They're Multiplying (I'm scared too)

on June 14, 2016, 02:03:39 PM

Given my penchant to ramble about absolutely nothing, my other plotting thread was getting super long and a lot to read, so it makes sense to split them up yes? Yes. So let's commence with the commencing.

Waverly Roh-Ballentyne (bio)
First things first, doooooon't call her Waverly. She is "Roh". Full stop. Now for her actual introduction in case you have no idea who she is! Roh is a Seventh Year  Slytherin, Quidditch Junkie, Animagus, who was raised by two awesome lesbians to be a strong independent witch. Basically she's a down girl who loves to dance with a hunger for knowledge. She is lingering in the "rebellious" phase in which she dresses like a Muggle Fly Girl and flaunts the numerous gifts Merlin gave her (swiggity swooty, she got dat booty). Of course this rebellion is more directed at her mothers than really at school. She's really serious about her N.E.W.T.s and is currently trying to line things up for her post Hogwarts' life. On one hand she kind of wants to follow in her mother's footsteps and on the other hand she thinks the Ministry is corrupt as fuck (something she believes more strongly than ever since the kidnappings.

7thYear Bucket List Challenge still a thing? Waverly is out and proud, but also isn't really into labels. Attractive people are attractive and if they have a personality that can back that up then it isn't hard to win her over or catch her attention. Over last summer on the SEA trip she had a thing for Ariadne Gamp, but nothing ever really came of it. I don't picture her having dated a lot, but there could be history here with someone if you wanted~. Mostly she needs friends, people to have exploits with. She can come off as kind of harsh but she means well, for whatever that matters. She doesn't have the time or the energy to sugarcoat things, she doesn't see the point and feels like it's too close to lying. I would really love some hijinks involving her cat form, maybe even a scare about not being able to transform back or something?

Ettie Grimstone (bio)
I have a brand new baby, Ettie Grimstone. She's a quarter Veela and has literally no idea how to control her charm and it's just a mess, an adorable problematic mess. She's a fifth year Ravenclaw and her mother is the founder of Grimstone Beauty Enhancements and Cosmetics (like Lush but for Wizards, they even have a /spa/). Anyway she didn't come into her charm at all until she was a third year and basically up until her fifth year it's been really weak. It's still weak actually which is how she manages to not realize she's doing the thing she's doing. She's very sweet but a little unsure of herself, she feels like everyone else got their manuel on how to walk in heels and apply eyeliner and her's got lost in the post. She wasn't really even interested in it much until this last fall.

I don't have any hard lined plots for her but things I think would be fun: her inability to control her ability, fifth year fun things, complicated feelsie things because that is always fun and terrible. Basically I want all the things for her because she is tiny and precious. I'm pretty sure she doesn't fall into any house bias, though obviously Ravenclaw is the best. I almost made her a Hufflebutt tho so you know, I see her as a Ravenpuff really (which is funny cause original I thought Slytherclaw). She really needs like one tried and true friend who can deal with how neurotic she gets about things. It's not ALL the time, but she does worry that people don't really like her for who she actually is, that somehow she's tricked them without meaning to. Of course her charm isn't that strong but fears aren't rational, like ever.

Josiah Whifferdill (bio)
Josiah is my newest baby. He's a Hufflepuff 5th year and total squish baby - but don't tell him I said that or he'll get super offended. He's your basic nice guy (but not in the creepy way some guys are "nice guys"). He's super into quidditch, more into music, and falls in love every 5.8 seconds if I'm honest. He's in love with love but feels like that makes him too "girly" so he tries to act cool and confident even if the former couldn't be further from the truth. Boy has zero chill. Hew grew up in Piddlehinton (an all magical suburb type place), but his mother is muggle so he got a fair amount of education on the subject. His parents split up earlier this school year and he's kind of messed up over it but trying to act like he's not cause...feelings?

One of the big things I want to do with him involves music. I've started an open thread here for band auditions because he thinks having a wrock band at Hogwarts would be awesome and also we need a bigger music scene on AO! Quidditch threads for Huffles or really anyone could also be super fun. He's kind of crushing on Winnie Oliver at the moment but like I said he falls in and out of love all the time. He's totally a rom-com wireless program junkie but secretly, so that could be another thing? Study groups, mischief, I want literally all the things for him? He totally needs some "bros", though in this instance bros don't really have to be male? It's about an attitude more than gender.

Hey SJ!

Roh. As she is being serious about her NEWTs I am sure that Raine and her are probably on good terms with one another - possibly occasional class buddies for a project or presentation. I think Raine's (sometimes misplaced) faith in the Ministry would put Roh off but they don't have to get along all the time. Raine is known for being an Animagus as she transformed during the Tetrawizard Tournament, so they have that in common too. Virgil is the sort of person who would call her Waverly in the classroom where it would be a fuss for her to protest - nothing personal, it's to be expected of him. She might consider him lazy. He's hardly unambitious but he is known for taking loads of cat naps and asking people to fetch things for him.

Ettie. I don't have anybody in Ettie's year! Virgil is fond of Juni (and sort of fond of Connor) so she probably knows him from when he drops by at the Ravenclaw table to steal food and gossip (e.g. Unknot Your Knickers).

Josiah. Not a student but I imagine Josiah might be interested in performing at Edgar's Stardust Theatre, as they have weekday afternoons open in the bar for amateurs and artists just starting out in the industry. He could probably audition over the summer to perform one afternoon.
