and laid down two plates of Chocolate Truffle. Sebastian thanked her and reminded himself to tip generously when they leave. Meanwhile, Abigail has gone completely silent. Finally, Sebastian thought.
“Oh look, our cake is here,” He winked and pushed a plate towards her, “Eat up, darling, and then I’ll tell you what the Hungarian Horntail has to do with Albert and Kate.”
...If anything at all.
Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Sebastian is the classic happy child. Reckless and impulsive, he has a tendency to act before he thinks. This quality often lands him in trouble with authority figures and to make matters worse, his lack of respect for them puts him at a further disadvantage. Sebastian can be very immature at times and is always ready for a good laugh. He’s fun-loving and carefree, action-orientd and hot-headed, a Gryffindor in the truest sense and a Quidditch nut to boot. He dreams of one day becoming a professional Quidditch player for his favourite team, the Puddlemore United.
