[March 9] Healers aren't Harlots [Miranda]

on June 11, 2016, 10:35:01 AM

The letter is delivered by a large tawny owl. The parchment is thick and is sealed with the official stamp of the St. Mungo's Board of Warlocks. Only the recipient may open.

Head Healer Miranda Storm,

It is with great sadness and regret that I must pen this letter to you. As one of the youngest Head Healers in history, the job you are doing is phenomenal, and gives young witches and wizards everywhere a chance to know that they can strive for success at any age.

Hard times have come upon our great institution lately, and the Board does not hold you responsible for any of that. The poisonings were far beyond your control, and we understand that. We would, however, like to point out that your name has appeared quite slanderous in recent media. Twice[1][2], this year alone, you've been written in an unflattering light.

We implore you to keep your private affairs away from the public eye. It is difficult to repair a reputation when the head of the institution is on the front page of gossip magazines.

Yours in service,

Tempest Sage

The letter is on St Mungo's parchment but the writing is barely legible, the scrawl of Miranda Storm.

Healer Sage,

When being a nosy troll writing such important correspondence, I advise you do your research correctly in order to be completely factual. I am not one of the youngest Head Healers St Mungo’s has had. I am the youngest. As such, I am a target for slander and gossip. Jealousy breeds strange things, Sage. Perhaps you understand this?

If you are aware of the way I can stop people writing about me, please do not hesitate to share this omnipotent information. It may surprise you, but I don’t enjoy my name featuring in any publication. Unfortunately, I am not in possession of every copy to burn. I’m sure I can get you an annual subscription since you enjoy reading it so much.

Please do not waste my time with further correspondence about things beyond my control,

EllStorm

Only able to decipher a word or two in every sentence of Storm's reply, Tempest merely assumes what she can from the pieced together fragments...

Healer Storm,

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I'm sure you must be extremely busy, as indicated in your poor penmanship and I wouldn't want to keep you from doing your duty. I thank you for taking our recommendation seriously, as we all want to see you do well and have the utmost faith in the work you are doing.

Hoping you are well,
