City & Country of Birth: Montrose, Scottland

Wand: 11 Inches, Cypress wood, Unicorn Hair. Rigid with a shaft engraved with celtic knot work.

    Physical Description:
Tall at 6 feet, Daniel has long brown hair that gets very curly when wet. He wears his hair in a low tight ponytail tied with a leather tong.
He has an average but handsome face with deep green eyes  and a small scar under his left eye.
He is lanky but muscular with tight compact muscles from his work on farms during the holidays.
His hands are rough yet very nimble and he has a very strong grip.

Daniel likes to wear his sleeves rolled up usually high on his biceps or at least to the elbow. He doesn't appear to care about his appearance but he takes care to appear just untidy enough.

Daniel blends in to any environment and can easily disappear  into a crowd. He often goes unnoticed and treads very softly sometimes getting in trouble for accidentally sneaking up on people.

    Personality Description:
Daniel is best described as cheeky, making jokes whenever he can with a cheeky smirk on his face. He deals with adversity with a lot of dark humor but that hides a lot of anger that rarely rises to the surface. He tries to use his anger for good, using it to drive himself and overcome any obstacle in his path.
He is very stubborn and often gets in trouble for doing what he thinks is right even if it breaks a few, (or many) rules.
Daniel also has an overwhelming desire to help the little guy and absolutely hates bullies. If he has to make the sacrifice play he will.

He enjoys learning and will often study large heavy books for hours at a time. He loves studying obscure wizarding lore and knowledge. Daniel also knows an awful lot about Quidditch and once you get him talking Quidditch it is hard to shut him up.
He is very humble about his own skills on a broom and doesn't talk much on the pitch except to call out commands and warnings.

    History:
Daniel was born to Peta O'Callaghan and David MacDuff on the 27th of July 1995 and as far as he knows only has an older brother. His mother took him when he was three to be raised by her family back in Ireland, her homeland.

As a child Daniel showed an affinity for working magical creatures and even at one point found a leprechaun laying in wait to trick his mother and managed to dump a bucket of water over it's head. This lead his grandmother to nickname him Reaper as only death walked more quietly.

He grew up loving quidditch and played it constantly with his friends and cousins, making it onto the local youth side before going to Hogwarts.

Daniel was allowed to use the family's Irish name when he enrolled in Hogwarts, making his life easier as now he wasn't immediately tarnished with the name MacDuff.

During his first four years at Hogwarts Daniel has enjoyed his time but has spent most of it just blending in to the background. Now in his Fifth year he has decided to get more involved in school, especially trying to make the quidditch squad. This has been in no small part due to some professional quidditch coaches already asking when he was going to play for gryffindor. Without at least a good few years on the squad he will struggle to get the attention of pro scouts.

Daniel has played Chaser since he was big enough to mount a broom and plays with a lot of speed and aggression. He doesn't talk a lot about his own skills but can tell you all about his hometown pro team the Magpies and especially about the Australian league which he followed since he saw a match between the Thundelarra Thunderers and the Woollongong Warriors.

In the holidays between his third and fourth year Daniel helped save his younger cousin Annabel and a number of other young children from a Welsh Green dragon that had been blown off course in a storm and ended up at their quidditch match. Daniel had thrown himself at the dragon managing to distract it with very aggressive and reckless flying before he was knocked off as the dragon flicked his tail. Adult wizards managed to restrain the beast and Daniel spent a week in St Mungos.

Daniel has displayed a particular aptitude for defence against the dark arts and care of magical creatures and knows enough to pass his other classes without really trying. He would do much better if he didn't study exotic and little known magical knowledge and focused on his class work. Thanks to his mother's convincing, Daniel is actually trying this year and maybe he'll get better than Acceptables.

Daniel has been contacted by Aurors regarding his cousin Dugan MacDuff's recent attacks and has tried his best to help them track down the fugitive werewolf. Unfortunately and fortunately thanks to his mother's actions Daniel never had much to do with his cousin and so couldn't help as much as he would like.

He has demonstrated exceptional bravery before and cannot stand bullies. He also doesn't back down very easily and has thrown himself into danger so others can be safe.

    Writing Sample:
Daniel looked up from the dusty tome on Ancient Greek wizard-hoplites when he heard footsteps crunch on the pebbles in front of the granite bench he was sitting on.
He was expecting one of his friends to tell him they were going to go practice flying or something and was therefore quite shocked when he saw a pair of legs beneath a skirt instead of pants and had to stop himself dropping the book cold when he saw one of the Ravenclaw prefects standing in front of him, he'd forgotten her name, so he just mumbled a quite "Hello can I help you," as he clumsily closed the heavy book, dust flying from the cover. "Sorry about the dust"

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Daniel is a pureblood wizard from the MacDuff line who was raised away from his family. He's cheeky and loves joking around. Quidditch is a great passion he just needs to realise he can be a bit proud of his abilities.
