[Jan. 30th] Gold Skies [Roh] on July 01, 2016, 06:12:32 PM It felt good to run. It felt good to have her hair stream out behind her, her bag hitting her thigh, the sense of freedom from responsibility. There were no tears about the confrontation in the common room, only anger. Hot, bubbling to the surface anger, that Zinnia hadn't felt since she was embarrassed on the pitch in her third year by her former best friend. A fierce sense of propriety came next, as she kept running. The tiny seventh year still shaking with rage over how a completely wrong that whole scene in the common room was. You don't walk away from people who took time to speak to you. You don't disrespect a prefect. And you sure as hell don't make yourself out to be a martry for birthday presents. This was why she didn't bother with people outside Sophie and a few others. It was just painful. Painfully stupid, or just hurtful. She reached the heavy door to the prefects bathroom in record time and whispered the password. Solace. Peace. Quiet. She tossed her bag on a lounge chair near the gigantic bathtub, and turned her two faviote taps, one with a giant purple gem that gushed rainbow water that left her skin silky and the other topped with a red gem that filled the top with sparkly golden bubbles. She slipped her skirt off, and looked down at her tank top and panties and was just too annoyed with the world to bother taking a proper bath, she'd shower after she calmed down. Slipping into the water, which was far hotter than most humans could stand, Zin felt comfort wash over her. Her mum had always told her nothing bad could happen in the shower or the bath, and it never felt more true than this moment. She tipped her head back and watched the stained glass mermaid tossing her hair. Zin imitated her, and a giggle escaped from her lips. Merlin did this fell perfect. She held out her hand for her wand, and it flew the foot or so to her hand. She smiled again, rather proud that she finally mastered that little bit of wandless magic and waved it in a complicated pattern over the bubbles, making them gather and shape into a comfy place for her to rest and float. Tossing her wand rather haphazardly, she climbed the mountain of reinforced bubbles, tipped her head back, and did her best to let everything go. She wasn't even really thinking about Bella - because in reality Bella didn't matter. The thing that was grating on Waverly were Eli's actions, his total dismissal and unwillingness to even hear what was happening - on top of having the gall to actually fucking scold her. The whole thing was an annoying bumble jumble in her brain. She wasn't particularly bothered by being called a bitch, she'd been called worse, it was more the implication that she'd been picking on the child's over inflated ego and called her names. That was so petty and Roh might have been a lot of things but petty wasn't one of them. She had followed the sound of angry footsteps and flashes of iridescent hair through the halls until she reached the Prefect's bathroom. She thought about knocking but then Zinnia wasn't much for conversation on the best days and this was certainly not one of her better days. Really the pintsized Slytherin had said more in the last hour than Roh had heard her say outside of class since the start of the year. She felt a bit honor bound to seek her out as the only witness to the full extent of the absolute bullshit that had taken place... so she maybe used a password she had obtained through some touchy feely methods with another prefect to quietly let herself in.It was interesting to see Zinnia giggling and splashing about in the water. She looked smaller but more sturdy than she usually did. Roh arched an eyebrow as the other witch's wand skittered across the floor head tilting to one side. "Nice trick Kinley," her voice was smooth as she leaned against one of the loungers, "I thought you might be in here setting of actual bath bombs or something." "Don't think I didn't consider it, Ettie Grimstone owes me one of her mother's but, that isn't strong enough for right now. Besides. Poison is more my style." Zinnia pushed herself over to the side of the tip and fiddled with a tap topped with an opal, that filled the room with a heavenly lemongrass scented steam. She could feel the ire radiating of her fellow snake and motioned for her to jump in. "It's hot, but It's way better than that mess in the common room."Her thoughts turned once again to the self involved drama queen fifth year whom Zinnia refused to use her given name. She knew the vial was still tucked into the pocket of her skirt, and she still had every intention of reporting her to the head of Slytherin, But she was more annoyed at how she thought so little of Gracie to pretend she didn't have friends, or how Roh was never a mean person, just honest, and the fifth year uppity brat decided to turn on water works to make them feel bad for her. Zin had every intention of returning the vial before that, after making sure it wasn't dangerous, but not anymore. She'd probably throw it out now, mostly out of pure spite. Spite was a new feeling for Zinnia, It wasn't often someone made her act out.She was pulled out of her reverie when she realized she couldn't see Roh anymore because the bathroom was filled with steam."What in the name of Merlin's Pants happened back there, Roh?" She actually laughed out loud when Zinnia asked her what had happened - as if she'd have some answer besides Salazar only knew. She didn't fancy getting into the psychology of fifth years and even if she had, she'd have picked a more interesting one than Miss Literally-Everyone-Hates-Me-Because-I'm-So-Pretty-and-Smart."Spoiling my cat nap with illusions of grandeur I believe, coupled with a persecution complex? I mean that's what you get for being nice Zinnia," her tone was jokingly condescending as she pretended to push invisible glasses up the bridge of her nose and gave a flick of her hair. She considered Zin's offer to join her but for the moment stayed put leaning against the chaise, bouncing the heel of one boot against the toe of the other. "As for Eli and Grace, who's to say," she sort of shrugged though there was a frown etched into her forehead. "Eli legitimately doesn't understand half of what is going on if he can't read your lips - which is probably hard when everyone is angry," she sounded almost guilty but there was still that nagging in the back of her mind that it really wasn't fair he'd come into the situation and made judgments. She knew him well enough to know his way to dealing with contentious situations was to just not deal with them but that was still shitty. Roh was a firm believer in backing your people up - even in cases of them being wrong (which didn't even apply to this case). Sure she was the first one to tell one of her people when they were being a dick but she'd never just shut them down like that. Tilting her head back she let go of a long breath before turning her eyes back to Zinnia, "And Grace..." well Grace came into the situation blind. That whole relationship was probably weird. Grace had a way of collecting people but Bella seemed like an odd fit in a lot of ways. Roh had very little sympathy for her given her stunt in the common room. Using a parent's death to try and weasel her way out of something. It was much easier for feel compassionately toward someone who didn't demand it. Even Zinnia, who had her definite quirks was all the more sympathetic because she kept so very much of herself bottled up and away from people. "Have to admit I was a bit impressed with you though Miss Prefect. Really thought you were going to flick your hair at her and start saying 'I don't fukk wit you' for a minute," she couldn't help but sinker a little as she finally sunk down into the chaise and began pulling off her boots.
